He had really fallen for Li Ling and if you asked him the reason for it, you'll be able to get a confusing answer. Even Zhihao didn't know why he had fallen for this man so how could he tell someone else?
At first, he could make up excuses and say that he was probably mistaking the feeling of friendship for love, but friends don't kiss so how could he continue using that excuse?
It was as clear as day for him.
The black-masked man was right in some ways. He had to give it a try, but by kissing Li Ling, he wasn't able to do anything, and instead, he was now in turmoil. He could no longer deny his feelings for Li Ling and he was sure that he won't be able to go back to how they were.
Maybe it was a bad idea for them to get to know each other.
Actually, even before this kiss, Zhihao had figured it out. Way before Li Ling convinced him that he liked the Gamemaster or way before they kissed in the game. Zhihao had fallen in love with this man way before any of that happened. He had started liking Li Ling since day one. Ever since he met him, he had a crush on him that he was unwilling to admit.
He had only now realized that he was helplessly in love with this man. He had fallen for him too hard and there was no way he'll ever be able to climb out from this hole called feelings.
Zhihao felt Li Ling's hand caress his neck and at the same time, Li Ling pulled away, his eyes still glued onto Zhihao's lips. He was gasping for air and so was Zhihao who suddenly felt like he was breathing in fire. The temperature was too hot.
"D-Did they forget to turn on the air conditioner?" Zhihao muttered.
He heard Li Ling chuckle as the man moved closer once again as if he hadn't had enough, but right at this moment, both of them were interrupted by the screaming of the Dino who was trying to save his friend from falling off of a cliff.
"Nooooo!"
Zhihao glared at the screen and Li Ling chuckled as he moved away and sat back down on his chair that he didn't even remember standing up from.
Zhihao would be lying if he said he wasn't disappointed and it was all due to this stupid Dino!
He was still unsatisfied! This Dino is not a great warrior at all! He's a little annoying party-pooper!
Zhihao heard Li Ling chuckle, but when he looked over, he found that the man was staring at the screen with undivided attention.
In reality, Li Ling was wondering how he should sue the movie makers. This Dino had to go.
"Hmm... It wasn't that different," Li Ling decided to speak up, "I thought it would be a bit different, but it was just like kissing a girl."
Zhihao didn't know why, but when he heard this, he was annoyed and angry as he immediately asked, "Have you kissed a girl before this?"
Li Ling looked over at Zhihao with an expression that Zhihao could not read as he responded, "What do you think?"
Zhihao was a self-proclaimed good guesser so when he heard this, he shook his head as he answered, "You've probably kissed plenty."
Li Ling laughed as he heard this, "You're so amazing, A-Zhi, but I'm sorry to disappoint you. I haven't kissed a girl before this."
Zhihao was surprised to hear this. With a face like that, Zhihao was sure that Li Ling would never have a shortage of girls to choose from. If he wanted, he could create his own harem and kiss any girl he liked. Unlike Zhihao, he didn't seem like a gaming-addict, so Zhihao really could not understand how the man hadn't kissed anyone yet.
The shocking thing was probably not the fact that the man had never kissed someone before this, the most shocking thing was Zhihao's own feelings. He felt oddly happy to hear that Li Ling had never experienced such a feeling. This meant that Zhihao wasn't alone.
They were both each other's first kiss. Didn't that mean something?
"You are my first kiss but..." Li Ling was going to tell him that he was indeed his first kiss but this wasn't their first kiss. It was their second. He sighed as he decided not to say anything about it, "How does it feel?"
Zhihao was suddenly thankful for the fact that the theater was dark. If it wasn't, he was sure that Li Ling would have easily been able to see his facial expressions. He was sure that his cheeks were as red as the chair he was sitting on. He wondered if he could simply camouflage with the chair if his skin was planning on turning this red.
"You should give me some feedback."
"Feedback?"
Li Ling nodded, "You wanted to know how it felt. Were you able to find the answer?"
Zhihao never knew that he could feel the heat rise at such a speed like this. He already felt like he was on fire so when he heard Li Ling asking this question, he felt like he had been put in front of naked flames and was being burnt alive.
"It was... Great," Zhihao spoke as he looked away. He was too embarrassed to face Li Ling cause he was afraid that if he looked at Li Ling's face, he won't be able to hide his own feelings. Li Ling was always able to read him so if he saw Zhihao's face right now, there was no doubt that he would be able to guess what was going on inside Zhihao's mind.
"Did you feel any different?" Li Ling asked in between his chuckles.
Zhihao nodded as he spoke, "It was exactly as I imagined."
"Huh?"
"..." That was absolutely not what Zhihao had wanted to say. He was simply thinking that. Instead of voicing out what he really wanted to say, he let his thoughts be leaked due to his loose mouth and his incapable brain that didn't know how to work properly.
Li Ling suddenly seemed eager as he asked, "A-Zhi imagined this?"
Zhihao immediately shook his head as he denied, "No way! You heard wrong!"
"Then what did you say?"
"I said it didn't feel any different."
"You're lying." Li Ling lightly scolded, "Now tell me the truth."
Zhihao shook his head and looked at him innocently as he defended himself, "I'm telling you the truth. That was what I said. Maybe you couldn't hear me over the movie?"
Li Ling pursed his lips as he glanced at the screen in front and then back at Zhihao's face, "The movie is over. It ended a while ago."
Zhihao looked ahead at the white screen and saw the credits rolling.
"When the hell did this end?" Zhihao had once again spoken up before he could think.
Li Ling couldn't help but laugh as he saw this, "A-Zhi is so cute."
"D-Don't tease me!" Zhihao stood up and walked away as the lights turned on. It seemed that the lights also had the perfect timing. Thankfully Zhihao had his back turned to Li Ling so the man couldn't see Zhihao's expressions that were clearly visible under the bright light.
"A-Zhi, wait for me! Why are you running away?" He heard Li Ling calling out to him in between his laughter.
Li Ling was definitely teasing Zhihao and Zhihao couldn't possibly feel more embarrassed as he ran away from the man to save himself some face.
There was a washroom beside the exit of the theater so when he saw the sign, he felt like it was just the thing he needed.
He washed his face and looked at himself in the mirror. He thought he would be able to see his own reflection, but the image on the mirror seemed to reflect a very fresh memory. It was the scene of Li Ling kissing him and it made him blink twice. He wiped the mirror only to find that the image had faded away and he was able to see his own reflection again. He sighed as he thought to himself, "I'm going crazy."
If he was having hallucinations like this, he certainly was going a bit crazy.
He once again turned the tap on and splashed the water on his face as he looked back at the mirror. He looked like a perfect human tomato.
This was what Li Ling was seeing? A red as tomato Zhihao? It would've been more shocking if Li Ling hadn't found out that Zhihao liked him.
Zhihao hadn't thought about anything. He never calculated the aftereffects of the kiss or discussed what they were going to do next so he looked at himself in the mirror and asked, "What are you gonna do now, idiot?"
When he got out of the washroom, he found Li Ling waiting for him outside.
"Shall we go now?" Li Ling beamed.
"Go where?"
"You said you'll go wherever I want to take you, didn't you?"
Zhihao suddenly regretted the moment he had said such a thing to the man.
The most troubling thing that bothered him was the fact that Li Ling was acting as if nothing had happened.
He couldn't understand what this man was thinking.
Li Ling was able to read him like a book while Zhihao couldn't even read Li Ling, as if he were computer codes that Zhihao had never learned.
