Chapter 186 - Li Ling Is Not Gonna Fight Anymore

"Maybe she ditched us?" Wang GuiYing asked, half-jokingly and the other half, serious.

"That sounds more plausible," Zhihao nodded his head as he agreed. 

Li Ling who heard this frowned as he shook his head lightly, "She won't do that." 

Everyone immediately turned to look at Li Ling as they waited for the man to explain himself. 

"What do you mean?" It was Zhihao who questioned out first. 

Li Ling turned to look at him as he responded, "She might be annoying, but if she agrees to do something, she would never go back on her word no matter what. Even if she is half dead, she would still come." 

Zhihao was silent for a few minutes as he looked at Li Ling with an expression that couldn't be deciphered. 

After much deliberation, he managed to ask the question, "You trust her?"

Li Ling gulped as he nodded his head, "I trust her." 

It was probably the first time Li Ling had ever said something like this out loud. 

If the situation had been different, maybe Li Ling would have also answered differently. Even though he had created the bot based on his sister, he was still reluctant to trust his own creation. 

Well, it wasn't like he trusted his sister either. Most of the time, under normal circumstances, he would never trust his sister who loved to pull pranks on him, however, if the situation turned serious, he would blindly trust his sister because he knew that his sister would never let him down. 

The trust he had for Alvi could also be considered to be somewhat the same. 

In dire situations, he would always trust the bot because he believed that he should have faith in what he created. If he himself doesn't have any faith in her, how can he expect others to have faith in her? 

Zhihao sighed as he heard this answer and with a small nod, he spoke up, "Since you trust her so much, I'll also trust her. She definitely didn't ditch us. Does that bring us back to the theory of her getting kidnapped?" 

Li Ling couldn't help but chuckle as he heard this, "You can rest assured that she isn't weak enough for people to bully her." 

"Are you sure about that?" Wang GuiYing questioned out with a mocking smile, "She looked pretty weak." 

Li Ling squinted at the man as he asked, "Why don't you try saying that to her face?" 

Wang GuiYing's eyes widened slightly in panic as he heard this question, "I would rather not take any chances." 

Li Ling smiled in satisfaction, "Let's just wait around for her. Who knows? Maybe she would suddenly appear at a critical scene like a hero and save us all." 

Zhihao couldn't help but imagine such a scene. 

Alvi would suddenly fall from the sky and land on the ground, leaving a dent on the floor due to her fist that stopped her momentum... 

The more he imagined it, the more ridiculous the scene looked in his mind. 

Yeah... There was no way such a thing would ever happen. 

"Hey, Captain!" Laura muttered out, her eyes focused on something else entirely, "I think the third wave you were waiting for is here." 

Li Ling and Zhihao immediately snapped their heads to look back at the scene that had taken Laura's attention. 

"Hmm... Well... I told you she won't ditch us, didn't I?" Li Ling spoke up as he looked at the third wave of ribix army that was approaching them. 

With just a single look, they were sure that this army was much different than the other two and the reason was because the army wasn't completely made up of ribix. 

The newly created ribix that walked along with all the ribix were hard not to notice. They were like a sore thumb sticking out. 

Zhihao's mouth opened slightly in shock as he looked at the scene, "Captain Liv, you were certainly not wrong... But I think you should reconsider trusting such a bot." 

"What are you guys muttering about?" Zather who had been silent till now spoke up as he listened to Li Ling and Zhihao's comment, "Do you know something we don't?"

"Hmm... How to say this?" Zhihao mumbled absent-mindedly as he pondered over the answer. 

"Hey, weird man!" Wang GuiYing who had no idea what this man was even called spoke up as he pointed towards something, "You see that small girl leading the group?" 

Zather squinted as he looked carefully in search of the girl who was at the front of the approaching army but due to her small height and thinness, she was still pretty hard to notice. 

"We know her," Wang GuiYing added with a delighted tone as if he were trying to assure the man that since he was close with that girl, the army wouldn't attack them. 

Zhihao suddenly grabbed his head that had started to thoroughly trouble him and when Li Ling looked at him, his worries about the approaching army disappeared as he grabbed onto Zhihao and asked, "Are you okay?"

Zhihao gulped and didn't say anything for a minute. Only after a few minutes did he lift his head to give a small nod, "I'm okay." 

"No, you're not" Li Ling scolded him, "Does your head ache?" 

Zhihao gulped as he looked at the man and asked, "If it does, would you kiss it and make it better?" 

Li Ling pursed his lips as he scolded out, "Not the time, goddamn it!" 

Zhihao chuckled as he replied, "It's always the time." 

Wang GuiYing, who looked over at the two, furrowed his eyebrows as he asked, "Captain Burn, did you burn out or something?" 

Zhihao chuckled softly as he heard this. 

"Oh God! He laughed at one of my jokes! He's definitely not okay!" Wang GuiYing immediately cried out in worry. 

Li Ling looked at the man and nodded, "He's burning out. I think his oxygen level is decreasing." 

"But how can that be?" Wang GuiYing questioned as his eyes frantically switched in between looking at the approaching army and Zhihao who was in a state where his face had lost all color. 

Li Ling's hands were clearly shaking and he looked to be panicking as he answered, "Some people..." His voice came to a stop as his mind went blank for a second. He tightened his grip around Zhihao before taking a deep breath in, "I'll tell you later." 

Wang GuiYing pursed his lips before nodding, "You better give me a clear explanation." 

Li Ling also nodded his head as he heard this. 

"Captain Liv, I can look after him if you want me to," Zather suggested. 

"No," Li Ling denied his help without even thinking about it twice, "He's with me. I'll be here for him. You go and fight." 

Zather's expressions got complicated as he looked back at Li Ling, "Captain, we need you to fight." 

"And he needs me too!" Li Ling sounded angry and frustrated as he shouted. 

Zather was about to say something more but before his tongue could form the words, Wang GuiYing smacked his shoulder lightly as he spoke up, "Don't try. He's not coming anymore." 

Laura clicked her tongue in annoyance, "Is this all? I thought the Legendary captains would be more competent." 

"Shut up!" Li Ling immediately snapped and it managed to intimidate her. 

Laura huffed and puffed but at the end that was all she could do. 

Wang GuiYing looked at Zhihao as he suggested, "You can rest for now, Mastermo. Let us handle this." 

Zhihao chuckled but even his chuckle was inaudible as his legs gave up on him and he fell down with Li Ling clutching tightly onto him. 

Li Ling rested Zhihao's head on his shoulder before looking at Alvi who was coming with the third wave of Ribix army, "Alvi, code 1016" 

Suddenly, all the players heard the cheerful voice of the bot in their earpiece. 

[Welcome back, Master! How can I assist you?]

Wang GuiYing who was able to hear this suddenly frowned as he looked over at Li Ling with confusion and suspicion. 

Zhihao's head was constantly ringing and he felt extremely sleepy due to which he wasn't able to hear what Li Ling had said nor was he able to concentrate enough to know that Li Ling was directly commanding Alvi. 

"Why did you bring them with you?" 

[It was an order, Master.] 

[You told me to bring back all the newly created ribix.] 

Li Ling took a sharp breath in as he questioned again, "So what? You were supposed to bring them over so that they could assist us not fight against us." 

[You never specified that.] 

Alvi's tone of speech was consistently cheerful as if she was just like any other bot and no longer had the speech modulations she had when she would normally interact with them. 

[You told me to collect them all and bring them over but you never said if they needed to be affected by the ribix virus or not.] 

Li Ling was about to say something to that but he suddenly heard Laura scoff. 

"Who knew something you do can come back to bite you in the ass like this?"
