319 I Found This In Your Things

Her intuition kicked in a while ago, when she got into that cab. She felt like she must not and instead call for Ashton.

She just brushed it off and poof, magic, she was now the one kidnapped.

'Was it four months ago? That my brothers were kidnapped and then Russel and now me. Wow was this a trend or something to those people surrounding me?'

She knew her current situation was dire and all but being depressed over it wouldn't help her.

Her hand was handcuffed at the headboard of the bed she was currently in, she can still sit down and look around but it was obvious that she wouldn't see anything.

A small window was close to the ceiling and through it all she can see from her position was the branches of the trees.

'Come to think of it, the most pressing matter at hand was the fact that their sleeping gas worked on me. Though I must say the sleeping gas could knock out a horse, just what do they think about me?'

She also felt a bit paralyzed.

'With all these I can presume that the side effect has already disappeared. I haven't had those sudden attack of weakness. If it was not for me making sure that my body was used to poison I would surely be unable to move right now.'

Those years of poisoning herself was not for a naught. She can tell that if not for that and her immunity had disappeared as well, then she would be unable to move right now. Not even her finger.

'But then, who would want to abduct me? No one should be able to equate me to Nathalie Price, then it was only me being Amber Wood that was taken. But why? Hmmmm.'

Despite her situation, Amber couldn't help but to laugh at herself. She seemed to have created quite a lot of enemies as Amber Wood. If they find out about it then they could join hands and attack her.

'Anyway, let's see then. Ah, no there's no point in thinking about it,' she then realized something.

Ashton once told her that the main base of Black Spade gang was hidden in a mountain. Not exactly hidden for a lot of tycoons knew of it.

It was when she told him about the gang that was hired by the Price Empire to assassinate her family.

'And since no one knew about my identity as Nathalie Price yet therefore I am Amber Wood, there is one person that came up in my investigation during Madison's kidnapping back then,' she started thinking.

Thinking and talking to herself allows her to calm down and get the gist of her current situation.

She found it confusing that people whom Ashton trusted back then would leave someone they were assigned to in the same day that the person was kidnapped.

So as she asked around, she found one thing the others wonder as well.

'Quite a smart plan indeed, no one paid attention to her name being brought up. And back then she was being trusted by most of the family members.'

The door to the room opened and came a lady who has an angelic face with an angelic smile.

Amber smiled in return, "Hi, there Carla. It has been a while, hasn't it?"

Carla squinted her eyes at her, "You don't seem shock to see me here."

"Hmmm, let's just say that your little name came up during the investigation of Madison's kidnapping. Sine it was unusual, this one made sure to remember it."

"I see, but then how will you connect me to the Black Spade gang?"

"Do you really want to know? It would be a long story though," Amber replied propping her head on her hand that was resting on her knees.

She looks like someone who was just here to have a talk instead of someone being abducted and held captive.

This irritate Carla as she sat down on the chair that was near the bed.

"Could you be stalling time?" she asked looking confident.

"Let me warn you though, no matter how much you stall time. They wouldn't be able to find you, not even Ash himself," she added.

Amber acted like she was thinking, before looking back at Carla with the same smile as she gave a while ago, "So, are you telling me to tell you how I got you connected with the Black Spade gang in a round about manner?"

Carla's lips twitched for she couldn't find the fear she longed to see in Amber.

"By the way, I found this in your things," Carla then said, raising a certain bottle with her hand.

Carla shook the bottle and looked at Amber once again with a vicious look, "Too bad, you threw your bag off the window. I wonder what you were hiding for you to throw it away the moment you realized that something was wrong."

Amber shrugged.

The bottle was the glue remover for her mask.

As for the bags, when she felt that something was amiss with the cars surrounding the cab she threw it out of the window, with all the cars moving fast in that highway, it is no wonder if anything within it would survive.

'I guess it is also a good thing that I only brought the phone for Cooper and the police force. They were the ones I need to contact anyway, I guess I am lucky on that part?' was her thoughts before she felt her head going to the side and her cheek stung.

'Wow, should I say ouch in here? How long has it been since I felt this with this kind of thing?' she still though which agitated Carla even more for Amber was not focusing on her at all.

So with that she gave her another slap on her other cheek.

Amber sighed before finally looking at Carla, "You're quite an attention seeker, aren't you?"

Carla gritted her teeth before grabbing Amber's hair, "Are you aware of your situation right now? I think you are forgetting that you are currently not in a position to be sarcastic. You should understand that you should be begging for your life instead."

At her peripheral view, Amber could see a gun on Carla's clothes. She knew she mustn't agitate her further or she would end up being hit by it.

"What do you want from me then?" she finally asked seriously.

Amber needs to by more time, as much time as possible, they took her ring away, together with the other things but they didn't get her necklace. Maybe because of her clothes, she was wearing a turtle neck topper and that hid her necklace.

But since it was still with her, she can tell that if Ashton couldn't find her, he would remember the tracker in the necklace of her and her brothers.

Then again the necklace was so old and her father was a real amazing person, the tracker was not in the pendant or in the clasp. It was among the chains in the lace.

Not even Amber or her brothers have any idea where it was for there were almost 100 chains in the lace of the necklace.

That is why, unless they were lucky or destroyed the necklace as a whole. The tracker would remain intact. Even if they did find the necklace and took it, Amber still has a lost of chance to get help and be rescued.

"I said, I wonder if you would be wearing a whole mask if I were to disfigure you even more?" Carla then said and since Amber was in deep thoughts she didn't know where Carla got the knife she was now holding.

"I just want to know something before we go to that disfiguring part," Amber looked straight in Carla's eyes and asked.

There is something she couldn't understand, unless Carla was a completely twisted person, after getting the clues back in Madison's kidnapping and now that her suspicions were confirmed.

Carla squinted her eyes, "Fine, I'll give you a chance."

"If you really love Ashton why did you watch him succumb to the darkness instead of saving him?"

Her question was so genuine that Carla was taken aback, her grip on Amber's hair loosened as she stared back at Amber's eyes that was staring back at her with clearness.

Even Carla had to search for an answer for this question.

"Why do you care anyway?" she got ahold of herself and asked in return.

"I wonder myself," was Amber's reply.

But she already has an answer, she just want to understand even just for a bit how Carla's mind works.

She knew she was plain evil but her as an example then maybe in the future when Amber encounter's more people like her, she would be even more prepared.

'Or I could just take them down the moment they showed signs of being like her? How evil was I? Truly how evil was my mind?'

And if not for her current situation, she would have laughed already.
