He looked forward to it.
The vague plan the girl had in her mind turned out to really be something unpredictable.
Her plan was pretty simple and it was also the most reckless thing one could think of doing.
This girl... She certainly had no value for her own life.
"There is a treasure in Utopia," Laura suddenly spoke up, "A treasure I thought I had hidden well but it seems that there was nothing I could really hide from her."
Li Ling snapped his head at the girl but said nothing as he heard this.
"She's an idiot," Laura shook her head and on her face, one could sense so many conflicting emotions.
She looked happy and a bit sad at the same time. She looked proud and dissatisfied as if she had never wanted Leyah to use this method.
Wang GuiYing had a complicated expression on his face as he questioned, "What treasure are you talking about?"
Laura sighed as she heard this question, "A treasure that could save our world or destroy it completely."
Leyah who was still fighting in front of them suddenly swallowed something and soon enough, her body started changing.
Her leg healed up at a speed visible to the eye and her skin slowly started turning silver. Her speed increased and so did her strength.
With just a kick or a punch, she was able to throw the newly created ribots off of their feet.
"What the hell is happening?!" Wang GuiYing cried out in confusion.
"Just keep watching," Laura informed without giving him a detailed answer.
Everyone kept their eyes on Leyah who seemed to slowly be turning into a Ribot. Her body which was previously thin started transforming into a bulky metallic creature and the whole transformation took nothing more than a few minutes.
Once she had completely transformed, it was hard to even tell whether this was the same girl as before or not. There was nothing on her body that looked even close to what her original body looked like.
She had changed into a completely different thing.
Laura suddenly kneeled down and kowtowed, "Hail the Ribot God."
"Ribot God?" Wang GuiYing frowned as he repeated.
Laura said nothing as she continued to keep her head down low, touching the ground.
Wang GuiYing almost wanted to kick her and ask her what she meant but before he could lift his feet, Zather who stood beside her also kneeled down to the ground and kowtowed.
"Why the hell...?!" Wang GuiYing muttered as this further confused him.
Li Ling shook his head as he glanced at Wang GuiYing and then back at Leyah, "Don't worry about it. For them... She's a God right now."
Wang GuiYing furrowed his eyebrows as he heard this.
"The Ribot God," Li Ling added with a small smile hanging on his lips, "A God meant to be sacrificed."
"You're right," Laura spoke up without even bothering to lift her head up, "The Ribot God meant to be sacrificed for the protection of this world and its people. A God that can save us all or... Destroy us all."
Li Ling chuckled dryly as he heard this, "You better pray that she doesn't become the latter."
All the white-suited soldiers who were still alive and all of Laura's soldiers immediately kneeled down and kowtowed as they heard this.
"All Hail the Ribot God!" No one knew who had shouted this but since one had dared, the others would surely follow.
"All Hail the Ribot God!!" one by one, more people joined in and shouted in unison.
Their voices loud enough for Leyah to hear them, but if she could hear them or not was a question that could not be answered, after all, 'Leyah' wasn't there anymore. It was the Ribot God who stood in front of them. The God Leyah had sacrificed her life to bring back.
The moment she had swallowed that treasure, her death had become inevitable.
"To the sky above and the ground below!" Laura suddenly cried out, using all her might to continue, "We bow our heads to the sacrifice of our savior! All Hail the Ribot God!"
There was suddenly a staff that appeared in Leyah's hand and because of Laura shouting, Li Ling wasn't able to see where the staff had come from.
The staff was covered in soft warm yellow light and as soon as it touched anything, whatever it had touched would immediately turn to nothing more than ashes that blew with the wind.
When Wang GuiYing saw this magical staff, he couldn't help but feel as if his jaw was about to hit the floor because of how surprised and awed he was.
"That's..." He muttered but couldn't complete the sentence.
"The staff of the Ribot God," Laura spoke up.
Li Ling sighed, "It can turn anything to ash and dust. No matter if it is a ribix, a ribot, a human, or earth itself. As long as the wielder wants to turn it into ash, nothing can remain safe."
"Wha~" Wang GuiYing was speechless but he still opened his mouth to exclaim in awe.
"The ultimate weapon that can win this war," Li Ling added, his eyes attentively squinting at the staff being wielded by Leyah.
"Are we... Winning?" Wang GuiYing questioned.
Li Ling nodded as he answered, "We are. As long as she manages to control the Ribot God and his staff, we'll win."
"And if she doesn't?"
Li Ling shook his head and instead of answering, he asked another question, "What do you think happens if she loses control?"
"We all die, won't we?" Wang GuiYing muttered.
Li Ling chuckled softly as he nodded his head and confirmed that his guess was right.
If Leyah loses control over the thing she summoned, this whole world would immediately burn into ashes and nobody would be able to do anything about it.
Wang GuiYing sighed as he looked up at Leyah, "No worries. I trust her."
"Huh?"
"I said, I trust her. She would not lose control easily," Wang GuiYing repeated himself confidently, "She refused to back down even with a broken leg. I'm sure she can manage this."
"Me too..." It was Zather who muttered and joined Wang GuiYing, "I didn't consider her as my leader because she was weak. My leader is a strong woman who can fight against all odds. She would certainly not lose control that easily."
Laura suddenly scoffed as she heard this, "Well, I still hate her, but... I trust the Ribot God."
Li Ling smiled as he heard this, "Ya know, I think you're a tsundere."
"What the heck is that?" Laura snapped but Li Ling only chuckled in response.
It was better not to tell her what it means.
With the amazing staff in hand, it would have been more shocking if Leyah didn't win the fight.
All the ribix and newly created Ribots turned into ashes and dust that blew away with the wind. It was a sight that was stunning and beautiful, but at the same time, it looked ruthless and cruel.
To die that easily... It was truly a bit sad.
Nobody dared say a word as they watched the war that could not even be called a war at this point. It looked more like a one-sided extermination.
Within a few minutes, most of the ribix army had already disappeared from sight, floating in the wind as ashes that rose up and disappeared completely.
Alvi who was simply standing by the side and watching this, chuckled as she straightened her back and walked towards Li Ling.
Li Ling glared at her but it didn't stop her from smiling at him.
Within the next few minutes, Li Ling noticed something else and it worried him a bit.
Most of the army had been killed off, however, Leyah also didn't look to be in a good condition.
Her metallic skin seemed to be rusting off and turning into ashes that could hardly be noticed.
"It's killing her," Alvi commented when she got close enough to Li Ling and the others.
Li Ling gulped as he heard this. He had also guessed the same.
"How long does she have?" Li Ling questioned.
Alvi shrugged her shoulders as she heard this question, "Depends. At most, five minutes."
Laura and Zather stood up from the ground along with their soldiers and everyone lifted their right hand up to their left chest.
When Li Ling saw them, he frowned, "What are you doing?"
"Saying our last goodbyes," Laura answered, her voice containing some kind of grief within it.
Zather, "You've been a good Captain, Leyah. You sacrificed yourself to save us all. You shall be remembered in history as the savior of our planet. In History, your name shall be engraved and in the hearts of the survivors, you will forever stay alive."
Laura, "I truly hate you. You were meant to do this since the beginning, however, I would have never expected you to choose this path yourself. As much as I hate to admit it, I still have to say that you're quite brave. You were always braver than I ever was."
"Captain, to fight in battle for you was my greatest honor."
Li Ling couldn't help but chuckle as he raised his hand and held it over his left chest, "Leyah, you can rest assured that Captain Liv and Captain Burn probably forgave you a long time ago."
