12 The Rains

Name:Welcome to Arcana Author:WhosDatDude
He had food. He had water. Damn, he should have asked the man how far he was from Argoon, but now he was tired. He needed some serious proper rest, but the wild is restless, which meant he needed to find a small floater or a small cave and try to get enough rest, "Diff, can you set a location for a safe zone to rest up."

"Affirmative."

"Wait, what seriously?! Now, you work!?"

"This system's name is Diff. It an acronym stands for death is for fools Trying to secure a safe haven for the user is a priority."

"Right, of course." He shook his head. A new popup arrow showed him to a new direction.

He followed it to a small cave. He looked around to find something he could lay his head-on. He collected a bunch of leaves placed over moss to make a basic bed. He had some of the smoked meat and a sip of water before trying to sleep. During his sleep, a storm started to brew.

Some water made its way inside the cave. It started to pile up making it hard for Radley to get any sleep.

Now he had to deal with rain. A low growl could be heard close by. Radley tried peering through the mist to see if he could locate anything. Some of the undergrowth parted away but Radley still couldn't make out what it was due to the heavy downpour.

He tried using Diff but all it said was he needed to upgrade to scan in low visibility. He relaxed against the cave wall. He was starting to get cold. The clothes he had could only do so much to protect against the extremities. Radley didn't want to move out due to the ominous growl he heard. He pressed his legs up against his body to conserve energy. He was so tired. His mind started to drift to a better time. He remembered his mother and sister. It might have been rough but he enjoyed life. Tears slowly trickled down his face thinking about the good times. He also missed his best friend but on the other hand, he also hated him for causing his own death.

It seemed the rain wasn't going to stop anytime soon, so he tried his luck and carefully made his way out, keeping low and out of sight. he crawled out of a bush and came face to face with a massive beast of burden. His heart dropped like a stone in water.

Two great big brown eyes stared him right in the face, but on closer inspection it looked like the creature was a herbivore, looking similar to the triceratops but with no horns and a wide boney structure on its nose. Radley checked its stats. Lv 12 Osdirrotops Calm nature. Radley slowly backed away for fear of provoking the beast.

He got back on the path and used some large leave to act as an umbrella. He had no choice now. He needed to move on. He needed civilization. This was getting too much for him. He wasn't cut out to be this survivalist. What was worse was the water level was starting to rise all over the valley floor. He looked up into the sky as the water fell down on his face. The rain was going to become a problem. He needed one of the floaters.

"Diff show me the direction to the closest floater."

"Negative can only use the ability to find a safe location once a day."

"Are you fucking KIDDING ME!?"

He sighed and climbed up a tree to see if he couldn't spot a floater, but the heavy cloud cover blocked them.

He pushed on as the water level started to rise. He grabbed his axe and started to chop a piece of wood large enough for him to sit on. He gathered three more pieces as the water was already knee-high. He tied them all together using vines. He took a long rather thick branch and used it to push himself through the water.

As he pushed himself through the water something jumped out of the water trying to take a bite out of Radley. Instincts took over and rapidly used his knife to slash the lv 1 Piranha looking bastard though it did have a long tail, and it was massive for a piranha. Popup appeared. 5 invo points. ) Diff points obtained. Radley continued, but the further he went the more little bastards started to show up. Thanks to his instant reaction ability he was able to take out quite a few of them. In the end, he accumulated about 255 invo points, but he ran into a snag. A dead-end. Massive tree roots were blocking his way. The odd thing was the arrow kept pointing that way. Suddenly the roots exploded as a massive version of the Piranha fish called the Piscium Dente appeared. This one was called the Piscium Dente Maximus lv 9 and had an aggressive nature.

He knew he wouldn't be able to hurt the bastard, but in his case, he was up the creek without a paddle. When the roots gave way the arrow also changed trajectory, pointing upwards, but all he could see was clouds. The fish rammed him through his logs ship and sent him flying into the air. Luckily he suffered no damage. He falls into the water. The water was pretty damn deep, going just above his head. This was dangerous territory for any person. He went underwater and hope the Diff would see the incoming creature in time allowing him to react accordingly. His theory prevailed as right in the last second he dodged the massive fish and grabbed it bu the fin. The creature disliked this and jumped high into the air. He used this opportunity to grab onto a vine.

He climbed into up the vine which seemed to go into the clouds. He used the same technique as last time. Jam the axe hilt in between the braided vines. He continued until his head was above the clouds. He turned to look around and say a sight that took his breath away
