Chapter 327 - Happy Wife, Happy Life

There is a saying that goes 'happy wife, happy life' and that's exactly the concept Rui Fei was going for especially when he met Ji Yao's icy cold gaze like he was going to eat someone. He immediately threw away the idea of dumping the burden onto someone else and fled the scene.

He even patted the boy's head with a fake smile as a sign that he was fully accepting the assignment though internally he was imagining himself throwing the boy off the cliff and claiming it was an accident. He was very unhappy that Ji Yao cared for this boy when he looked better than him.

Despite all his attempts to show that he was glad to take on the task Ji Yao's face only grew colder making his body shiver unconsciously.

Finding a place to put the kid down he harshly pulled the unconscious person's hands off his lapel as he spoke through gritted teeth, "Tsk, you are not even as handsome as I am so what so good about you?"

"What did you say," asked an ever so familiar voice that sent shivers all over his body whenever he spoke. His back stiffened wondering how much Ji Yao heard.

Hoping to turn the tables he said, "Aha, I said good boy heal faster so that Yao-ge won't be mad at me anymore."

Lies, lies, all lies but if he told the truth then his sweetheart would get mad. He turned his face away and pursed his lips reading the elixirs Ji Yao gave him with a confused look. His body usually healed on its own unless Ji Yao gave him an elixir to heal faster.

This meant he had zero ideas about which medicine to give or the dose. It's not like the porcelain bottles came with instructions. Rui Fei might have figured it out eventually but with Ji Yao standing there he suddenly felt under pressure.

He didn't want to appear stupid in front of Ji Yao but if he didn't do something now it would appear like he was silently exposing himself.

After opening, closing and sniffing the bottles for the nth time he finally made a decision. Ji Yao on the other hand was no longer eating vinegar but amusedly watched Rui Fei putting up an act like he knew what he was doing.

When he saw Ji Yao open the jade bottle and sniff it he almost took a step forward to stop him but it was too late. Rui Fei's face turned green before he coughed fervently. Ji Yao suppressed a smile but soon he wasn't smiling when he saw the number of pills in Rui Fei's hand and from the looks of it he was intending to administer it to the patient.

Ji Yao crouched down beside him and held his wrist to stop him. Struggling to stop the corner of his lips from quirking up he said, "Are you trying to kill him?" in a joking tone.

'Hey, why didn't I think of that?' thought Rui Fei as he turned to look at Ji Yao. The two stared at each other for a second and Ji Yao could no longer suppress his smile. Feeling his cheeks burn up a little from that intense gaze he lowered his head almost laughing at himself. What was there to be jealous about? He knew Rui Fei only had him in his eyes so why should he be overwhelmed by such an ugly emotion. What he failed to recognize was that humans sometimes can't contain this emotion even when they know their spouse is the most loyal. If humans can't contain such a feeling sometimes then how about a Qilin?

The most jealous Nocru that easily resorts to feeding their lovers blood blended with their seraphic energy just to keep them by their side.

Ji Yao took the bottles from him and handed him a bunch of pills. Rui Fei who had been mesmerised beyond reason was just staring at his lover with an intense gaze. He honestly wanted to ask why Ji Yao loved him when there was nothing good about him except causing trouble. But he would never ask that question out loud.

He unconsciously accepted the pills intentionally brushing his fingers against Ji Yao's. Thinking he needed to get this boy to get better soon so he could spend some alone time with his sweetheart he fed him the pills with zero care.

Ji Yao handed the elixir and Rui Fei pulled down the kid's jaw before pouring out almost half of the contents in the unconscious boy's mouth. "Not so much," said Ji Yao holding his wrist again. He rubbed Rui Fei's skin with his thumb as he continued, "He will choke."

Rui Fei looked down at his wrist that was being caressed by Ji Yao's thumb and suddenly felt this whole ordeal was worth it. "How about that one... do I need to give it to him as well?" asked Rui Fei but in truth, he was just looking for an opportunity to eat some tofu.

Ji Yao stared at the jade bottle that choked Rui Fei earlier when he sniffed it and couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking when he made Rui Fei do this. He wanted to teach Rui Fei about sympathy towards others but the thought of Rui Fei putting ointment on another person's body patient or not the sour feeling rose again from the pit of his stomach.

Ji Yao put on a light smile and said, "it's not important. I will let Old Du take care of it," rubbing the back of his neck as he continued to say, "you, um... you don't have to keep taking care of him. I will assign him to someone so they can take of him."

Rui Fei didn't care why Ji Yao's face had changed this quickly in such a short space of time. That's because to him the process didn't matter only the results.

He excitedly grasped Ji Yao's hand intending to drag him elsewhere but before he managed to whisk his lover away and ride into the sunset the person he intended to ditch just now let out a small pitiful cough as his eyes slowly opened.

Those big round eyes stared at Rui Fei for a moment as he remained unmoved. Ji Yao, who was worried that the kid's head was fried by the creature asked, "How are you feeling? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

But despite his show of concern, the boy didn't answer but his lingering gaze was stuck on Rui Fei. Like a hatchling that had imprinted on the first thing they set their eyes on he pounced on Rui Fei and embraced him while crying.

Rui Fei, "....."

Ji Yao, "WTF!"

Okay, Rui Fei was right.. Ji Yao couldn't help but wish he just pretended not to see anything and let Rui Fei do whatever he wants.
