225 To Make You As Lazy As Possible

"What? So that you can make me say I'll stay behind and wait for your news?" Xander replied as he stopped punching the punching bag.

He had been venting out his anger on this object ever since they had that talk a while ago.

After hearing his reply, Amber's brow twitched.

"I just want to have a drink with you," she once again said.

"And just like I said, I don't want to. When I am drunk you might suddenly make me sign something," he answered removing the gloves in his hands.

Amber reached her limit, she already tried, that two sentences was her maximum.

"Xander," he heard her say.

But the moment he looked back, he was met with a fist.

Due to its suddenness he ended up falling on the floor.

Amber took hold of his collar as she sat down on him, "Just how much more stubborn could you get? I came here to talk and you just won't listen."

Xander angrily removed her hands on him before pushing her off him, "Cause I know what you will do. And I won't listen to you this time."

He tried to walk away but Amber walked to him and pulled him by the arm making him face her again.

"Do you think I didn't know? Do you think I didn't notice?" she asked as she grabbed him harder by the arm.

Being someone who grew up training her body, just her grab was already painful enough for him.

"Stop it already!!" he once again said removing her hands from his arm.

"Go and walk away, the more you do so the more I wouldn't let you in this plan. The more I would take away your freedom in getting back at them," she snapped and said.

Xander abruptly turned to face her and his face was filled with anger, "Just how much more selfish could you get? You may know how painful it is to watch them die but it is also painful to suddenly find out that they are already dead without giving you the chance to even speak with them!!"

"Don't speak as if you could really take revenge. I'd rather have you stay away from this fight than to lose you or other people because of your stubbornness!!" she retorted.

"Why do you keep saying I would die? Why do you keep saying others would die?" he asked.

"It is because of your stubbornness that you got from mother!!" she exclaimed.

"Huh?"

"I told you, stop thinking I didn't notice. You didn't kill those kidnappers Xander. Not even close to being critically wounded."

She gave him another punch as she said this.

"I can't have someone like you in the battle field. Your child is the main reason, the next is this. I won't have you kill more of our people."

Her words rendered him speechless.

They were his enemies but he still couldn't kill them in the end.

"Wake up now, not everyone could take revenge and kill just because they wanted to do so. You didn't grow up in such a way, you grew up to be a doctor someone who saves lives and not someone who takes them."

Xander looked away.

Seeing this she once again grabbed hold of his collar, "Those two punches are for my anger to you. For being unable to kill that person who tried to kill you. But I will only give you two because you are just like mother. You got her trait of loving life."

She shook him in order to make him look at her, "Listen carefully Xander, among the three of us I might be the youngest and I might be the only girl but the way the two of us grew up are entirely different."

She pushed him, "You may have been neglected but not once were you made to kill. You may have grown up inside of that hideous empire but not once did they try to train you to become ruthless. They didn't want to raise someone who could kill them in the end."

"But I have grown up trying my best to survive, father had no choice but to train me in every possible way of killing in order to protect myself. This hands? They are stained by blood, more blood than you can imagine."

"They didn't raise me to be ruthless I just learn how to be because I had to. And that is our difference, I didn't get mothers love for life but instead I received father's will to protect no matter the cost. Timothy got both that is why he can kill at the same time he can't."

Xander stared at her.

"We can't have everything Xander and no matter how much we try, something that was inscribed in our blood couldn't be changed so easily. For almost twenty years we grew to be the one we are today, that is why I won't risk it."

"I won't risk you or the father of that child or our companions. I will never allow it."

She walked away from him and picked up the two cans of beer she brought when she came down.

"Now, are you willing to drink with me?" she asked handing him one can.

To which Xander silently accepted.

"I told you, you don't need to stop her," Ashton said as he released Timothy's arm that was ready to go in and stop the two of them from fighting.

"Our father's protectiveness is truly a two edged sword," he commented as he squatted down on the floor.

He had seen it one time when he was just six, when he and their mother got kidnapped.

Nathan came to save them and despite Sarah covering Timothy's eyes, he could still see the way his father decisively killed all those people.

Sarah during that time could only look away for she just couldn't watch their lives being ended right in front of her.

"We thought she was a combination of your father and mother but I guess we made a mistake. Almost everything that she inherited came from your father," Ashton commented as he just leaned on the wall.

"When I saw her that day, when she saved us. The first thing that came to me was my memory of father killing those people without batting an eyelid. His emotion was also normal, I was scared then and forgot about it."

He looked inside where Amber and Xander were now sitting on the floor drinking the beer.

"It just returned to me as I watched her kill back then."

"Our world works that way, there are those who are like your father and Thalie and there are those who are like your brother and your mother. Somehow I can see why Patrick Price left her that token," Ashton replied.

The two of them then left the basement, leaving the two of them.

"Don't think that just because you will not be in the front line, you can no longer help in bringing them down. We need you in the back line, we need someone who we could return to with wounds in our bodies. Someone who could help us mend them."

Amber said as she stared at the can in her hand.

Xander finally sighed in defeat, "Very well but I wish I wouldn't have that much work though, let me be lazy then."

Amber chuckled, "Yes, we would do our best to make you as lazy as possible."

"Sorry," Xander said after a while.

"Don't be, I didn't brought it up in the first place. I guess Samantha and Alissa were right, I should have said so in the first place," Amber replied with a shake of her head.

"Come to think of it, I never thought you would fall in love this deep for someone," she then commented.

"Why? Did you ever think that you would fall in love that deep?" Xander asked in return.

"Will you tell me then? How did you fell for her?" she asked after wards.

"Hey, let me join in that talk," Timothy came from behind with another box of canned beers.

"Hoho, are we drinking till we're wasted?" Amber asked.

Timothy just raised an eyebrow at her.

"Hah, I have strong resistance to alcohol I should warn you," on the other hand, Xander answered.

Amber then smiled while Timothy shook his head.

'Who do you think are you talking to? Someone who has immunity to alcohol against high resistance? Who would win then?' he thought as he put down the box.

"No tell us, how did you two meet?" Amber asked after they were settled.

"Never mind, let's speak about something else," Xander answered after a pause.

Amber just smiled, she knew she would know of it one day when she once again sit down with Samantha and Alissa.
