Chapter 228: False Quest

Name:War Online Author:Snowstar
Somewhere in the middle of South Grennola ocean;

The skies are rumbling with thunder. A powerful storm has been summoned a giant beast that looks a bit similar to an eagle is flying towards somebody.

As it leads the storm to attack without any fear, the defender counterattacked.

"Leon, use Wing-blade"

The mighty lion of the Llyne kingdom stretched its wings and darted towards the beast.

Meanwhile, the master of the lion flapped his wings and shot an ice arrow towards the ocean, creating a 5000 sq.m icy island.

Following the order of its master, the winged lion attacked the beast head-on.

What would happen if a 3.18 Billion HP heroic+ grade beast face off against a 76 Billion HP Mythic- beast? The result is too obvious.

The moment both the attacks collide, along with the beast, the storm disappeared without a trace leaving behind the drops that rained down on the ocean.

*Ding! You killed the Thunderclap Beast. You received 35,840,000 EXP

*Ding! Seraph's bow has consumed 50% of the experience points (17,920,000)

*Ding! You leveled up.

*Ding! Seraph's bow leveled up.

*Level 223 (Need 31,555,100 more EXP to reach level 224)

Thankfully due to Wil's preparation, all the items dropped from this level-350 beast landed on the Ice.

As Wil threw everything in the inventory, he received a notification.

*Ding! You received thunderclap featherx1

*Ding! You completed the quest. Hand over the items to the Island Chief to receive the rewards.

Wil then opened the quest.

Quest Description: Kill Thunderclap birds and bring their feathers to complete the ritual.

Reward: 10 million EXP and a random reward.

He then clicked on the reject option.

*Ding! You will fail the quest upon rejecting. Proceed.

He clicked on Yes.

*Ding! You failed the quest, Offerings.

As soon as the quest is failed, he received another notification.

*Ding! Five Thunderclap feathers are detected in your inventory. Submit?

As Wil pressed on submit, the feathers disappeared from inventory.

Wil grinned, thinking of his ingenious false quest plan. A loophole that even Aria can't fix no matter how she tries. Wil felt like thanking Bran at that moment for creating such a thing.

A few hours ago;

Wil and Leon are flying towards their destination, the Null Island. Since Thunderclap beasts also roam above the South Grennola ocean more frequently, before going towards the null island, he wanted to search for an island with inhabitants around.

As a Mythic grade beast, it was susceptible to the aura of life. While it is harder of it to point a particular creature, it can at least distinguish a monster from a human being or a hybrid.

Wil trusted its senses and kept silent as it continues to fly.

Eventually, he saw the smoke generated from an island that's filled with a forest and a hill.

On the other end of the island, he saw houses built and there are boats nearby. It seems like a human settlement as he can see the fishermen are humans who are trying to catch the fish by throwing a net.

Leon landed on the island and they started walking.

Seeing the intruder, some of the natives immediately led their guard up and pointed their weapons.

"I'm not an enemy and I come in peace. Can I meet your chief?"

All he received is a cold shudder from those natives who didn't let their weapons down.

'Perhaps, they can't understand my language?' Wil realized they might not understand it since the setting was designed that way. He heard that some tribes living in islands like these only talk through sign language.

Since he doesn't know how to explain them in sign language, Wil explained in a more easy way.

He transformed to his original Neo-hybrid form at the moment and then, looked at his pet. "Leon, give a powerful roar."

*Roar* Following Wil's orders, it raised his head and roared.  It was a simple roar but it resounded all across their surroundings.

All the oceanic creatures became restless and started swimming away while the natives got scared.

Wil smiled as he mumbled, 'Fear works pretty much well to everyone even if you have language barriers.'

They kneeled at the moment, asking mercy for their lives in the form of their own language, which Wil didn't understand at the moment.

Ignoring them, as he walked, Wil saw there's an old man who was running towards them along with a dozen armed inhabitants.

Wil inspected him.

Aratus

Level: 200

HP: 65 million

Description: The chief of Vale Island.

As he reached both of them, he quickly kowtowed, "Oh! Great Lord, please show mercy on our people. I apologize if anyone offends you."

"You can speak Hiagina?" Wil was indeed surprised.

"Yes, Milord…" He didn't even dare to look into Wil's eyes as he replied. The village chief was still kowtowing on the ground and continued to reply. "I was originally from the Bredenton islands. Fifty years ago, during my travels, I survived the storm and somehow ended up here."

"Okay, you can get up. I need to talk to you."

Dispersing the natives around, the village chief took him to his home.

"Pardon me, Milord for such a poor hospitality."

Wil waved his hands, implying that it's alright as he takes a seat but then, remembering about his tail, he transformed into his Angel form and sat. Meanwhile, Leon waited outside as it can't enter such a small house with its large body.

Since he was going to leave in a few minutes, Wil also didn't bother to unsummon it.

The island chief was impressed by Wil's transformation. While the Neo-hybrid form was extremely scary, the Angel form was quite identical to human if one ignores the wings. Chief felt better and was able to look at Wil.

Wil then commenced his false quest plan. "I'm on a mission to help the poor people who are suffering because of the storms that are brought by the Thunderclap birds.

While I was passing nearby, I saw the traces of the devastation on your island too. Are your people affected by it?"

*Ding! Your favorability with Aratus increased by 30 points
