155 You As Her Brother Even Gave Up

Amber woke up to see that she was already lying on a bed, when she looked around she found out that she was not in Alissa's place nor in her office.

Her mind despite still being fuzzy somehow did it's best to become alert.

"Just lie down, it's not like I kidnapped you to look like that," a voice came from the side.

She looked at the side in shock.

"ASH!! What are you doing here? I mean what am I doing here? Am I in celestial?"

Ashton raised an eyebrow as he walked towards her before placing a hand on her forehead.

"Your fever is still high, no wonder you're being stupid right now."

"Stupid? After two weeks of not seeing each other you are calling me stupid?" Amber complained instantly.

Ashton flicked a finger in her forehead, "If not why would you ask me if you are in Celestial?"

Amber just pouted, "I am sick and you are being like this."

"Yes you are sick, so will you lie down now and rest instead of still fighting with me?" he then said.

Amber did as he asked, "But what you are doing here? Well I am happy to actually see you but still, aren't you busy?"

"I finished everything I must finish, so I have sometime. But I'll be returning on Sunday night."

Amber thought for a bit before she abruptly sat up once again, "You came to my office?"

"If I didn't how would I have brought you here?"

"Then everyone saw you? I mean almost everyone?"

"I think so, they were all looking at me in shock," he replied as he once again stood up to get the soup he made.

Amber lie down and sighed, "Waahh, I'll be the top topic for next week again."

"Aren't you always like that? The main topic," it was just in time for Ashton to return.

Amber just looked at him as if she was wronged.

"Don't look at me like that, it was you who overworked yourself," he retorted.

"But you still came to the company without telling me, if I was not sick they would still see you," she complained.

Ashton stared at her before standing up, "Then should I go back now?"

"No!! I didn't mean that," she grabbed his arm as she said this.

"You sounded like it was wrong of me to come here," despite this he still sat down on the bed and stir the soup.

Amber still wanted to retort but she was already feeling weak, seeing this Ashton placed some pillows behind her to allow her to sit comfortably.

"Just eat this for now, do you want me to feed you?" he asked, his voice turning gentler.

"I can still feed myself don't worry," she replied as she took the bowl from him.

Ashton remained seated beside her watching her finish the soup.

"Are you still being torn?" he asked for as she finished half of the bowl she suddenly sighed.

"I don't know, just I think I'm currently experiencing the full brunt of creating so many companies," she confided.

"I was confident that with aunt Jacqueline, Alissa and Hayley being here, everything would be fine. But when I checked everything, I was completely wrong," she laughed defeatedly.

"I had forgotten that aunt Jacqueline managed his own shop not company. Alissa and Hayley were not really acquainted with businesses. In the end, I was overconfident and left everything to them."

She played with the remaining soup, "Maybe that is also the reason why Alissa still couldn't find what she want, why Hayley was being like this right now and why aunt Jacqueline was almost burnt out."

"I sometimes felt like I had them hold back to what they truly want because of the company," Amber couldn't help but say.

"What if I didn't made aunt Jacqueline take over? What if I didn't send Alissa and Hayley here and let them study whatever they chose back in star country? I have dictated their life that's why I couldn't... I couldn't..."

Tears started falling down her eyes, she had been feeling heavy ever since she came here especially after seeing how tired Jake France was and how the company was falling.

She felt so stressed and pressured.

"Couldn't what?" Ashton still asked.

"I couldn't completely reprimand Hayley, what if what was going on now was what she truly wanted? Do I have the right to hold her back? I wanted to support Alissa that is why I made her try things, but was that what she really want?"

"As I stayed here, I felt like I am becoming just like those people, without asking them what is it that they want, I keep pushing things in front of them. And that scares me, it scares me so much Ash, I don't want to become just like those people."

"The blood inside me was the same blood as theirs, is this what our blood is really for? Taking away other people's dreams? Suppressing them?"

She looked up at him, staring straight in his eyes, "I'm scared."

Her voice cracked, her emotions were in full display.

"Here," Timothy handed Alissa a handkerchief.

The three of them, him, Alissa and Jake France, just came to check on her.

But in the end the, this is what they heard.

"That stupid girl," Jake commented as he too wipe his tears.

After Alissa wiped her tears she entered the room.

"Are you stupid?!?"

Amber looked at her in shock.

"What... are you doing here?"

"I'm asking you if you are stupid?"

Timothy and Jake entered as well, this shock Amber even more.

"Did we ever tell you that you are suppressing us? Did we ever showed you that we didn't want what we are doing? I may still have no idea what I truly want but that doesn't mean I am not having fun right now," Alissa kept going.

"It was also my fault why I was burnt out, I didn't manage my time properly," Jake added as he sniffed.

Amber remained silent, she has no idea what to say for she was truly shock.

"Stop blaming yourself for everything, we wanted this. We are the ones who volunteered to do this, so why? Why are you saying that you are suppressing us? Why are you saying things as if this was against our own free will?"

Alissa walked closer and held both her shoulders.

"Don't you think that was even more painful for us? That you think that our wholehearted efforts were actually forced? We wanted to help you but you think that we actually didn't want to. You're hurting us more with that," she explained.

"The fact that you realise this things and thinks that you are being too much only shows your difference from them. Stop torturing yourself because of your bloodline. You are you, they are they, all of you are separate entities," Jake added.

"As for Hayley, go on and hit her in the head, I can also see that she is being too much already," Alissa then said which gained Amber's chuckle.

"Hey, she's your cousin," she then said.

"If she was not my cousin then I wouldn't care this much for her," Alissa retorted.

"I'm sorry," Amber then seriously said.

"If you are sorry then stop thinking that everything you do, once it becomes bad, was because of your blood. You are also human, each of us makes mistakes. If you made a bad decision then do your best to make sure that you learn from it and will not do it again."

Jake started lecturing her as Timothy and Ashton stepped out of the room.

This was actually the hotel room Ashton booked for his two nights stay.

"I'm amazed, you were not the one who comforted her," Timothy commented as Ashton handed him a cup of coffee.

"I can't always be there for her, I can't always be the one comforting her. That girl would only cry to herself in the past. Knowing that there are still people other than me who could do so is more than enough," he answered.

"Won't you get jealous? What if it was other men who would be able to comfort her?"

"If they can handle her peculiarity then I would feel jealous but you do know how random that girl is, I think in this whole world I am the only one who can handle it," he replied.

'You as her brother even gave up,' he added in his mind.

"Her bloodline, she seems to be scared of it. Could it be that her revenge was towards her brethren?" Timothy turned serious and asked.

Ashton looked down at his own cup while tapping his finger on its handle, "Why the sudden curiosity?"

"Is it bad to be curious about the person you are acquainted with?" Timothy asked in return.

"To answer your question, yes, she wants to have revenge to her relatives," Ashton answered.

Timothy after hearing his first question could feel that he must not ask more, that he might regret it. So he remained silent until Jake and Alissa came out of the room.

"I'm leaving her to you, she had fallen asleep, because of her fever and exhaustion," Jake then said to Ashton.

"I understand."

"And thank you, for always watching over her," he then added.
