153 Was As Scary As A Monster

"Well, that is..." Will Evans looked at Loren Davies.

"Just be honest," Loren said upon sensing his look.

"Don't hold back, don't think about Jake France and who was around him," Amber added after Loren Davies spoke.

"Uhmm… everyone has their time of stagnancy and sale drops. It's just one designer have became stagnant for a while before the sales slowly dropped. It has been going on for about a year now. And I thought that maybe it would still rise so I didn't try to address it," he explained full of uncertainty.

Amber sighed as she leaned back on her chair.

"What are you planning now then ma'am. After seeing this designs?" Loren looked up and asked her.

"You don't have to broadcast it but that is also the reason why I had the two of you stay, I want to cut the production into 25 percent of the normal," Amber seriously said.

The two of them were stunned, 50 percent was already big enough, but 25?

"Upon seeing the decline in sale, I came up with this decision. And please don't worry aunt Jacqueline already knows of this."

Amber assured them.

"Instead, increase this person and this person's production for the coming month. As for the new designs I have marked what I think would have the sales needed for the 25 percent. But I still want you to double check it," she then instructed.

Upon leaving the meeting room both Loren and Will were still in shock.

"Go and check the two people she had chosen to have an increase in sale. See the rise of their sales, I'll go and check their designs. Though she asked for all the designs a week ago, maybe that is the reason," Loren couldn't help but say.

Will nodded in agreement before heading to his own department.

Loren looked down at the papers in her hands as she walked back to her own department.

'She was actually able to tell which could still be used and which was something that people wouldn't like,' she then thought.

Everything that Amber marked were passable and those she didn't were lifeless.

~"Let's just say that someone behind this company was as scary as a monster."~

Jake told them this when they were being hired, Loren shuddered.

'Could it be, that it was her? The one who was truly behind the company? She just stayed here for about a week and she was able to point out so many things.'

She couldn't help but look back at the path she took, 'She's still young, how will she become when she grows older?.'

Amber was studying the things passed to her when her phone rang, this time it was a red one.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Have you noticed?" the one on the other side said.

"I didn't think you would actually keep watch," she replied as she leaned back on her chair.

"Hey, hey, calm down now. I just came here, shouldn't you give me time to get it right?" she answered with confidence.

"Hoho, you seemed confident. Fine I'll keep watching. But I wonder, why you chose me? I am just a minor shareholder," he then asked.

"It's better to have minor than none at all," she answered.

"What can my minor shares do for you?" he couldn't help but ask more.

"That should be up to me right?" Amber replied as she stood up and walked to the floor to ceiling window.

She then heard a laugh on the other side of the phone.

"Don't think I didn't hear, you have contacted a few more. You're trying to become a major shareholder aren't you?"

"I see that you have some insight. Indeed I am," she said honestly.

"Do you think Isaac Hughes will just allow anyone, especially a stranger as yourself, be a major shareholder? If you ask me, I think that he was already making his own move to stop your buying," he commented.

"Isn't that the reason why you are calling? Because he is trying to probe whether I am serious of becoming a major shareholder or not?" Amber replied.

The man on the other side couldn't help but to glance at the man sitting opposite him.

The man gestured him to keep chatting with her.

"Your silence tells me I was right and he must be with you right now," Amber said with a chuckle.

"What do you need?" he became serious now.

"I just need more money, a major shareholder will receive more money than a minor shareholder," she replied.

She then heard another laugh on the other side, this time it was of different voice.

"Fine, if you can help turn this around and make Capa prosper instead of keep on losing, I won't stop anyone on selling you their shares," she heard him say.

"Call," Amber replied before hanging up.

What they know about this person trying to buy shares was that she was acquainted with the Capa entertainment owner but they didn't know that it was Amber.

Just like in Cooper Empire, Hughes Empire has no idea who this stranger is. And she still has no plans on revealing herself. It was not yet the time.

This is her current problem, scandals run left and right for their artists, now even Hayley who was one of the pillars is having her decline in sales.

This would surely affect the company as a whole.

Currently, it was not that obvious but surely on the long run it would have a great impact.

'I never thought that I'll face this much in just a week,' she massaged her temple as she thought of this.

"Are you willing to sell it?" Isaac Hughes asked the man in front of him.

"Well if it shows potential then I would want to be a part of the major shareholders of that company," he replied as he leaned back on his chair.

"How about you? Are you willing to have her as a major shareholder? She is an unknown, no one have met her face to face yet," he then asked in return.

"Well, I suppose I'm just being bored, when someone tries to make a change in this monotonous life that we have, I guess it is fun to watch," Isaac replied as he sip from his cup.

"But that doesn't mean I'll leave the shares to her just like that," he then added.

"That's good, your hands are stable. Keep it up, though I must say, you might get some wounds since this is your first time doing it," Arlene said as she watch Amber shape what she was doing.

After office, Amber came to Rose Gold Jewelries to continue what she wanted made.

"It is fine, if it means that it would come out beautiful then I can accept the wounds," she replied.

"This man must really be special for you to make such an effort," Arlene couldn't help but to compliment her.

Compared to Hayley who gave up the first day and just asked for a personalized one, Amber persevered reaching this point.

"Very special," Amber replied as she look down at her very own ring.

The crown ring, the same ring that became her engagement one.

"That's a cute design, did he give that to you?" Arlene asked.

"Not really but he was the one who designed it," she answered before she remembered something.

'He once had this dream, of becoming a jewelry designer. But being an heir, he had to give it up. I wonder if he still has it?'

"What's wrong?" Arlene asked when Amber's hand suddenly stopped moving.

"No, it's nothing," she replied as she kept going.

"Can I ask you something," as Amber was about to leave for the day, Arlene asked.

"What is it?"

"Is miss Hayley on a slump?"

Amber's movements stopped upon hearing this.

"Why? Why did you think so?" she asked afterwards.

Well as a jewelry designer myself, though it's a bit different than fashion designing, I noticed that her designs somehow changed. As if she was no longer enjoying creating them," Arlene explained.

"I wonder, I'll try to keep watch. Thank you for speaking your mind," Amber smiled before waving her goodbye.

As she drive home, Hayley's face came to her mind.

It was that time she saw her pulling an all nighter which Hayley said that she was doing the designs due for the week.

Amber clearly saw the smile on Hayley's face while she was working then.

But just as Arlene have said, the designs she passed doesn't feel like they were done out of enjoyment.

As if they were done just for the purpose of the deadline.

One hand on the steering wheel while her head was propped on the other, the window was down letting in the night air.
