243 Until Six Days Later

Alissa and Samantha looked at one another before agreeing.

But then, they didn't know where the couple is coming from so they couldn't say that they could give them advice for what they don't understand.

"Come to think of it, Ashton said that she would be weak for 24 hours. She is awake and all now," Xander remembered and said.

"This must be what she was talking about, the side effect losing its effect. No wonder she didn't want for aunt Liana to make a cure, for it was no longer needed," Timothy said.

Then the four of them looked up as if they could still see her.

Amber stayed inside the study room all day, they brought her food and she eats it before placing the dishes outside the door.

She was just grateful they weren't asking if she was fine.

She was still feeling heavy as she keeps remembering his back facing her.

She had a nightmare yesterday, after thinking for so long before falling asleep she ended up having a nightmare.

That he was leaving her for good, he was so mad that he turned his back on her and she never saw him again.

That's why she wanted to see him the moment she found out she could already move.

Then she found out that he left her in the house going off on his own.

Her heavy morning became heavier because of this and she feels completely dejected.

She kept working to get her mind out of it, she had already said her piece to him. Now it is up to him whether he would face her or not, whether to fix this or not.

Ashton, on the other hand, ended up coming home in the middle of the night where most of the people are already asleep.

Seeing that the room was empty he knew she was in the study but he allowed her to stay there not checking on her.

He was still thinking over so many things so he decided not to speak to her yet.

The very next day, Ashton left early and Amber still stayed inside the study room, food will be delivered to her and all.

This kept going until six days later.

"Are they going to keep doing this?" Gideon finally sighed and said to Cathrine.

"Those two are old enough, fights are inevitable during relationships. They would surely end this by tomorrow," Cathrine shrugged.

"Well I guess I might only be worried for nothing," he said back before returning to his coffee.

Cathrine spoke with Ashton and he told her what was going on in his mind and what happened between them.

In this part she knew both of them are at fault and Amber already admitted hers, she already said everything that was on her mind.

Ashton was the one who is still sorting his thoughts.

He was too protective of her that this sudden knowledge made him lost.

And this caused such a reaction from him.

~"You have to understand both consciously and subconsciously that she is an independent person. You may understand each other the best but both of you are apart more than you are together. That lady is a lovable one who knew her own mistakes."~

That was her last words to him.

'Indeed if that was me, I would stubbornly wait until Gideon comes to me. I wouldn't go to him and explain until he comes first. She puts down her pride in order not to make their fight grow but that doesn't mean she always submits to him. Just like now,' she added in her mind and a smile appeared on her lips.

"Why are you smiling?" Gideon noticed this and asked.

"Nothing."

Amber, who locked herself inside the study room for six days straight, stretched out as she finished checking all the files she needed to check.

'Being a multi-business owner is difficult, so many things are to be done and all of them are of different genres. It feels like I am writing novels of the different genres at the same time,' she shook her head as she thought of this.

Though she thanks this workload for she was able to get their fight out of her head for the past six days.

'Was he that mad? I have told him everything and promised, is he still mad?' she then thought as she leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes.

She may be eating but her sleep is lacking and she feels tired now.

She didn't even notice that she had fallen asleep, not until she felt enveloped by two strong arms and her head leaning on a firm shoulder.

She was still in a sitting position but she was already being carried.

She can also feel the hand patting her back comforting her even more.

She slowly opened her eyes and was welcomed by his view with his eyes closed and this time he was the one leaning on the chair.

'I must have been too tired that I didn't feel him enter or carry me at all,' she thought as she just looks at his face.

She knew he was coming home and knew he also leaves early.

It has been seven days since they fought and seeing him now, she can see that he was also tired.

She placed a hand on his cheek and this caused him to wake up as well.

"Why did you have to come here when you are this tired? You should have laid down and slept properly," she whispered.

"How can I sleep properly when you are sleeping here uncomfortably?" he asked in return as he fixes her position on his lap.

"You must be tired let me down and let's go to your bedroom. Your bags are pretty obvious right now," she once again said touching the place under his eyes with her thumb.

Ashton looked at her and touch her cheek, "Look who's talking."

Amber finally smiled, after a long weak of being down.

Ashton stared at her seriously, "I'm sorry for being stubborn. And sorry for not fulfilling my promise of not leaving you alone."

Amber smiled, this was all she needs to lift her spirit that had been down all this time.

Ashton moved close to her and kissed her softly on her forehead, "I'm sorry and happy birthday."

Amber's eyes that were about to fall asleep again, snapped open and she stared at him blankly.

Ashton chuckled, he knocked his forehead on hers, "You have forgotten?"

"It's my birthday?" she asked with a confused look.

Ashton could no longer help but laugh, "Was I occupying your mind too much that you have forgotten your birthday?"

Amber raised an eyebrow at him and hit him in the stomach with her elbow to which Ashton just laughed.

"So it's been 9 years," she sighed.

She was aware of her parents' death anniversary and that was the only date in her mind during these seven days, she had forgotten that her birthday was also close.

"Their death is not your fault and your brothers have told you to stop beating yourself up because of it, today marks your 24th year in this world. Your parents wouldn't want you to stop celebrating it."

"So you have heard," she said as she once again leaned on his chest.

"That you didn't care about your birthday? Yes, I have heard that you were not celebrating it at all nor do you accept any gifts, well gifts other than mine," he said gaining him another elbow from her.

"Why do you sound much much more narcissistic after seven days of fighting?" she asked in return.

Indeed he had been sending gifts to her ever since they left and they were the only gifts she accepts, somehow she just did.

Ashton stood up with her in his arms and walked out of the room.

"Let's sleep there's a place I want us to go to in the afternoon," he said.

"Where?"

"A garden."

Amber shrugged, she likes it more when they are in a not crowded area.

For the first time in seven days, she soundly slept as she snuggled in his arms.

By the time she woke up, it was already close to lunch and Ashton was no longer beside her.

She shrugged and got changed.

Upon coming down, a feast at the table welcomed her.

"Amber is up," Ashley happily called out when she saw her.

Everyone gathered in the living room and started singing her happy birthday.

She stayed on the stairs, as she did not expect all of them to sing. And despite not singing even Cathrine was there.

How long has it been since she was greeted this way? Since she actually felt her birthday?
