Chapter 405 - Priority Number One

She saw no jealousy in Ji Yao's eyes rather the same indifference like he was talking to a stranger. All this time she had been thinking about him and did all this so she could one day stand before him and make him regret letting her go. But in Ji Yao's eyes, she was like an insignificant thing he thought died at sea.

Annoyed she got up and angrily swept everything off the table after she pushed Rui Pianzi off the bench.

Crash!!!! Everything came down taking everyone by surprise. She was so mad at Ji Yao who was clearly blind for not seeing her worth. But before she could say anything at Ji Yao, Xunshi Zhe took out a dagger and placed it on her neck. Gazing at Xunshi Zhe in her peripheral view she saw him shrugging his shoulders and lips.

As the cold chill from the blade permeated through her skin she heard him say, "We can finish off where we left if you want."

Ji Yao tapped the table telling her to sit down. Xiaoyu slowly sat down and swallowed her saliva as the blade left her throat.

She stared at Ji Yao as her eyes stung like she was going to cry. She didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of Ji Yao. She wanted to show him she was strong and worth his time but like always everything went to shit.

"The fact that you survived means that you are strong and can get back to your feet.... And if you can survive it means you can manage to let go. Letting go isn't easy but being free is beautiful Xiaoyu. I am really not worth you wasting your years on especially when you have someone who loves you right beside you," said Ji Yao in a rare moment of gentleness.

He had already rejected her before a dozen times but this was the first time he had gone an extra mile and talked some sense into her.

That revelation had Rui Pianzi stiffen with his gaze straight ahead refusing to move. Just like that, he had been exposed with little effort.

Xiaoyu who had been in the dark this entire time looked at Rui Pianzi but he refused to look at her. It now made sense why he had been feeding her with weird plans lately. The time when the portal opened she wanted to go take a look but he said that if it was anything serious the Concord would deal with it. He also told her to build up her own power so she could one day show Ji Yao what he lost. In his own words, "Show him that you are doing just fine without him." Now there was the waist holding all in the name of making a certain someone jealous which obviously didn't work on a type like Ji Yao.

There was nothing wrong with what he said. He said all the right things but failed to mention he had a thing for Xiaoyu. This is why he had a big reaction when he saw Ji Yao's face. His crush was simping on that kind of face then what chance did he have?

***

While Xiaoyu was getting enlightened, Rui Fei was gearing up at the point of convergence his expression stern but his heart pounding hard against his chest. He couldn't believe that he could finally get to see his lover after so long. He couldn't wait to embrace him and kiss those sweet lips that he had been dreaming of for the past few years.

He wondered what sort of expression Ji Yao would have when he finally sees him. He hadn't changed much but he had most definitely grown taller. The only problem was that he still didn't have any facial hair yet which bothered him.

Thinking he could ask Rui Yewan if there wasn't even a single hair on his face he raised his head and met a dozen people's gazes on him. "What?" he asked as his hand that was tightening his wrist brace froze.

Multiple sighing sounds and the word 'nothing' escaped multiple lips as they went on about their business. It was Huishe Nan who placed his hand on Rui Fei's shoulder saying, "You are smiling so much that you scared the clan."

Rui Fei looked around and saw a few gazes still glancing over in his direction, especially from other clans. Huishe Nan blocked his view by standing in front of him while saying, "Do you know how many clan leaders have been trying to curry favour with me so they can get you to marry their kids?"

Rui Fei shook his head. Of course, he didn't know. So Huishe Nan continued, "Then stop smiling. If I hear another clan leader say 'your genes are so good' I will murder someone."

When they had walked further Huishe Nan tightened his hold on Rui Fei's shoulder indicating that what he was about to say was very important.

"Once that portal opens priority number one is Ji Yao, do you understand?" he explained while taking out a bottle. The contents of the bottle clanked as he placed it in Rui Fei's hand.

Rui Fei looked down at the bottle with a perplexed look so Huishe Nan explained, "Just in case if he doesn't come willingly. You would have no choice but to knock him out... Once we have him it would be relatively easy to deal with Qilin Hao. Her cub is after all her weakness. Once we have her then it would be easy to break through the ranks and get to Qilin San."

Rui Fei couldn't understand still why his grandfather was so adamant about this plan that he even wanted him to drug Ji Yao if he refused to come with him. "Tsk..... I know you aren't stupid. Qilins are sly bastards that we have to keep an eye on. One slip up and they would slip away. After that, they would be very difficult to smoke out..... understand?"

Rui Fei, "....."

What was he supposed to say except nod his head? Ji Yao was already priority number one to him. Even without his grandfather's instructions, he would still run to him first but kidnapping was something not on his radar.

Huishe Nan smiled in satisfaction as he let go of Rui Fei's shoulder and pat the back of the cub's head instead. While his grandfather patted the back of his head his gaze unconsciously fell on the two figures at a distance. One was his grandmother and the other was Wei Wei chained at her wrists.

At that moment Rui Fei couldn't help but ask, "Are you seriously bringing them along." Huishe Nan turned around and saw the two females glaring at each other like a fight was about to break out.

"Wei Wei wants to find her son and as for your Nana..... *sigh you will understand it when you are married."

Rui Fei, "...."
