280 I Really Am A Patient Person

Both of them returned to Amber's place which was a floor above hers.

And now Amber was on the phone, having a chat with her husband while Russel was on the edge feeling scared for her mother who has no idea of anything.

"I told you to calm down, I asked you her address not for the two of us to go there but in order to give her protection," Amber seeing how she never got tired of pacing back and forth spoke up.

"How can I calm down?!?! My mother was innocent from all of these, she had lived her life just being her. She doesn't need to be the mother of Russel Bareford now. She can't be placed in danger because of this name."

Amber shook her head, "I leave it to you then."

"Don't worry, Aldger did a good job over there and currently he was still there doing the final touches, leave it to him," Ashton replied.

"That is why I love you, whenever I needed it, you are always there," she beamed.

She heard Ashton laugh on the other side, "Stop being too busy then and return to my side. I will show you just how much I love you."

It is Amber's time to laugh.

"It is time," she heard another voice on the other side.

"I shall get going now, take care of there. Call me the moment you feel like you are in danger."

"Aye, aye sir. I will call you first and foremost," Amber answered before hanging up.

She looked at the still pacing back and forth Russel before sighing, "I told you to calm down. Your mother is safe, someone will be watching over her now."

Russel turned towards her the moment she heard Amber spoke up.

"She is safe? She will be fine? Are you sure?"

Amber sighed again, she walked towards the kitchen and made coffee for herself, "I don't know how many times I have already told you, I am not a simple person."

"Then will you tell me this time, who is Amber Wood?"

Russel finally sat down, she only met Amber a week or so ago but with her words, she involuntarily calmed down. That her mother was truly alright.

"Maybe that would be a story for another day? It is a bit complicated as to understand who Amber Wood really is. But for now she is the president of Natan Restaurant."

Just as she didn't want to talk about her family at first, Russel understood that they are not yet that close for her to ask anything about Amber Wood.

Her talking about her family was of her own accord, Amber didn't push her to say anything.

"But I guess I am grateful that I talked about my family to you, somehow I couldn't help but feel that I really can trust you despite your personality being so peculiar," Russel commented.

"Allow me to ask one thing then, I don't know if it is just me but there's an emotion I ended up feeling when I tasted your mother's dish a while ago. Have you felt it as well?" Amber asked.

Amber shrugged and poured her a cup.

After that, she walked towards her desk in that place and pulled out a few forms, "I have printed the forms regarding the dish we tasted. I need you to do your job now since we are already here."

Russel looked at her and laughed, "Now I understand what Simon said about you being a slave driver."

"Oh, the words reached you already? Well, at least you are a bit prepared. For I really am a slave driver. I had so many people complaining about that."

Her phone rang after saying this, upon seeing the caller, she looked up at her and said while waving her phone, "And here is one of them. I'll just answer this, please do answer that already."

After going out to the balcony.

"What is it?"

It was Brian.

"My grandfather called, geez it was supposed to be a break yet here I am still reporting to you."

"Yes, yes, I understand Brian. I shall give you a real break once everything calms down. Is Leslie there? Please tell her to give you a smack in the head for me?"

"Hey!!"

She heard Brian complain and knew that Leslie must have heard of her request and smack him.

"Stop complaining, we are the ones who ditched the work. We didn't have a formal leave, plus it was just giving a call."

Leslie's voice was what was heard next, Amber laughed. She could hear Brian grumbling.

"Are you really older than we are? Why do I feel like you are not?" she teased.

"Shut it, be thankful I am in a good mood," Brian retorted.

"Hmmm, I see then I guess you should return to work already. Since you are in a good mood for the two weeks, you should really return to work and no longer needs the next two weeks," Amber answered.

She heard coughing on the other side, "I'm just joking boss. Please, your voice are music to ears especially to Ash's so why should you shut up?"

Amber stopped herself from laughing, she really has a variety of people surrounding her. And it was so much fun than having the same type of people.

"So what is it? What did your grandfather said?"

Brian cleared his throat, "First he was asking why he can't contact you. And he said that he needs more time in convincing the other side into collaborating."

Amber thought for a bit, "I understand. I shall give him a call then."

She bid him goodbye before entering and taking a different phone, which was inside her room.

Russel just watched her before returning her eyes in the work that was given to her.

"You finally called, must I be the one seeking for you? You are a ghost major shareholder that no one have seen yet except for that grandson of mine. The others are already being impatient into knowing who was the last major shareholder. Shouldn't you be grateful to me?"

'Somehow, why can I here another Brian on the other side? Did he get this complaining from his grandfather perhaps?' she thought.

"I apologize I was kind of busy and I know that you would be too with the proposal I have given. Please rest assured that I trust you and is grateful to you for helping out this ghost major shareholder of yours."

She heard him scoffing on the other side but she knew he was already pacified.

"It was indeed difficult but give me another month or two and I would be able to get the contract," he then said after a while.

"Well, this is for the benefit of the both of us anyway. Getting it is a must," she said back.

'Though I would apologize in advance, there really is something I am planning for this. Once you get this, we will have to do more things and all of these are for the future,' she added in her mind.

"I don't know the real reason why you are making me do this. I know this is not merely a suggestion for I can tell that you are a cunning one in the business world. But I will warn you, if the Empire will be put at stake I will make sure to hunt you down."

Amber stuck out her tongue, 'When that time comes, I think you would be grateful instead. Do you think I didn't know how much you hated Clark Price? He stole so many things from you, projects, land prospects and many more.'

'Once I bring them down, it would be for the benefit of all of us. I know for a fact that Price was the current leading Empire and was somehow applying pressure on all of you. So be grateful I am including you in my plans.'

"I understand, I will see to it that nothing will happen to your Empire with this proposal. I am just giving you more options to expand," Amber answered.

Another scoff coming from the other side, "Make sure you do that."

He hung up and Amber could only shake her head as she look at the phone.

"Seriously all these geezers have different personalities that taking care of them is truly too much."

She took a deep breath and watched the cars below and how the night lights twinkle in the darkness of the night.

"One more, just one more, after that it will be the real battle. That doesn't mean I will attack instantly, I'll have to wait even more after all these preparations there is waiting. I really am a patient person, aren't I? Mother? Father?"

She spoke as she held unto her necklace.
