The bright sunlight pierced the curtains of Yu Yingyi and Song Liya's room. Yu Yingyi held up her hand to block the sunlight from blinding her. After waking herself up, Yu Yingyi opened the door to see Song Liya cooking.

"Good morning, I made breakfast. Are you hungry?"

"Good morning to you too," Yu Yingyi said with a yawn. "And yes, I'm hungry. I barely ate anything last night."

"I could tell, you came home with sluggish movements, I had to carry you to make sure you wouldn't fall," Song Liya said while lifting her arms. "I carried you like a princess."

Yu Yingyi felt embarrassed. Never in her life has she ever experienced the "Princess Carry" before. This was her first time and she doesn't even remember it. Yu Yingyi didn't whether she wanted to experience it or not.

"I see, I don't remember it but I'm sure you enjoyed it," Yu Yingyi said.

"Of course, I did. I even got to change your clothes and see what was under there without you resisting," Song Liya said with a grin.

Yu Yingyi looked down to see she was wearing different clothes than the ones she was wearing yesterday.

"You..." Yu Yingyi's words trailed off as her face began to heat up. "You pervert!"

After screaming at Song Liya, Yu Yingyi walked towards her room to change while muttering, "Perverted girlfriend."

While they were on the topic of clothing, Yu Yingyi but stopped midway to glance back at Song Liya to see what she was wearing. Yu Yingyi wasn't sure if she was seeing things correctly.

Song Liya was dressed in an attire. Within Yu Yingyi's vision, she could see that the attire consisted of a blouse that was tucked into the wrap-around skirt. It was a red color with golden patterns aligned on the sleeves and at the ends of the skirt.

"Liya, why are you dressed this nicely while you're cooking? Aren't you worried you might dirty it or burn it?" Yu Yingyi asked with confusion and concern in her voice.

"Hmm?" Song Liya asked as she looked down. "Did you forget? Last night, you told me you wanted to take me out for dinner so I'm wearing this."

Yu Yingyi froze, she couldn't tell if Song Liya was speaking nonsense or if she was serious because she was too tired to remember. Moreover, she had another question to ask.

"Why are you wearing the attire now? There's still a long time until dinner starts."

Song Liya smirked, "This is only a piece of the full set. Since it's been a while since we've had dinner together, I decided to make this one special. "

"Wasn't I the one who asked you out? I should be the one who's dressing up and setting everything up."

"That's true, but I decided to take over. When I mentioned that you said you would take me out for dinner, confusion was written all over your face so I figured you don't remember anything."

"Ah..you caught me," Yu Yingyi muttered as she smiled sheepishly.

"It's fine, moreover, hurry up and eat before the food gets cold. Considering the way you're dressed, don't you have somewhere to go?"

*****

Shortly after eating breakfast, Yu Yingyi hurried to the shop where they were going to meet up. Along the way, she greeted countless citizens who greeted her as she replied back with a bright smile. The city was peaceful, nobles and commoners held no grudges between each other.

The only problem was that the city was developing too slow, technology and inventions were slowed since not a lot of people cared about designing, they wanted to do what paid them the most which were selling jades.

Yu Yingyi thought about it for a while, jades had no reason to become this high value unless it was part of ancient culture. Ever since Yu Yingyi made enough money off of jades, she stopped making them.

What was astonishing was the fact that a lot of nobles spent large amounts of money on a piece of jade. Yu Yingyi decided to look into why the citizens cared about jades so much. She found out that-

"Yu Yingyi! Yu Yingyi!"

"Yu Yingyi! Are you there?"

Two voices snapped Yu Yingyi out of her thoughts. When she was back in real life, three figures were in front of her.

"Sorry, Mei Xiang. I was in deep thought while we were talking. Could you repeat what we were discussing again?" Yu Yingyi asked.

Mei Xiang let out a helpless sigh. "I could tell you were in deep thought, you looked like you were in your own world. I'll repeat it one last time, you better not get lost in your own little world again."

Yu Yingyi nodded in reply as Mei Xiang continued.

"As I already said, Nian Zhen will lead us into the restaurant and bring us to one of the workers who knew of the rumor. After gaining information, Nian Zhen will guide us into the basement where the intruder was said to have gone and we'll use Yu Yingyi's authority if they don't let us in. And from there on, we'll let things play out."

Yu Yingyi was now the one with the helpless expression. "Aren't you telling us to just go in and see how things go? How is this different than having no plan at all?"

"I said the same thing, but she wouldn't budge at all so we just agreed on it," Qing Shan said.

Yu Yingyi glanced at Nian Zhen who also nodded.

"Mei Xiang, this plan, shouldn't you rethink it over?" Yu Yingyi asked worriedly.

"There's no need to revise, this is fine. If we plan it, things might be different and we'll have no backup plans for it. It's better to just go for it."

Yu Yingyi didn't say anything since Mei Xiang had a point. Planning things took a while and if things didn't go according to the plan, troublesome things could appear and things would gradually become worse.

"Alright, let's do as you say then."
