Chapter 27 - 24

Yu Yingyi followed Song Liya behind the carriage that would drive them to the restaurant Song Liya was talking about. Even after a while, Song Liya still hasn't told Yu Yingyi where they were going to eat.

"Why can't you tell me where we're going to eat?" Yu Yingyi whined.

"No matter how cute you try to act, I won't tell you where we're going since it's a surprise. But I can tell you one thing though," said Song Liya.

"What can you tell me?"

"I purposely emptied out all the food we had and hid it somewhere so I could take you there. This was supposed to come after the dancing but it unexpectedly took a different turn and the restaurant had to come later. Oops, it seems like I've said too much."

Yu Yingyi stared at Song Liya in shock, did that mean that she planned to take her out to dinner from the beginning? That would mean she'd have to plan this a day before...well since it was Song Liya, the "cunning" and "genius" princess, it wasn't surprising she was able to pull this off.

And Yu Yingyi felt right into the trap, as expected. At this point, Yu Yingyi gave up on asking and relaxed into her seat. It was comfortable for a wooden seat, unlike the modern world where it would make your butt hurt.

It wasn't pleasant.

"Yu Yingyi, how was your life like before I met you?" asked Song Liya.

"What's this suddenly?" Yu Yingyi asked.

"Nothing, I suddenly felt the urge to learn more about you since you haven't told me a lot about your past, in return, I'll tell you about my past" Song Liya replied.

Yu Yingyi felt cold sweat drop down from her forehead, it wasn't that there wasn't anything to share about her life, it was that she had two lives since she was transmigrated into this world. Plus, she already knew about Song Liya's past from the novel, there's no need to hear about it again.

"It's fine, I'll tell you about my life, there's no need to tell me about your past since I can probably guess what it was like," said Yu Yingyi.

"I guess so."

"Well," Before Yu Yingyi continued, she thought about her past life's events for a moment. "I grew up in an average family, though I'm not sure if you know what average means we weren't rich nor were we poor, we were just in between. I grew up in the same household all my life, everything was fine."

"But things started going downhill when my father and mother started to have arguments, it started off slowly but the arguments became more frequent as time went on. One day, my mother had enough and signed divorce papers and kicked my father out of the house."

"From that point on, my mother started to work all day and come back late at night when I was asleep. After seeing my mother grow more and more tired, I decided to learn. With my interest in architecture, I used the knowledge I had and started making jades until I was good at it, luckily, jade was very well-known so I started up a business and started making money off of it."

"It was like that until I met you," said Yu Yingyi.

There was a mix of Yu Yingyi's past life's history and this life's history so the story would seem more realistic. She wouldn't have to choose between one life's events.

"That's a bit of a tragic and sad story, I'm not sure what to tell you since my life was never like that, I had everything I wanted and I had no struggles in my life," said Song Liya.

"You don't need to say anything, it's all in the past anyway. Switching the topic, are we there yet?" asked Yu Yingyi.

Song Liya glanced out the window. "We're here and when we go in, try not to be that surprised."

Yu Yingyi mentally prepared herself for what was going to come. Knowing how Song Liya was, the restaurant they were going to was probably part of royalty and insanely luxurious.

The restaurant is called Tian Shang Restaurant, it was beautiful and lavishly decorated with low lighting which gave it a romantic atmosphere. The walls were designed with artwork and classical music could be heard faintly in the background. Each table had tablecloths and napkins placed carefully.

When Song Liya made contact with one of the managers, they were immediately led towards a private room with a table and two chairs that were meant for them and the best part was that there was a cart that contained the food so they wouldn't have to wait.

Yu Yingyi couldn't help but look around with her jaws wide open.

"You better close your jaws before people start thinking of you as weird."

Yu Yingyi immediately shut her mouth and sat down on the seat as Song Liya took the seat across from her. Everything seemed a bit too royalty-like, she felt a bit out of place, she was disguising herself as a man too!

"Song Liya, isn't this a bit too much? I expected it to be luxurious, but isn't this more than what luxurious and fancy meant?"

"What're you talking about? This is normal?"

Yu Yingyi facepalmed herself, since Song Liya was a princess, she must've gone to many fancy restaurants that this was something normal.

As expected, for someone who's lived an average life in both lives, there was no way she could get used to this.

The food servers placed the food that was covered with a lid. After placing it carefully so there would be space on the table, they quickly bowed and left in a hurry.

It seems that the princess's appearance was that much of an influence.

"Then, shall we dig in?"

"You didn't have to ask, I'm starving."

With that said, Yu Yingyi stuffed herself with roasted duck, pork, steamed dumplings, and soup. It was basically heaven for the two, even the aroma of the foods was alluring. It was safe to say that this was the best dinner Yu Yingyi's had in her life.

As they were eating, the romantic atmosphere started to influence Yu Yingyi and somehow, she felt like Song Liya was beautiful even when she was eating. Everything about Song Liya was much more noticeable with the light shining on her.

It made Song Liya's hair glisten and her eyes looked like they were sparkling.

Yu Yingyi noticed every detail of it.

All the way to Song Liya's perfectly shaped nose to her soft pink lip, to her slender arms and long fingers, to her nails that were cut perfectly. Basically, everything about Song Liya is perfect in Yu Yingyi's eyes.

Suddenly, her mind drifted somewhere else.

'I wonder what else could those fingers do...'

This time, Yu Yingyi managed to keep the blush in so she didn't expose herself, however, it seems that she was staring for too long.

"Hmm? Is there something on my face?" asked Song Liya.

"Nope, I was just admiring the background and the food." Yu Yingyi quickly made up an excuse.

"I see, your architecture instincts seem to be awakening huh? This restaurant was designed by professional architects who wander through the world designing things for royal families."

"Is that so?"

Yu Yingyi asked before focusing back on her food, thankfully Song Liya didn't catch her staring.

That was when Song Liya said something completely abnormal.
