236 You Finally Called

She looked around and noticed that it was indeed a man's room, they just pointed where she would sleep, she didn't expect for them to bring her to Ashton's room.

This was their family home after all and the whole family was here.

'I thought they were conservative but it seems that I was mistaken,' she thought.

"Leon Ansel called," he started.

He was sitting at the edge of the bed and hearing what he has to say Amber sat beside him.

He didn't look too serious, it's just he was telling her of what had just happened.

"Well, the plans have been set anyway. Your side and mine," Amber said.

"Did you ask your brother?" he asked.

She had told him that she has a bit of a problem and that is no one would be able to stand up for her.

She could only work properly on her plans when she works in the shadow, she can't be the one in the lime light.

"Yes and he agreed as long as Samantha agrees and she didn't do much work. Of course I can't let her work hard, her physique is more important than the company itself. Plus it was a joint one anyway, so we didn't need to expand that one too much," Amber answered.

Ashton placed a hand on top of her head. His eyes were looking at her both with gentleness and a bit of sadness.

"I am fine, though it is taxing at times being able to took one step at a time and see that the tree was about to bare fruit is really fulfilling," she said upon seeing this.

"You said calls a while ago, you haven't said anything about the other," he rubbed the top of her head before asking.

"That's right, she finally called back," she answered.

(Flashback)

Just as Amber put down her phone after her call with Brian, it once again rang.

Looking down it was the number she didn't give a name but she knew who it was.

"You finally called," she answered.

"I accept your deal," said on the other side.

"Very well, I shall pass your number to him. You shall be working with him on this matter," Amber nodded her head as if the other person could see her.

"Him?"

"Yes him, the current plan needs the both of you to work together," Amber said seriously.

"You want me to work with him? Are you sure?" the other asked in disbelief.

"Are you a sadist?" after a short pause she once again asked.

"No but what we have is business if you put your personal feelings in here then surely it will be you who would lose. I offered you a way out of that hell, it is up to you whether you would choose freedom or more pain," Amber replied.

"You trust him that much?"

Amber chuckled, "If not then who should I trust with my everything?"

"Trust came too easily to you," she couldn't help but to bitterly said.

"It didn't but he showed me that I can indeed," she honestly replied.

'That's right, he showed me that I could trust him in the past. It was me who didn't believe in it and mistrusted him a few times.'

Their relationship despite them being young was not only filled with happiness but also with immature quarrels which she herself started and it was always Ashton who would do his best to make up with her.

To think that he was even the one younger.

"Have the two of you ever fight?" Madison couldn't help but ask.

"Well there are times, it's just we both made sure that we would be able fix it up as fast as possible," Amber honestly answered.

She didn't know why but she can tell that Madison is completely lost right now. And that if she didn't answer her honestly she would get lost even more.

She heard a sigh on the other side and a few minutes of silence enveloped them.

Amber knew she was trying to sort out her feelings and mind so she didn't rush her and allowed her to think on her own.

Madison might have done something back in their wedding but it was so simple that actually helped her so she really didn't hold that much grudge against her.

But if Madison were to hurt Ashton once again then all hell will let lose for she will hunt her down to the ends of the world in order to get back at her.

"I understand, I shall accept this partnership," after a while Madison finally said seriously.

"Very well, I shall leave it to Ash to speak with you. But allow me to say one final thing..."

Madison steeled herself to listen.

"I trust Ashton but that doesn't mean I trust you as well. We are cooperating right now because we have the same enemy as for the future we can only see. If he were to get hurt I'll hunt you down wherever you are," Amber said with her cold voice.

Just listening to it made Madison shiver.

She didn't answer and Amber ended the call.

She would be lying if she said that it didn't cross her mind, of trying to win Ashton back but Amber's warning and her words before that made this little part of her crumble.

Tears fall down her eyes as she hugged her knees together.

(End Of Flashback)

Ashton nodded, he knew the reason why he had to cooperate with Madison.

If he were to try and take the lands that the Price Empire are eyeing he needs an eye inside of Price Empire in order to know what lands they are vying for.

Amber looked at him, "Why does it feels like everything that you are doing are all for me?"

Ashton looked at her and cupped her cheek, "Who else would it be then?"

Amber's eyes lit up as she smiled widely and happily, "I really am lucky to actually find you in these sea of people."

Ashton just smiled and kissed her on her forehead, it was both warm and gentle. After doing so he pulled her into a hug making one feel that they have finally found their place in this chaotic world.

"Let's rest, it shall be another battle tomorrow," Ashton said but upon looking down, she had already fallen asleep.

He chuckled, she was working nonstop for the past few days and then they have to travel to Ceres but even during flight she was still working.

She was working for the one in here and for the one she will go to after this place.

Sometimes he just wished she would stay by his side and be protected by him but she was not that type of person, she is someone who should spread her wings. Because that's just how she is.

He carried her on the bed, she may still be wearing her travel clothes but it seems comfortable enough that he no longer needed someone to change her.

He could have done it himself but he rather not, not until they are officially married.

Some would say, he could have placed a blindfold but he still chooses not to.

She is a gift he wanted to unwrap on the day they vowed to be together until they both die.

A gift he didn't want to take a glimpse of no matter what until that day.

After making sure she's comfortable he changed and lay down beside her pulling her by the waist.

"You were crying?" Glenn asked after coming in that evening in their room.

"I was watching some movie and it made me cry," Madison sniffed before looking up at him with her still tear stained eyes.

She looked so pitiful that he couldn't help but to soften.

At the same time, the way she looked made Glenn's throat dry.

"I know I have been harsh to you for the past few weeks," he said as he approached her cupping her cheeks.

Madison who finally decided to act in order to escape leaned her face on his hand.

"It is because I too was neglecting my duty as your wife and as I think about it for the past days I realized that I too was at fault for that," she replied as she placed her hand on top of his.

"For that I really am sorry," she looked at him behind her lashes and said.

Glenn swallowed hard.

He had loved doing it with anyone especially those who would resist but would writhe in pleasure once they reach the top.

But somehow, Madison was making him hungry with the way she acts now.

"Let me love you tonight, let me show you just how much I love you," he suggestively said as his face came close to her.

Madison swallowed the anger inside her as she moved and approached him as well, "I'd love to."

Sacrifices are needed in order to gain what she wanted the most right now, Freedom.

Freedom she haven't had in so many ways and in so long.
