300 You Really Spoil Your Wife

"What is this all about? Why did you sign it knowing that you can't sell it to us? Is this how you repay the Empire?"

"Sir, you have heard her. She wouldn't sell it if I didn't sign it. She would hold unto it and with it she will have more authority than us for she will have more shares than us," he answered.

"There has to be some way to pursuade her. Or is it that?"

Harvey furrowed his brows as he looked at his grandfather.

"I can tell that there was some kind of connection between the two of you. What was it? Why did you so easily accepted her condition?" David said with gritted teeth.

He can never accept it, this one has more shares that the heir? The heir could only share with the whole family while this one had more than that.

This one should just be the shadow, his favorite should be the one having more power.

"Ashton is my friend," Harvey finally said after a few seconds of silence.

David's eyes grew wide as rage started bubbling up inside him, he wanted to hit this man no matter what.

And he did, he threw the pen holder in his table hitting Harvey in the forehead. Blood tricked down but Harvey remained standing.

"You dare befriend that man who only knows how to fail. I can already look past you befriending someone from another Empire but you just have to go and befriend that person."

"If you were going to befriend someone then at the very least befriend Glenn Price, then maybe you would be able to learn more form him," he was truly raging mad right now.

"Grandfather what is going on? Why are you so mad? You have to calm down or you might end up raising your blood pressure," anotehr person came in.

He has a flippant attitude and this was something Harvey had been ignoring all this time, though currently after being slapped by the truth by Amber he couldn't help but to feel anger rising up inside him, towards this person.

This was his elder brother, the reason why he was not the heir and the reason why his father was so proud of him. It is because he was supporting his brother.

Henzler Carter, two years older than him at the age of 30 but still has no wife for he was enjoying his bachelorhood where he plays around with any woman.

~"This is my protection."~

As he looked at his brother, Amber's words resounded in his mind. She was willing to be the villain of others for the protection of those whom she holds dear.

While Harvey was thinking about it, David started telling Henzler what had happened few minutes ago.

"I would have wanted to meet that woman."

Harvey looked at his brother and squinted his eyes he could tell what was going on in that mind of his. He was thinking of flirting with Amber.

~"This is my protection."~

Like a destroyed casset tape, playing over and over again those same words in his mind.

Seeing the approving look of his grandfather, Harvey gritted his teeth.

"She was Ashton Wright's fiance," he opened his mouth and said.

His brother scoffed, "Still a fiance? No matter, once she tasted me she would forget that little fiance of hers."

Harvey decided to not say anything, he said was not is. She was already married to Ashton after all.

Harvey wanted to ask them as well, "Do you want to go against the underworld then?"

But he knew it was still premature, Ashton may already have some influence but that doesn't mean he was already the king in it. But just as they knew, just a bit more and they would surely reach it.

"If we are going to talk about such stupid things then I will be taking my leave, I still have more things to do," Harvey no longer wanted to face them.

The truth was already slapped to him, does he really still want to act like he didn't know?

"Stay right there young man, we are just saying things if there is a chance. Your brotehr was right, you could have introduced her since you knew her then maybe we wouldn't be facing such predicament right now," David roared.

Harvey laughed, for the first time in a long while, he finally saw just how martyr he was. His grandfather had been asking him for so many unreasonable things.

Sunch as graduating with his brother's name since his brother didn't want to study.

Or doing some work in his brother's name because he was not feeling well after having so much to drink the night before.

"How dare you laugh at me," finding this insulting, David once again threw something towards him.

This time he evaded it, "Are you sure grandfather? You still want to act this way in front of me? You do remember right, it may just be a minor share but compared to my brother who was the heir, it is still bigger."

"You trash!!"

Harvey shook his head, "Well this trash of your grandson was th eone graduated from the university with high colors, it is this grandson of yours who closed so many deals."

David scoffed, "So you act this way now? Just because of that measely share? Know your place young man."

Henzler was even shaking his head as if disapproving of the attitude Harvey was showing.

'Just what did this person achieve to act this way towards me? He was the heir but does that mean he did anything?'

Harvey was sighing inside, so this is the outcome of all his effort for the Empire after all these years. Such disappointment indeed.

Without giving them another look, he turned around and left the office. Despite his nager towards Amber he knew she was right, just what kind of protection was he giving to the Empire when those at the top are not protecting it at all.

He heard another crash coming from the office but he no longer care, he still has something he needs to do for the price of the shares he had acquired.

He finally remembered Russel after she had left, she was the one person he promised he'd protect but was unable to do so. It is also because of his devotion for the Empire.

'Maybe this is the time to fulfill that promise,' he thought as he looked up in the sky.

He has no desire to go home anyway, his father who taught him to protect the Empire would surely berate him for not doing something for the Empire by giving it to his brother.

He sighed, he felt really heavy.

By the time he returned to his senses his car was already parked near Natan restaurant. He knew if the information that Russel was currently working here and he squinted his eyes when he saw some men watching the restaurant.

With a thought he gave Ashton a call.

"I'm amazed you're still calling me," was Ashton's greetings.

"If I am facing you now, I might have hit you hard for bringing your lady in our Empire," was his answer.

"I didn't bring her, from the get go she was already destined to get to your Empire. Have you forgotten that she had already been to the others?"

Harvey scoffed, "Your lucky you are her fiance, she didn't need to touch your Empire."

"Who said that?"

He was stunned by this answer.

"She has something on your Empire?" he couldn't help but ask.

"Why did you call?" Ashton didn't answer and instead asked.

"Do you still have your people watching Russel Bareford?"

"No, she had me pull them out. She said if something were to happen to Russel then it shall be your fault and your conscience," Ashton replied like it really was not their concern.

"Are you really that stupid? Both of you? What if I didn't come? What would you have done when there are already people watching the restaurant closely?" he asked in exaspiration.

"You do know who is Russel's current companion right? Of course if something were to happen to her then you will be against not just my Empire but the underworld as well."

Harvey gulped, he could hear coldness coming from Ashton. No more tha warmth in the past even the one who begged then to help Amber when he was not around.

"You really spoil your wife," was all he could say.
