268 Okay Enough With That Sighing

She tried checking the CCTVs close to the airport but to no avail. At the same time since she still needs to hold back, she could only rely on small details around but that was not even enough.

"Still none?" Jackson who just came in asked upon seeing her sigh.

Amber shook her head.

"How about on your side, has she spoke to you about what she is doing?" she then asked.

Jackson shook his head as well.

Then both of them sighed.

Simon who just came in with some coffee witnessed this scene and he too couldn't help but sigh. These two had been like this for a whole week now, well they were doing their best in their jobs.

Jackson was still the strict head chef of one of Natan restaurant chain and his work was being finished splendidly but whenever it was his break, he would always stare at his phone and the beak would end with him still staring at his phone.

Amber read through all the reports about the five chains and was watching them closely but once she's done with checking them and making some correction she would try and check some small establishment's CCTV cameras in search of that person.

He had no idea just how good she was but the first time he saw her hack through a CCTV camera like it was nothing, he was completely dumbfounded when she looked up at him and said that she still couldn't find her.

He too sent the photo to his colleagues but to no avail, no one has given him some feedback yet and news about that person was still nothing.

"Okay enough with that sighing, why do I feel like you are the old ones here and not me? Give it a bit more time, you would surely find a trace of them and a result," he clapped his hand and put down the coffee and pastries he was holding.

He never had a child and when Jackson came with his personality, he found himself adoring him more and more at each passing day.

He barely knew Amber but her stay here for a week, he found her to be a promising person.

He can clearly see that she was someone of an Empire blood.

And of course, he knew who Nathan Price was. He knew how amazing this one was and was even more amazed at how his daughter had double of his capabilities.

And as he interacts more with her, within just a week he found himself watching over her like his own granddaughter.

That is why now, he finally knew what is the feeling of being a father and a grandfather at the same time.

"Still no news from your side as well?" Amber picked up a cup and asked.

Simon was the third person to shake his head in the room.

"That girl seriously, why didn't she mature even just for a bit?" she muttered feeling exasperated.

Before anyone could say anything, a knock was heard from the door.

Simon frowned there was one person who was persistently telling him to take her as his apprentice.

She would come here every week but she didn't for the past three weeks. He thought that she already gave up, who would have thought that she would actually return.

"Tell her to leave, I will never accept an apprentice," Simon said in a dismissive tone.

"Why not? You already took a student, why not add more? Who knows we might have another helping hand," Amber suggested.

"Huh?!? Why would he need to go to such hassle? I am already here, I can be both his apprentice and student," Jackson instantly complained.

Amber raised an eyebrow towards him, "Can you do the job of two people? What can you do in an hour of cooking? One dish? Well, if there are two pairs of hands then you can do two dishes."

Jackson pouted, the strict head chef gone, replaced with the immature young man in front of her.

Amber no longer paid him any attention and instead looked back at Simon.

"Would it be too much?" she asked.

Another hand is a good thing for the prospering restaurant but if Simon was truly not interested then she wouldn't push him. He was just helping her on his own way after all.

Plus, when he accepts one, the responsibility still falls on his shoulder.

Simon looked at her before looking at the sulking Jackson. Then he started pondering over the fact that the restaurant indeed needs quite a lot of hands since they are still planning on expanding.

And since the owner already asked him, it is not that bad for him to accept one.

He looked at the secretary who still didn't left, "Go on and let her in."

The secretary bowed before glancing at Amber.

The company had been talking about a new employee who stays inside the president's office and helps with the management.

She wears a mask and was not introduced to the whole company but the way she handles things and the way the president let her be, everyone comes into a consensus that she was not a simple character at all.

Amber took another sip on her coffee and after a minute or so the visitor came in.

Amber stood up abruptly the moment she saw the person.

Even Jackson and Simon were shock.

The woman who just entered was startled at their reaction, "Uhmm is there a problem?"

"No, it's nothing please have a sit," Amber was the one who spoke.

She furrowed her brows but seeing that Simon was not reacting in any way, she followed her.

Simon and Jackson looked at Amber.

The woman who just entered was the same person they were looking for the past week. Though she used a wig and a few disguises, the reason why they couldn't find her with anything.

Simon, on the other hand, didn't meet her or he didn't look at her face whenever she tries to stop him and ask him to take her as his apprentice.

The reason why he didn't recognize the picture.

"I am Russel Bareford," she introduced herself.

Amber hearing her name started typing on her laptop but she didn't say anything.

"I see, well why do you want to be my apprentice?" Simon asked seeing as Amber was not speaking.

"I have heard of your stories and knew that you are the only one who can teach me everything I still need to learn," Russel answered with a confident smile.

Simon nodded, "I see that you have confidence in yourself but why me? There are more people out there who has more qualification than an outdated person like me."

Russel shook her head before handing over some papers about herself. Simon and Jackson looked at it.

She had a lot of awards and was always within a crowd. Her achievements are also written on it.

"With all I have, I can't find anyone to teach me other than you. You are the only one qualified to be my teacher," she then said.

Jackson was irked by her confidence but he didn't speak, he was waiting for Amber to speak up since this was the person, she had been searching for all this time.

Simon pursed his lips, another person who was just like him, too proud of their talent losing sight of what is truly important.

Truly why was he surrounded by such people.

He couldn't help but to look at Jackson, 'Though this one was only because he was bullied for his talent.'

Then he looked back at the expectant lady, 'Maybe she also has a story?'

"You want to be his apprentice and you think that he was the only qualified one?"

After a long while, Amber finally spoke up.

Russel who felt like she has seen her before looked back at her, "Yes, with everything that I have. I don't think the others are qualified to have me as an apprentice."

"I see."

Russel furrowed her brows, "May I ask who you are?"

'Wow, she must have short term memory when it comes to people or she may be acting right now,' Amber thought as she looked at her and smiled.

"If I say that I am the owner of Natan, would you accept it?"

"You?" Russel answered as if she thinks Amber was joking.

Then she looked at Simon and seeing as he was looking at her seriously, she couldn't help but frown.

"But it was Simon Peterson who managed it all this time making the five chains prosper, reaching this point," she commented.

"Well, I guess you could say that. Then let me be the sponsor of Natan if you don't want me to be its owner."

Jackson and Simon was looking at her wondering what she has in mind.
