While Wil was taken aback by the sudden notification, the island chief once again fell onto his knees and kowtowed, "thank you Milord…"
At the moment, the island chief felt happy and thought his judgment was right about this powerful man, who wore an outfit that usually only the Royal families of his Xynnar continent wear.
In his youth, he gets to see a royal prince of his nation directly, albeit from far away. Wil wore the same type of clothing as that prince. So, he kept his manners not to anger him.
He then explained, "Your suspicion is correct, Milord. We are facing storm attacks from these beasts every six months. When the time comes, we often go and hide in the forest and after the storms passed, we will find the houses and everything disappears. So, we often have to rebuild the village over and over again."
"I heard that if you sacrifice five thunderclap feathers to the sea god, you will be protected."
A trace of hope appeared in the chief's eyes as soon as he heard Wil. But then, he remembered they aren't strong enough to acquire those.
"If you want, I can get them for you…" Wil then offers the help. "But, I can't help without knowing whether you want or not."
He continued to kowtow, "Thank you, Milord. Thank you… Please gather five feathers of Thunderclap birds… We'll try to repay with everything we got…"
*Ding! You receive a quest.
'Success.' Wil smiled as he heard a quest notification alert. He accepted the quest.
Back to the present;
Rejecting the island chief's quest that he created, as he submitted the quest items from one quest to another quest, Wil mumbled, "I think I have the skills of a scammer…"
The process of this false quest method is pretty much simple for Wil.
He first chose a place where the thunderclap beasts are roaming around. Since he knew their skills, he then looked for an island nearby. He then planted fear by revealing his strength and then, hope by offering a solution, which made the village chief issuing a quest.
"Okay, all that's left is to gather Shards of Sacred Ocean, Eye of Oculus, and Sunstones & Moonstones… hmm… if I want to obtain the shards using the same method, first, I need to know what beasts drop it. I have to meet Owler…"
Leon continued to fly, not caring about the darkness around. As for Wil, since he has night vision goggles, he was perfectly fine, although he was only able to see a Five-hundred-meter range around.
Since Wil wasn't in any hurry, he too didn't summon his Pegasus or rush his flying mount.
The darkness eventually disappeared as the sun rose. A few hours later, Wil finally saw a familiar-looking picture from the wiki of his past life.
It was a small island in the size of a one-tenths usual town. There wasn't any special hill or any forest. It was nothing really special. As expected, Wil didn't find the Time beast either. All he can see a simple large beach.
*Sigh* 'I knew this is going to be a wasted trip.' Wil felt depressed and cursed himself for trying to gamble once again. "Leon, let's get back to Athledon."
*Roar* Leon just sent a low roar in response.
Wil's eyes lit up, "Oculus is here?"
He asked it once again for confirmation.
Through their telepathic connection, it sent a reply that the island isn't empty. There's a beast present on this island but it wasn't active.
Upon listening to its response, Wil remembered another crucial piece of information regarding the time beast. "That's right. I almost forgot that Time beast loves to sleep in the soil and this is a beach. A perfect place to sleep.
I wonder why the beast didn't realize that I'm here? Does that mean that it can't see the future during its sleep, maybe?"
Getting the perfect moment, Wil ordered his pet, "Leon, use the King's roar."
*Roar*
Without wasting any time, Leon let out a powerful roar. Unlike the usual roar that was just displaying the might of a mythic grade, the King's roar was full of pride stemmed from being a guardian beast. It was as if indicating that others should kneel to its authority.
In the middle of the island, suddenly sand dispersed and a black-colored creature jumped out of the sand. It seemed frightened upon hearing the roar.
Since it was just a beach full of sand, the view is pretty much clear to both of them.
Wil can see the beast and the latter can see Wil and Leon.
Just like he has remembered, it was short and round in shape. It has swirl patterns on its body and only has one big eye.
It looked at the Lion with a frightened expression. As it tried to look into these two intruders' future, it failed. It tried again only to get failed.
Just like others, it feared the unknown. Oculus thought of fleeing from the spot with teleportation. As it tried, it didn't work either.
Meanwhile, Wil smiled, "what a lucky day…"
Oculus
Grade: Mythic
Level: 1
HP: 1
Description: Oculus is the time beast that can see the future. Former pet of the Time Master but now, a rogue beast that's just want to sleep peacefully.
"Too bad that it's a mythic grade." At first, Wil thought of capturing it as a pet with his legendary scroll that was dropped from the Squid. With a time beast as his pet, it was the same thing as being a Seer but now, he understood why its eye is necessary material. It's because one can't capture it if they want to.
Wil never heard a thing such as a mythic grade pet scroll. Even if there is, only by killing the whale can one acquire, which is impossible in the current situation.
He didn't waste time and spoke, "Activate, Gravity Suppression."
Oculus, which was already pretty much frightened because of the Lion, now felt a huge pressure from above, and quickly, it was forced to stuck to the sand and is even getting drowned further.
"Leon…"
Without Wil speaking further, Leon already understood the order and dashed towards the enemy.
*Ding! You killed the time beast. You receive 0 EXP.
*Ding! You obtained the Eye of Oculus. Please check your inventory
"So, it was automatically received by the one who killed it?" Wil checked the inventory and at one certain slot, there's an eye that seemed to be blinking.
He didn't get much time to inspect it as the system sent him another notification.
*Ding! Eye of Oculus detected. Submit?
He clicked on submitted and it disappeared from inventory.
Wil wondered whether the luck goddess is blessing him lately. When he thought how lucky he is getting, he can't help but become sad, remembering his dad. 'If only luck favored him during the operation…'
*Slap* He slapped himself on both cheeks, "Wil, now isn't the time to have depressed thoughts. There's a world waiting for me to take over."
Wil and Leon once again started to fly, this time to the north towards their next destination, Athledon kingdom.
