275 Needs To Be In The Spot Ligh

Russel was called three days later after what happened and is currently filling in for Jackson who was away, in the biggest chain.

"I am just watching not staring. I had been doing the same with Simon and Jackson. It is a good way of training. Who knows I might become better in cooking," Amber replied.

She was currently inside the busy kitchen sitting on a high chair in the counter top where Russel was working on her dish. She had her head propped while following Russel's every move.

Russel's lips twitched and decided to just ignore her, this had been going on for an hour already anyway.

She thought that this person might end up getting bored after a while and leave but to her surprise and annoyance she stayed like that, drinking coffee at times or eating snacks, for the whole duration of her work.

"I'm off now sir," she said to Simon once her shift was over.

She wanted to learn from him but he made her into a stand in chef instead. She wanted to say that she is much better than this but he was adamant that this will be her probationary period and he will decide whether to take her in permanently depending on her performance.

"Very well, take care on your way home," was what Simon said.

"Bye bye see you tomorrow," Amber added on the side.

Russel didn't glance at her and left the restaurant.

"What are you doing?" Simon couldn't help but ask. If it were him being watched so closely like what Russel have experienced, he would have went berserk already.

"Getting to know her," was Amber's reply.

"Getting to know her by watching her cook for the whole day? Aren't you getting bored of that?" he asked in an exasperated tone.

"No, I actually enjoyed it. The way she cuts the ingredients and the timing of when she throws the ingredients are truly fascinating. Being someone who loves to cook for herself, I am actually learning through this."

"I thought you would jump right in once she comes," he commented.

Amber shook her head, "No, I need to get to know her. I need to understand what is going on with her before I can proceed with any of my plans."

"You really are a patient person, aren't you?" he commented.

"If I want to succeed then I could only take my time into preparing. If I run against them in a haste manner then I would be the one losing not them. My revenge then will go to waste."

It is almost ten years since she started all her preparations. Almost ten years since her parents died.

If people would ask her, why she can be so patient? She could only answer them that she was seething mad inside.

She wanted to grab their neck and kill them in that moment. She just want to grab her gun and shoot them to the head.

But what would that bring her? They died so easily without much difficulty.

Simon no longer said anything, he can see the fire in her eyes and knew that she must have wanted to get her revenge already but knew she was not yet prepared.

Russel plopped to her sofa with a tired sigh.

Compared to being in a big event, she felt even more tired right now.

The way she was watched for the whole day was more tiring than cooking for three whole days.

"Just what was with her? She was so mad and all a few days ago and was even threatening me but now she acts like a little child watching her mother cook in the kitchen."

She huffed, she didn't understand what it is that was going on in that mind of hers.

She can tell that they were of the same age.

"Was she childish or was she mature? I really don't understand. At the same time, seeing what happened a few days ago, Simon was waiting for her approval. Then does that mean that she gave her approval of taking me as his apprentice? But why?"

Loads of questions were running on her mind but she still has no desire on being close to that person whom she couldn't understand at all.

Just then her phone rang, looking down it was an unknown number.

She frowned as her face turned pale before she rejected the call and turned her phone off.

She took a deep breath and went to the kitchen to get some water.

Then her phone rang, her telephone.

She dropped the glass causing it to crash on the floor as she stared at the ringing phone. She looked completely terrified as she picked up her things before running out of the apartment.

She never gave anyone her telephone number, for it to be ringing only means one thing. They have found her place again.

The reason why she loves being in the crowd.

Why she loves being on the spotlight. Why she needs to be in the spotlight.

Amber returned to the restaurant that night to double check everything, she went to the places she couldn't go to and checked their current status before she went to the main restaurant she had been all day.

She checked how the staffs left it and was delighted at how much they clean the place before closing it.

Everything was in place.

The other businesses does not need this much inspection, they were mainly in the company after all.

Other than the hotel which was now with the Wright, this is the only place where the real business was outside the company. Where you must open different branches in order to expand your business.

In order for her to know when she should add more or have an expansion, she needs to see how the restaurants are going.

Just as she was about to enter the kitchen, she heard urgent knocks on the main door, looking back she furrowed her brows seeing that it was Russel Bareford and she looked like she was being chased by something.

When she opened the door.

"Uhmmm that is..."

She was fidgeting trying to find the words she should say in this kind of situation.

Amber saw her being uncomfortable smiled, "Why don't you come in and have some water."

This was not her home but this was her restaurant, she may not be the cook but this was still her baby so she treats this place as her own and invited Russel in.

She led her to the kitchen and brought out a pitch of water, serving her with a cold glass.

Seeing her look, Amber can see that she must have just arrived but left instantly.

She left her in the counter to breath and calm down as she whipped up a few ingredients that she deemed was not fresh.

In reality, after leaving her place, Russel has no idea where to go. She stayed out as much as possible and it was already quite late when she returned home.

Upon coming out she could see that most shops were closed, as she drove, subconsciously she drove back to the restaurant and chanced upon Amber entering.

Without anymore thought, she parked the car and went to the restaurant.

It doesn't matter if she didn't like her or if she didn't know her at all, she just need a company right now. A company in a place where there are a lot of CCTV camera.

She knew she was pulling her into the trouble but she have no one else.

She looked up from the empty glass to the cooking back of Amber.

It didn't take long and Amber turned around with a newly cooked dish.

"I am not a chef just like you but I can cook decently," Amber said placing down a simple fried rice with vegetable and prawns.

Russel just looked at her.

"If you don't want to eat, you don't have to. I just whipped up a few things since I am hungry," Amber shrugged as she started eating.

She was not that hungry but she didn't want to just stay put and watch Russel and her terrifyingly pale face.

Russel didn't say anything as she picked up her spoon and ate the dish that was served to her.

Indeed compared to what she cooks and what she had tasted so far, this couldn't compare but for some odd reason she felt warm and even more relaxed as she eat with this person.

Amber stood up and poured herself some coffee, something she brewed a while ago.

"Do you want some?" she asked.

And Russel could only nod her head, as she sip from her cup, she calmed down even more through this.

She looked up at Amber waiting for her to ask what was with how she reacted a while ago, Amber looked back at her and smiled.
