Who told that brat to get on Ji Yao's good side and try and rob his cute sister? Okay, cute isn't the right word to describe her but who cares?
That's when Ji Yao realised he was surrounded by pig teammates. One who gets blinded by anger and another who follows his older brother's every word. "Give him to him," said Ji Yao while taking out something from his storage ring.
"Huh?"
"What?" Did he hear wrongly just now? Ji Yao wanted him to give the boy to Rui Fei? Wasn't that directly sending the little lamb into the wolves den.
"You heard me. He is now Fei-er's responsibility," he said as he took out some elixirs and pills that could help this poor soul.
"Haha, he can barely take care of a cactus how about an invalid," said Rui Yewan his tone silly but his words truthful. A cactus died in Rui Fei's hands after he decided to raise it as a gift to give to their benefactor when they met her.
"Yes, yes..... a cactus died in my hand and this little bastar-, ahem, I mean boy would most definitely be having an early meet and greet with Meng Po tonight if you live him in my care," he seriously said but this wasn't up for discussion.
Ji Yao dumped all the useful medicines in his hands while saying, "Oh and if he dies it will cost you your birthday gift."
Rui Fei, "..."
"Again with this threat. Yao-ge, it's really not fair. Look at him. He looks half-dead already," he said pointing at the boy who was barely breathing. Yes, it was unreasonable to place this kid's life in Rui Fei's hands all for a birthday gift but Ji Yao sincerely hoped he would learn something from it.
"Oh and if Yewan helps you with your homework he shouldn't bother getting back on Red Bane, okay?" he said staring at Rui Fei but Rui Yewan could feel the SS grade hostility in those words. Rui Yewan completely believed that Ji Yao would keep to his word so he immediately decided to drop this hot potato as fast as possible.
"Sorry," he said but his expression was the perfect example of a sorry, not sorry expression. He carefully placed the boy in Rui Fei's arms as though delivering a newborn and dashed away as fast as possible just in case being in Rui Fei's vicinity is counted as helping.
Rui Fei looked down at the boy curled up in his arms with a hint of resentment in his eyes. But when he thought of Ji Yao's alluring gaze and pink cheeks while straddling him he could only accept this task. His body that had already cooled down threatened to reignite the fire just by thinking of this scene alone.
Shaking his head he tried to place the boy on the ground and feed him the medicine but as he bent down the boy's brows furrowed as he clutched at his lapel refusing to let go. Rui Fei almost rolled his eyes as he tried to unravel those fingers one by one but just as he was at the last pinkie the boy hugged his neck tightly refusing to let go.
"You are fuckin doing this on purpose, aren't you?" he said rubbing his temple in frustration, "Tsk..."
That's when it hit him. Ji Yao only mentioned Rui Yewan's name so this meant everyone else was eligible. With that in mind, he walked to where the others were gathered. While on his way he saw a familiar figure that could be easily mistaken for a pumpkin on Halloween.
Rui Li was trying to light a fire and beside her was a mangled head of a creature. Rui Fei could easily decern what was happening here. No wonder she was hanging around alone. She was up to some sketchy shit and this big brother was ready to give her a scare.
Rui Li who had finally got a tiny spark was bent over blowing air into the small flame completely unaware of someone standing behind her. As soon as a small blaze burst forth within the pile of wood she cheered, "Yes...," when a familiar deep voice said,
"What are you doing?"
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!! For fuc-a-udge sake," she said drastically changing the swear word when she was met by his imposing gaze. She was about to make up some type of silly explanation when the nervous smile on her face stiffened.
"What in the green tea bitch is this?" she said staring at the boy in her brother's hands with disdain. "Are you having an affair? Are you making my saozi wear a green hat?"
Rui Fei's face turned ugly as he explained, "No, I am taking care of him so I can get laid. Oh, that brings me to what I am here for." He leaned down and whispered, "Why don't you take care of him for me and I will buy you as many books as you want?"
Rui Li wasn't tempted at all. She would rather roast the dead creature's head and taste it out of curiosity than take care of this boy. She had been betrayed once and she wasn't willing to be fooled twice. "Nope, not interested," she said sternly as she carried on fanning her flame that was about to go out.
Annoyed Rui Fei snapped his finger and the flame vanished leaving behind a weak puff of smoke. With a smug look, he walked away living behind a dumbfounded Rui Li.
"So childish," mumbled Rui Li kneeling on the ground to start the fire again. As to why Rui Fei didn't stop her from sampling the grilled head it was because since he was being taught a lesson by Ji Yao then he would also bring it forward.
What better lesson was there than the kid trying it for herself and learning a valuable lesson. She would never eat filth again after that.
As Rui Fei approached the oblivious crew to find someone to dump this to Ji Yao suddenly realised how much of a bad idea it was giving this kid to Rui Fei. It shouldn't have been a problem letting Rui Fei take care of an invalid, right?
But why did it look like he had just handed over his husband straight into the mistress's hands? The way he was clinging to his neck like that activated the jealous Qilin in him. A sour feeling rose to his throat threatening to spill over. He glared at Rui Fei with an expression that clearly expressed his displeasure but unfortunately, Rui Fei misunderstood his wangfei.
Thinking he had been caught trying to pass the burden on to others he pretended to be a good older brother and pat the sleeping boy's head before walking away from the crowd.
'Fuck, he actually dared to show off his affection in front of me. He is so dead,' thought Ji Yao thinking of ways to torment Rui Fei. That is to say, Rui Fei is not the only crazy person in this relationship.. It's the degree of craziness that matters.
