320 It Felt So Long

"Very well, but let me inform you no matter how much you buy time, no one would be able to find you here. And no one would dare to come here, this is a very dangerous place. Not even Ashton could enter."

'Of course I am aware of the fact that this is the place of one of the top underworld gang in the world. But well, I can just trust Ash that he wouldn't come here to have some suicidal attempt in trying to save me,' Amber replied in her mind.

But she remained listening to Carla, this person loves it when people have their attention on her after all.

Amber has no desire of being slapped around by this person just because she suddenly butted in or that she showed she was not listening.

"As for your question, isn't it simple? I did, I did my best to be with him and pull him away but he just didn't want to. No matter what approach I make, he just wouldn't budge," slowly her face distorted and it became even more vicious.

'Yup, Ashley's endearment to me applies to her even more now. Never thought an angelic face could have such a devilish look. I wonder how I look when I end up torturing that person back then, I do remember those grown ups looking pale and feeling weak,' Amber once again thought as she looked at Carla.

She had been explaining and explaining of her love for him and of Madison getting in the way just because she went abroad to study.

And Amber could tell clearly that she was but a twisted hearted and mind person who wants everything for herself. Once she has her eyes on something or someone then she should get it no matter what and no one else must have it.

"And you," then Carla pointed at her and her face are filled with agitation.

"You came into the picture and he no longer looks at me even just for a bit. That's right, everything is your fault," she slowly stood up with her hands holding the knife tightly.

'Now this is bad news,' Amber thought, she looked around and couldn't find anything that could protect her from this crazy person.

"It's you, it's you, it's you," Carla repeatedly said and with trembling hands started aiming at Amber.

Amber could only raise her arm in order to protect herself. Wounds started appearing as the knife was repeatedly aimed at her.

"Because of you I lost everything, because of you that bastard even touched me, now you're here, I will make you suffer. Yes I will make you suffer," Carla turned mad as she kept going, this time no longer just aiming on one side but instead started aiming at her body as a whole.

Not stabbing it on her but instead just enough to graze or wound her.

'I really hate pain after all,' Amber thought as blood tricked down the wounds on her body.

Her clothes were slashed here and there and her blood just flowed.

Amber's eyes shifted when she saw the tattoo on his hand, the same one she saw on those people years ago.

Though what she did see back then was a small one in a man's ear. Yet that little one were left in her memory as clear as a sunny day. Despite not knowing why, that tattoo was what caught her attention on that stormy day.

And as she started investigating, she found out that it was not just a simple tattoo but instead it was a mark of someone who was in a certain group.

'Finally, I finally meet them again,' she wanted to cry.

Despite her situation, she felt emotional.

After almost ten years of working hard, she finally reached the bottom of the mountain she needs to climb in order to reach all her goals.

It felt so long, so very long.

But she didn't show any of this as that man apprehend Carla who was still trying to free herself and harm Amber.

"Stop, the boss said not to harm her body for it might be sold for a lot," the man said.

Carla laughed, "With such a hideous scar, how can someone like her be sold for a lot??"

The man clicked his tongue, this woman had been saying that this other woman had a hideous scar at the same time the mask just wouldn't come off no matter what they did. That's when Carla told them that, there was a special glue remover for it.

"Just give me that liquid then we can decide whether she can be sold a lot or not," the man replied in an agitated voice.

This woman has a beautiful face and a beautiful body but when she opens her mouth, all of them just wanted to tape her mouth.

"Hey, that man over there," just then Amber who had been watching them, spoke up.

The man who was in his mid thirties looked at her in confusion.

"Your tattoo on your finger, was that part of your sign as member of this gang?"

He furrowed his brows even more, this woman, despite being held captive. Despite being wounded all over, she was sitting there like a boss even asking him question in a confident manner.

"The person being captive should just remain silent and stop asking questions. You are in no position to be doing that," he instead replied before looking back at Carla.

"Just do it, we need to see her face and the scar you were talking about."

Carla gritted her teeth, despite having some freedom around here, she has no power at all. She was just someone acquainted with Glenn Price, one of their best partners.

"Hmmmm," Amber once again interrupted.

"I want to ask one more thing, about eight years ago in Star country. Were you among those who were sent to assassinate a certain family?"

Amber had no choice, she had to buy more time and that means she needs to talk with them even more. If they were to see her face then that would mean that they would already have a decision and that is to know why she was alive.

And when they call their boss, he would call the Price and everything would be over by then.

But if she was able to buy enough time, even if she spoke of that assassination then she can still make the talk longer, even if they doubt her identity, what they'll think is that she could be a witness instead.

'I just hope the Price Empire still kept quiet about Nathalie being alive. But if they already said it to these people, Ash should have heard of it already, that someone is starting a search for me,' she thought taking this gamble.

The man stared at her as he tried to think back to the time and place she had just said. And if he was not mistaken, that mission was of top priority to all of them, those who succeeded rise in position and fame.

He just entered back then that is why he couldn't join in, but among the top brass, the three who took the mission, was there.

He squinted his eyes at Amber while Amber smiled confidently at him, "Seeing how young you look, you must not be there at all. So those who was there, were they sure everything was clear back then?"

She can keep going like this, even if its just about thirty or so minutes. She can tell by the look of the sky that she must already be gone for about seven hours now, anytime now Ashton would surely come.

"Who are you?" the man finally asked, turning serious.

Amber smiled, "Why don't you call for those people for now, then maybe we can talk about that incident?"

Carla looked at them back and fort, she does not get what is going on.

Seeing this, Amber thought up of another idea, she was wearing her scar anyway and even with the glue remover for the mask, the scar wouldn't be removed so easily. It was as realistic as possible.

"Have you ever wondered Carla?" she then asked.

She knew Carla didn't look into her at all, when she appeared or what she looked like. She knew, what this person know was that she came and asked for an engagement.

"What?" Carla asked with furrowed brows.

"Where I got this scar?" Amber smiled as she pointed at her mask.

'Oh please tell me you didn't know,' was her thoughts.

She was truly gambling both with her life and her identity here.

Carla could help her buy more time, if she says that she has no idea or that she didn't care then this talk could become even longer.

As for her face from the past, Amber had already deleted as much pictures as possible in order to make it believable that for so long, she already had the scar.
