227 How Is It Going?

"Well, I guess I could say that you know me quite well," Amber answered with a laugh.

"What is it this time? I don't think I have a relative that Is being pursued," Luis said as he leaned back on his chair.

"No, but as a major shareholder, I have a proposal that could help your company," she started without waiting any longer.

It was not entirely a lie after all, once this is over, there really won't be damages on their side.

"Let me hear it then," Luis had his brow raised upon hearing her saying the word proposal.

After listening to everything she had to say, Luis brows are furrowed, "It is indeed a good proposal but there is one thing that I don't understand."

"It could be on another places, why there?"

"Simple, theirs are advancing more than the others. In the long run, surely what they have will be even more advantageous to you than the others," she answered.

"That is something I don't know whether I should accept or not. I haven't seen your face yet only had some calls and some avatar meetings. Do you think this is too suspicious?" Luis replied.

He then heard a laugh on the other side, "Why try go around in circles? Just tell me that you want to have a face to face meeting."

"I want assurance," Luis corrected her.

"Very well, I guess I'll have someone very very close to me to go and meet you," she then said.

"Is that assuring enough?" he asked.

"Well, my appearance is very very scary after all. I can't show it yet now but surely one day you will meet me in person," she said honestly.

"Well, as long as the proposition brought is good enough then I will accept your proposal," he finally relented.

"Agreed then, when would the meeting be?" she asked.

"How about this afternoon, are they busy?"

"Nope, since we are the ones proposing such out of this world proposal, I guess we should adjust our own time," she replied with enough politeness.

It was still a bit early but she needs to step up everything, she couldn't be too arrogant here.

"1 pm then, in our office, they could just say that they have an appointment with me. No one has so it would be easy to confirm," he answered before hanging up.

"Are you sure about this sir?" his secretary asked.

"The proposal is quite outrageous but I'll give them a chance to convince me," was his answer before returning to his work.

Amber was once again in a phone call, "I need you to go there later, it is 1 in the afternoon so you need to be a bit earlier. But you are the only have with the appointment so you don't have to worry about anything."

"That's why I am asking you, why me?" the one on the other side asked her.

"Huh? What kind of answer is that?"

"Very well, either you go or I pull you out of the current project you are on right now," she then said seriously.

"I understand, I understand. Who said I am not going? I am just asking. Can't someone ask at least," was the reply.

Amber smiled, "That's set then. Remember it has to be 1 in the afternoon don't be late. I heard you are quite fond of that."

"Shut up."

She laughed hearing the end of call tone after hearing the reply.

"Now we can only wait for that," she said as she placed a check on another sentence in her notebook.

There are five sentences in total, among them only these two could be done now.

The third could be done in another two months or so, as per her estimation.

"Everything should have been ready in another five years or so, now I need to lessen it as much as possible. Quite irritating at how impatient they are, couldn't they give me at least a bit more of time?"

She started her monologue once again.

"What if Cooper were to become too stubborn? Then that would be difficult for me, but I guess it is already a plus that that person is on our side, if not then I would surely have to think of another plan."

"But what should I do for that? Propose another ides? No that cannot be, they would surely decline. Worst comes to worst I guess I will have to reveal the real reason behind everything? Would they watch on my side or would they watch on the sideline instead?"

Her thoughts were cut when she heard a knock.

When she realized it, the knock didn't come from the door but instead came in front of her, right on her table.

"Hi there," she said upon seeing the person who interrupted her thoughts.

"Eat first," Ashton said placing the food in front of her before removing the laptop she had been using.

"Oh thanks, I didn't notice the time," she said honestly before devouring the food in front of her.

"How is it going now?" he asked.

It was already lunch. She didn't skip breakfast for he brought her some bread early that morning. As for lunch, he ate before preparing another for her.

The others asked just how busy she is and he just said that she is busy.

"Well one is obviously set in stone, I would find the result of the other this afternoon. As for the others they still need time especially the fourth. But I need your help for the fifth," she explained as she eats.

Ashton placed his own laptop in front of her and showed her a few sites, land sites.

She looked at it before she realized what they are, she looked up at him and grinned, "I knew you could read my mind."

Ashton just raised an eyebrow at her before setting the laptop on the side.

"Since you already have them, you already know what I will do next?" she asked.

Ashton flicked a finger on her forehead, to which she just smiled.

"Do you think our minds are one and the same?" he asked her afterwards.

Amber smiled, "Well, simple in order for you to have a higher winning rate I have a proposal for you, I mean for your company."

"I'll hear about it once your done eating," he said as he removes some food sauce at the side of her lips.

*****

"Hello?" Timothy answered.

After lunch they received a call from the Price Empire.

"We have sent some people to bring you back home, where are you now?" Harry asked.

Despite not knowing whether the woman a while ago is real or not they still needed to have some assurance.

"Why are we still in danger at our very own country?" he asked.

"That's not it but we have no idea if the one who saved you are truly on our side or not," Harry explained.

"Have you got information about that person?" Timothy decided to act ignorant of Nathalie's appearance.

"You really didn't see who it was?" Harry asked he also didn't want to believe them yet.

"Well it was night and the path was dark, our escape was smooth for it seems that she had planned everything ahead of time, as for who she was, we really didn't see anything," he explained in a very convincing manner.

Even Clark who was with Harry started believing that they haven't met Nathalie.

"Very well, since we don't know everyone's intention, you two should return here this instant," Harry said.

"We are in a rest house and we are planning on going to another country before returning there. Since you guys are already on the case, it would already be fine," Timothy answered.

"What are you still planning?" Harry was starting to be agitated.

"We will be attending a wedding, it might take another two to three months. Maybe it is also better for us to stay away from the family for now. We might endanger Glenn or the others."

"Wedding? Whose wedding?"

"Ashton."

"The Wright brat? Why are you attending his wedding?" Harry exclaimed.

"Well, they attended Glenn's wedding, isn't it only right to attend theirs as well as a sign of respect. Or do you want to go?" he asked.

Harry looked at Clark and Clark nodded his head.

"Very well, but you must be careful we can't have another case of you two getting kidnapped," he said in a concerned manner.

"We understand."

"Why would they suddenly attend a wedding when they just got kidnapped?" Harry asked looking at Clark.

"They must be having second thoughts towards the Empire, if they weren't saved then it would be fine but since they were. They would surely have second thoughts towards us because it was our country and we couldn't save them fast enough."

Clark explained as he shook his head.

Someone coming back to life is truly a troublesome thing.
