They is a saying that if one is patient in one moment of anger, they will avoid 100 days of sorrow. This would be especially true for regular folks like us but to Ji Wen, this statement had zero influence.
He was usually a good-tempered person but if you touch his bottom line like this fine gentleman over here, nothing good would come out of it.
Ji Wen tossed the man on the ground with a great enough force to shatter his bone.
The man grimaced in pain as he rolled on the ground holding his broken arm. He had been supplying Prince Rui with kidnapped Nocru women for decades and it was because of this relationship that no one dared to mess with him.
He only involved himself with this great buddha because the offer was rare and intriguing enough that he didn't mind offending Prince Rui. Ji Wen had offered him a rare stone known as necrolight something that could only be found in their motherland.
Even in their homeland, it was rare to find yet this Ji Wen had such precious treasure. It was said that this stone could increase a Nocru's power by leaps and bounds plus expand one's life. It being at this godforsaken backward continent must be because when the incident happened fifty years ago this stone was also pulled to this place.
It was for this stone that he was willing to betray Prince Rui and swap out the goods for someone with malicious intent. As to why Ji Wen would have his son enter that dark and sinister place he had no idea.
He was good with the plan at first but when he thought of all the riches he profited from this business he came up with a terrible idea. Possibly the worst idea he has ever come up with. He seriously overestimated his own abilities and decided to do the unthinkable.
Of course, he had heard rumours about Pirate King Ji's strength but he still chose to take him on believing that once he gets the necrolight he would pit Ji Wen against Prince Rui by informing the vile man that the king of the sea wanted to rob him of something. Having warned Prince Rui he would also get a reward. Great plan, right? What could possibly go wrong?
Well, he not only got beaten by the cub but also offended the lion. The only card he had left was the fact that Ji Wen still needed him to get into that heavily guarded Pavillion. If it wasn't for that he was certain he would have ceased to exist a long time ago.
"*Siss...," hissed Huang She as he crawled back up in pain.
Ji Wen crouched down before him and gripped his neck saying, "You better not screw me over again otherwise.... your ending won't be great." He forcibly pushed his head back causing the man to bang his head against the wall.
Huang She picked up his fallen hat and stood up with great difficulty. Ji Yao hadn't been paying attention to his father threatening Huang She. His attention had already been drawn to the cage made out of lotrian covered by a black cloth at the corner of the room.
He had heard about Prince Rui's disgusting deeds over the years but his father wasn't interested in dealing with royalty unless if they provoke him first.
Though Prince Rui was an outcasted royal member he was still protected and well-taken care of otherwise how would he have been able to manage his expensive lifestyle?
It was for this reason his father didn't intervene but faced with the reality of the situation Ji Yao couldn't handle it. He pulled the cloth and as it fell like fine silk his chest tightened faced by a pathetic skinny figure hiding at the corner of the cage.
She was like an angel fallen from heaven with her emerald curls and dazzling doe-eyes. Because she was frightened her Nocru form flashed for a split second before it abruptly disappeared. She had a glowing green gemstone on her forehead and a flower pattern flowing down her eyes like tears on her flawless skin.
His father was right, she was super pretty and the type Prince Rui would go after. Based on his observation Ji Yao could tell she was no older than twelve years old. His blood boiled in anger when he realised this. With his fists clenched he stormed over to Huang She who was struggling to get up and kicked him in the face leaving an obvious boot print.
Huang She's face hit the wall again due to the powerful kick as his purple blood splattered on the ground as a result of biting his cheek from the unexpected attack. Ji Yao wore a dark expression surrounded by a deadly aura like he planned on murdering someone.
This time he seemed to have lost himself because his clenched fists were surrounded by red seething electric sparks itching to attack someone. He brought down his fist on the unsuspecting Huang She ready to send him to his ancestors when Ji Wen held his arm preventing him from killing the man.
"Calm down..... Ah-Yao, calm the fuck down," he said as his son struggled to break free from his father's hold. Ji Wen had to force him to look at him by placing both his palms on either side of Ji Yao's face. "Don't you trust me?..... Huh? Go take a walk," he said pushing him out of the door.
Ji Yao complied but that didn't mean he couldn't throw a fit. A poor rotting tree that had been peed on by a dozen drunkards was put out of its misery by him. He initially wanted to do this job for his father but now he wanted to screw with Prince Rui for that little girl in there. If this is what it took to piss off that royal prick then he would do it.
Four hours later under the cover of night, Ji Yao was on a cart with thick bars preventing his escape. He was obediently sitting in the corner of the cage with a silky white veil draped over his face. His gaze landed on the sapphire tool his father gave to him. It had a golden handle like a dagger but the blade was an ombre sapphire colour with blunt ends.
Ji Wen said this was the only thing that could cut through latrion which meant he was supposed to use this to cut the bars of the cage at the opportune moment. When the carriage stopped he put the device away inside his fake cleavage.
The cloth covering the cage was opened a little and a brawny man of Nocru origin appeared in his view. He had purple scales on his face and arms with eyes as yellow as saffron. His armour made of martensitic reflected the moonlight as he reached out to pull the veil off Ji Yao's face.
A pair of phoenix eyes with white liner on the waterline and faint red powder from the eyelid fading away to the outer v caught his attention.. His gaze fell on the lace face veil showing a little of that high bridge nose and stunning silhouette of her pink lips.
