Chapter 133 - It Is The Season For Dog Food!!

With the centipede down Ji Yao hadn't yet cooled down. He was like a listless torpedo with no target in sight. If one asks him if he was okay he would say I am fine but in truth, everyone could tell he wasn't fine.

Like a good commanding officer, he took the lead tracking into the deep desert heading for the mountain ranges where he saw that man with a sinister smile. He kept going moving in large strides without being considerate for the rest of them.

Some like Zhang Li couldn't take the heat wanting to collapse right then and there but he dared not complain. That expression on Ji Yao's face was the same as Ji Wen's when he was angry and no one wanted to mess with the god of thunder when he is in that state.

Lady Ching Sei noticed his odd behaviour and said, "Can't take the heat... neither can you handle water. I wonder what you are really good at exactly?" as she passed by him.

The best thing Zhang Li could have done for himself was to shut it but bless his cursed mouth he had just had to open it. "How about you come to visit my ship later and I will show you what I am good at," he said with a smirk on his face which fell as quickly as it came. He wanted to burn his tongue for saying such stupid things.

It's a good thing he didn't have to do it himself because Lady Ching Sei generously offered to do it for him. Oh, bless her kind heart. The two people went at it like cats and dogs causing a scene. Actually no, it was more like a cat scratching its partner while the other just stood there and let her do as she pleased.

The scene was blinding to the eyes but there was nowhere to look without feeling awkward. Rui Fei was lagging behind while staring at Ji Yao's back the entire time. He was trying to figure out what was eating Ji Yao by retracing the man's footsteps.

The only thing he could think of was the Xiaoyu incident but his reasoning kicked in. How could Ji Yao be jealous? That face looked nothing like he was eating vinegar but someone who swallowed landmines and is ready to explode. Besides, there was nothing between him and Xiaoyu. I mean the girl was gorgeous but not as gorgeous as Ji Yao. She didn't make his heart flutter but Ji Yao made his heartbeat with rhythm like at a carnival in Rio De Janeiro that is before Covid of course.

While he was playing detective in his head someone nudged him. When he turned to face him it was his Uncle holding a waterskin. Rui Fei didn't take it looking at him with a strange expression. In the spirit of family and his love for his twin sister, Huishe Yue ignored that sceptical look on his face and took his hand placing the waterskin in his hand.

"Take it.... it's sweet berry frizz. Don't ask how I got it this nice and cool," he said feeling a little proud of himself. What he wasn't telling was that he found out Lan Wu was training his crystal manipulation which was at a beginner level. Sensing an opportunity he volunteered to help him train but in truth, he was used as a refrigerator the kind with an ice machine.

Huishe Yue was allergic to sugar so the drink was obviously not meant for him neither was it prepared for Rui Fei. It was prepared for him to woo someone. The women in their clan loved sweet things which meant they would be extremely sweet to their spouses later in the ahem... you get it, right?

The only issue was that his stubborn nephew couldn't appreciate his efforts. "You can't solve the problem with your eyes.... oh and um..... congratulations on not throwing a tantrum earlier on when Ji Yao activated his aether. It seems your full awakening brought about some self-restraint."

Only then did Rui Fei realise that point. He had been so focused on showing off his prowess in front of Ji Yao that he didn't notice that major event. It seemed Ji Yao hadn't noticed either so he decided to use this as an excuse to approach him.

Rui Fei slowly caught up and walked beside him for a while without saying anything but Ji Yao kept looking ahead like he didn't see him. Rui Fei had to initiate the conversation. He stretched out his hand to give him the waterskin.

Ji Yao finally paid attention to him. He stared blankly at the waterskin as though hesitant to say something.

He was restraining himself from saying those words but he felt like the lump on his throat grew the more he tried to hold back. Unable to bear it anymore he said, "Then give it to Xiaoyu," as he turned to look forward again, "she needs it more."

Rui Fei, "...."

For a moment he was dumbstruck watching Ji Yao walk ahead again. So it was about Xiaoyu but what did this mean? Was Ji Yao really jealous? Rui Fei caught up with him again and said smilingly, "This is for you. I want to give it to you."

Ji Yao eyed him in his peripheral view and saw that sweet smile that seemed genuine like he really came just to give him this. Thinking there was no harm in taking it he reached out his hand to grab it but Rui Fei took his hand back and said, "But there is a condition," with a deadpan expression.

Ji Yao wore a sullen expression not in the mood to joke around. He kept walking having drawn his hand back. Rui Fei walked beside him backwards as though he had eyes at the back of his head.

"You let me walk with you," said Rui Fei his expression a little serious but Ji Yao ignored him. Feeling a little cocky Rui Fei stopped walking and made a move as though heading somewhere.

Ji Yao didn't know what got into him at that moment as he simply grabbed Rui Fei's wrist and took that waterskin from him. "You said it's mine, right?" he asked with the two of them locking gazes for a while.

Maybe it was because Ji Yao assumed that Rui Fei was really going to give it away to Xiaoyu that he reached out that way. Rui Fei said it was his then it was his.

Sparks were flying at least for one of them as they gazed at each other. Rui Fei smiled as his ears suddenly turned red. He nodded his head and turned around to walk alongside Ji Yao leading the way.

The rest of the people behind were forced to eat dog food for no apparent reason. Everyone had already recognized this relationship after hearing Big Hei's confession of what he saw.
