Chapter 26 - 23

"So, my dear Yu Yingyi, what do you have to say for yourself?"

Yu Yingyi didn't know what to say, in the past, she's told Song Liya that she didn't love her or would ever love her. Now here she was being the one to initiate their first kiss.

"I don't have anything to say for myself, didn't my actions already explain it?"

"You're not wrong, but tell me, do you feel the same way I do?"

As Song Liya asked this question, she placed Yu Yingyi on the ground gently.

"I think I...I don't know how to explain it. I think I feel the same way you do but it's slightly different because I didn't know I could feel this way about girls, it's a bit confusing."

"So in simpler words, your love hasn't reached where my love is. So basically, you're feelings are in between the part where it separates the line in like and love."

"That's how it is I guess, I'm still confused about myself. Sorry if I disappointed you."

"Nope, you didn't disappoint me at all. If anything, I'm grateful enough that you feel this way about me, I thought this was never going to happen."

"Huh? You thought this was never going to happen? So you knew that I didn't love you at all the entire time?"

"It didn't take a genius to figure that out, you always had that face of hatred or disgust whenever I spoke to you or did anything to you. It was honestly kind of amusing, but I could understand why you didn't like me back then. The way I acted was vicious and cunning but I couldn't help it."

Yu Yingyi was surprised at the words of Song Liya, in the novel, no, this isn't the time to talk about the novel right now. She never expected Song Liya to change the way she acted to make her like her back.

Yu Yingyi could say that this technique was successful, after all, look where it led her to. She was already surprised when Song Liya didn't say anything harsh to her back in the carriage, so this was why.

Yu Yingyi suddenly wanted to laugh, it felt like reality still hasn't hit yet. They went from having a competition to dancing, and somehow it ended up like this. She didn't regret it though, if anything, she was grateful it led to this since Yu Yingyi was able to discover a new part of herself.

Maybe her creativity in architecture would broaden too, hehe.

"Thank you for changing for me, but it wasn't like I hated the way you acted back then, I kind of enjoyed it honestly."

The awakening of Yu Yingyi's masochist side has started...

"Ha?! What were you thinking back then?"

"I thought you were like a knight, a fierce knight but just not in shining armor cause the aura you had was dark."

"Haha! I get what you mean, the cunning and manipulative personality I had would definitely cut out the shining part. Nonetheless, I'm surprised you'd picture me as a knight."

"Tsk, you're not me so how would you know what I'm thinking." Yu Yingyi said with a hmph at the end.

"I guess you're right," said Song Liya as she wrapped her arms around Yu Yingyi's waist and planted her head on Yingyi's shoulder. "Let me stay like this for a moment, I need to savor moments like these."

"Savor it as much as you can cause there won't be a lot of times like these." Yu Yingyi said with a chuckle.

"Hmm? If there won't be times like these, why don't we just make one?" Song Liya said sweetly.

*THUMP* *THUMP*

Yu Yingyi's heart felt like it would leap out of her chest when Song Liya said those words. The thought of spending time with Song Liya and recreating moments like dancing and...

"You're thinking of something dirty aren't you? I can tell since your already red cheeks are getting even redder." Song Liya teased.

"Sh-shut up! Just so you know it's all your fault! Look at the position we're in, I could help it, and don't embarrass me like that. Jeez!" Yu Yingyi felt like she was turning into those "dere" girls from Japan.

"Haha~ You're cute when you're embarrassed." Song Liya teased once again.

Fumes were coming out of Yu Yingyi's ears, it felt like her cheeks could fry an egg, that was how hot her cheeks were.

"Song Liya."

"Yes, darling?"

"I like you."

"I love you too."

"That's not what you're supposed to say, you're supposed to say I like you too," said Yu Yingyi.

"Why should I? I'm just being honest with you." Song Liya replied.

Because the words were pleasant, Yu Yingyi suddenly felt shy and started admiring the design of the floor.

Song Liya knew exactly what Yu Yingyi was thinking, she lifted Yu Yingyi's chin and made them lock eyes. Another electric shock shot through their bodies, they both felt even more drawn to each other.

Right as Song Liya could plant her lips on Yu Yingyi's lips again, there was a loud growl coming from Yu Yingyi's stomach.

"Are you hungry?" asked Song Liya.

"Well, I haven't eaten anything since I woke up so I'm quite hungry," said Yu Yingyi.

"Now that you've said it, I'm getting hungry too. I have a question Yu Yingyi."

"It better not be what I'm thinking."

"Can I eat you?"

"I knew you were going to ask this and no, you cannot eat me. I want to eat some actual food. Do we have any food?" asked Yu Yingyi.

"Hmm, let me check," said Song Liya as she finally parted away from Yu Yingyi.

Who knew how long Song Liya was pinning Yu Yingyi to the wall.

Song Liya checked the cabinets, the fridge, and anywhere that food could be placed. Unfortunately, there were no ingredients or even snacks anywhere.

"There isn't any food right?" Yu Yingyi guessed.

"Yep, it looks like we'll have to go out to eat," said Song Liya.

"Huh? Yu Yingyi wasn't sure if she heard that correctly, did she say that they were going OUT to eat?

"You heard me right, we're going to go out to eat. There are no chefs in the palace at the moment and their kitchen is probably emptied out because of the banquet," said Song Liya.

"So we're actually going out to eat? At an actual restaurant where there's actual food?" Yu Yingyi asked, she was still surprised.

"Yep, I know a perfect place for us to eat. Go get ready cause we're going to leave immediately."

"Yes!" Yu Yingyi said excitedly.
