Ji Yao clenched his jaw as he glared at Rui Fei. Rui Fei who was the most innocent party here stared back at Ji Yao with a pleading gaze that seemed to say, 'I swear I didn't do anything.' He gestured with his eyes to his hands that weren't embracing the kid back.
Ji Yao looked at his hands frozen mid-air and understood what Rui Fei was trying to say. He was basically saying, 'see, I am innocent.' Yes, he knew that his cute cub was innocent but dang why did it annoy him so much.
As though that wasn't enough the kid in Rui Fei's hands suddenly nozzled his neck like a kitten. Ji Yao's body stiffened with his patience stretched taut to the point of snapping. With his tongue pressing hard against his cheek he reached out for the boy's collar and harshly pulled him back.
He even overlooked his problem as he pushed him to the side. His eyes were a bright shade of red as he towered over the minx with a deadly aura.
The kid who had no idea who or what he had offended looked to Rui Fei with a pitiful gaze asking for help. The funny thing was that the person he was asking for help from was the one who wanted to kill him the most. "Gege, help..... *whimper..... I am scared," he said as tears filled his eyes.
Ji Yao was so mad and wanted nothing but to wring the neck of this heartless person who bit the hand that fed him. Clutching the hilt of his sword he took a step forward when Lady Ching Sei suddenly showed up and called out, "Ji Yao."
She had witnessed part of what happened and for a moment saw the Qilin Hao in Ji Yao. It seemed if this continued he would truly end up being like his heartless mother. The funny thing was that Rui Fei didn't even make an effort to stop him despite being one of the people who could stop Ji Yao with a single touch.
He was like a spouse of a serial killer who watched the first murder and chose to do nothing. Though it might appear so that wasn't Rui Fei's thought process.
He didn't want Ji Yao to end up like him but he was also worried if he stops him like he did at Lequ he would be accused of protecting the enemy. Besides his motto was eliminate trouble before trouble starts trouble and that kid had trouble written all over his face.
"Are we setting up camp or spending the night here?" she asked trying to shift his attention from the kid. Ji Yao wanted to say, "Who the fuck is your gege," but on account of his respect for Lady Ching Sei, he swallowed his words back and sheathed his sword before turning to the crew.
"We keep going," he said surrounded by a deadly aura that had the crew frozen in place while their eyes darted around looking for a spot to hide if shit goes south. The weather was already cold but it would be bad if sparks of lightning rained down on them.
Ji Yao didn't say anything after that simply walking forward with an expression that seemed to say, "Stay the fuck away if you know what's good for you."
Rui Fei's heart twisted painfully blaming himself for this. Yes, he like the feeling he gets when Ji Yao is jealous over him but seeing him this upset made him feel unsettled. Though he was exuding a stay away aura, Rui Fei didn't care choosing to run after him.
Sure enough, Rui Fei was unlike the rest. He touched Ji Yao's shoulder and in response, Rui Fei's hand was swatted away. When he acted pitiful Ji Yao even stopped and checked it for him. If it were anyone else who had walked over within a one-meter radius of Ji Yao they would have long tasted the sharp tip of that whip sword.
Lady Ching Sei closed her eyes as she exhaled deeply calming her nerves. Her palms were already sweaty from withstanding that much pressure coming from Ji Yao. When she opened her eyes she stared at the boy was who was clumsily wiping his tears and said, "Our king saved you and the least you can do is be respectful. It's your choice whether to stay here or come with us and you can only follow us on the premise that you keep your hands to yourself," before walking away.
As she passed Xunshi Zhe and Big Hei who had just been enjoying the good show one of them said, "Why not just make him disappear and say he got lost in the woods. I am pretty sure his majesty wouldn't care."
But in response, she glared at them sending a clear threat. "No need to give us that look. We totally understand," said Big Hei while scrutinising her.
Lady Ching Sei seemed to notice his unusual gaze so she asked, "What?"
Big Hei narrowed his gaze with a thoughtful expression and said, "I don't know. Something seems different like....."
"Like you are less stressed. You seem so relaxed like you found an outlet for your pent up frustrations," interjected Xunshi Zhe. To be honest, they had no idea what she had been up to in the bushes and only noticed the change in her but Lady Ching Sei panicked.
Her fierce expression vanished before she stormed off trying to keep calm. When she passed by Zhang Li he tried to talk to his precious sweetheart and possibly get some feedback from the massage session earlier but instead of a review, he got a shoulder so cold that his heart shattered into pieces.
Once he was done throwing a fuss he suddenly looked around looking for the culprit. Someone somewhere had said something to her and ruined their harmonious atmosphere and that someone could only be the two idiots looking at him right now.
As soon as the two melon eaters saw him staring at them they suddenly panicked. Looking away Xunshi Zhe whispered, "Did we stumble upon something we shouldn't?"
"Who is we?" said Big Hei before vanishing on the spot leaving only a cloud of dust.
"You!...." yelled Xunshi Zhe at a loss for words. The second he turned around he met Zhang Li's ugly expression and nervously said, "Hey Cap-captain Zhang... The weather seems very nice today."
While Xunshi Zhe was trying to calm Zhang Li down, Rui Li had suffered so much grievance and wanted to share it with the rest. So like a good-hearted person, she walked around passing skewers of roasted dragonf- uh I mean meat. Juicy roasted meat. She appeared very considerate distributing them like a good samaritan.
The end result was a number of crew members squatting in the bushes while throwing up. She had a lot of victims but wasn't satisfied until she had gotten one special person to eat it.. Siblings suffer together through life and she chose to share her suffering with Rui Yewan.
