267 Your Love Might Become Your Weakness

"You really know who I am now, don't you?" Michael asked.

It was early that morning when Ashton came to their place and asked him to teach him.

"Will you answer me if I tell you what I think?" Ashton asked in return.

"I wonder," Michael shrugged as he answered.

He still has his laidback attitude and his other companions are looking at him seriously. His current identity is very important to the underworld. Someone unrelated to them knowing of it is something that is not good.

Sensing their attitude, Michael looked back at them, "It is fine, this young man is fine. He is a trustworthy person, don't worry too much."

"Then the one behind him?" one asked.

Michael laughed before looking back at Ashton, "What do you think? I know I can trust you but since I haven't met that one, I don't know if I could trust her."

Then he spread his arms, "She found us after all."

"I shall lay my life in front of you, that person, you can trust her and you could even get her help when you needed it."

Ashton's voice and demeanour were both sincere and honest.

This actually shook them greatly, not expecting for him to actually put his life on the line just for this person.

"Hmmmm," seeing his look Michael squinted his eyes.

"What did you want to learn from me then?" he asked as he sat down.

"Your trademark, your move that no one has ever learnt," Ashton answered without delay.

All of them became vigilant, he really knew who they were. He was certain of their identity.

"I am just a newbie in the underworld, you don't have to worry too much to what I can do and I assure you that I will never betray the partnership between us no matter what," Ashton added feeling the sudden change in the air.

"Why do you think should we believe you?" one asked as he pulled out his gun.

Ashton didn't answer and just stared straight in Michael's eyes as if telling him through his eyes why they can trust him.

After a while of just staring at one another, Michael finally relented and sighed.

"Why the sudden change? I can see it in your eyes something has changed after what happened in Ceres country," Michael asked.

"Betrayal is a wonderful thing, it can turn you either good or bad," was his answer.

And the dangerous glint in his eyes didn't escape Michael's eyes and Michael knew that this betrayal was the last line for Ashton to fully integrate himself to the underworld.

"You really changed, I can still see the reluctance within your eyes during the first months of our partnership but all I can see now is a deep abyss no one should try and perceive," he said honestly.

"And to be honest, I like it. I like how dark your eyes have become," he added.

He knew he was still weak and in order to become better and to face the much stronger enemies of the underworld, he needs to train even more.

"No, let me change that, I can see it. You currently have two sides, one for the underworld and one for that woman you love," a glint flashed through his eyes as he said this.

"But you must be careful, your love might become your weakness," he then warned.

Ashton suddenly smiled, this is to the surprise of all of them that are present.

His smile was both filled with pride and coldness.

"You still don't understand her, she found you. Doesn't that show what her capabilities are?" he then said.

Michael could see the confidence in him as he spoke of this sentence.

He smirked, he really wanted to see this person and understand the confidence behind Ashton's words.

His curiosity was piqued even more than when she found them.

"Very well, I shall be your teacher. I shall accept my first and last student in this lifetime," Michael said with a beaming smile.

This was to the utter disbelief of his companions.

He was known to be the lazy boss who hated teaching others even hating going for a fight.

Him coming out and helping Ashton's group was already too much for them to witness but now, they couldn't help but to look at him agape.

Ashton bowed down as a sign of his respect towards him.

"Tell me, what more do you know about me?" after a while, Michael asked while squinting his eyes.

"What I know is something I still didn't want to believe, I feel like it was too surreal that is why I don't want to ask you about it or even try to accept such a thought."

'The life of those around her was truly complicated,' was all he could think off.

That is why he was not entertaining this thought at all. Not just yet but maybe one day.

Michael just looked at him before he shrugged seeing as Ashton would really not say anything more.

"But let me tell you one thing, I helped you with his right hand man but I have no more plans of helping you with the boss," he then said as he sat down.

"That is more than I could ask for, I also want to do this with my own power," Ashton agreed.

There was an agreement that Michael needs to uphold, that is also why he was willing to help train Ashton.

He wanted to see how far he can go and knowing he couldn't help personally, he can do it indirectly.

After Ashton left, his subordinate surrounded him.

"Are you really sure about this? Yes, you do know about him but can you really trust him and that person who helped him find us?"

"That's right boss, he also knows of your identity, that means we need to be more vigilant towards him instead of accepting him as your student."

Michael laughed, "I am just fulfilling a promise."

~"If I get to have a son, I wish it would be you who would train him once he grows up."~

~"I don't think that would be a difficult task, very well, if you have a son then I shall personally teach him to make him stronger."~

"A promise?"

Michael smiled, "A promise to a not blood related sister who wanted for her son to be as strong as I am."

'Though I never thought I would be able to fulfil it at all, since I runaway before he was born. Though I did watch him grow up.'

There are multiple times where he missed his past life especially his family.

He heard of how his sister runaway from home after him and he felt regret for leaving all responsibilities to her leading to her running away following his footsteps.

He tried to look for her but to no avail as she had someone erase all her traces.

He checked on his father and saw how devastated he was, he had a lot of moments where he wanted to return.

He loves his father dearly but somehow, he just couldn't return because his father never wanted him to return unless he looks for him himself.

There are a lot of times that he wanted to return to his identity as Justin Scott but as time passes by, he could no longer do so.

He has so many enemies that returning is no longer an option that is why he remained watching over his father from a far instead.

Though he had been worrying all these years as to where his sister had been.

Not knowing that the person he had been trying to find had been gone for so long now and the people he had an agreement with was the same people who took her life away.

That's right, Ashton was right. He was indeed Justin Scott, he was indeed Amber's one and only uncle on her mother's side.
