Chapter 74 - Eager?

Jade was beyond shocked when she realized it was no other than Jake Beau who was sitted there, and he was flashing her a smile.

Why was he here?

Jade quickly recomposed herself and bowed slightly to him before returning her gaze to the iron lady staring at her.

"I believe you've met CEO Beau. He's here to visit the company which he just signed it and he has asked for you to give him a tour. I hope I can entrust with this task?" Mrs Tracy said staring intently at Jade.

"M..me??" Jade asked in shock. What was happening? Why did he ask for her?

"Yes. I believe you can do that right?" Mrs Tracy asked with a straight face.

Jade looked as if she was pondering about it. It wasn't that she couldn't do it, but she just doubted this man reason for being here.

How can she forget how this man had manipulated her into agreeing to teach him for the next six months.

"Yes I can" Jade said firmly. All she had to do was keep her guard up against this man.

Jake's lips twitched slightly when Jade agreed.

He sprang up to his feet and buttoned up his suit. He looked towards the woman seated in front of his, stretched out his hand for a hand shake, "I look forward to a good collaboration between our companies" He said with a smile which Mrs Tracy responded to with a smile of her own as she shook his hand.

"Me too. Thanks for collaborating with us"

"Thank that young lady over there. She did her best to convince me till I was completely sold out"

Mrs Tracy glanced at Jade who was surprised by Jake's words. Mrs Tracy's lips curved upward into a smile. It seems Jade was truly an asset.

"I'll take a look around then" He said turning to Jade who looked like she had a thousand thoughts going through her mind.

"Miss Peterson, shall we?" Jade looked up at him and responded with a single nod.

Jake walked ahead and Jade followed behind.

"Miss Jade, return to my office when you're done" Mrs Tracy informed her.

"Yes ma" Jade replied before leaving the office.

Jade followed Jake as they walked into the office. She had the urge to ask him why he was here so early in the morning.

It wouldn't be about their deal would it? They had agreed on weekends, so why was he here? No! She decided not to ask and do just as she have been told. If he wanted to take a look around then she had no problem being his tour guide as far as he tries not to annoy her.

"Sir where would you like to see first?" Jade asked halting Jake on his steps.

Jake turned and look at her quietly.

"Your phone" Jake replied surprising Jade. Jade gaped as she stared at him dumbfoundedly. She didn't understand what he meant by phone? Was that suppose to be a reply to her question?

Jake lips twitched as he saw that dazed look on her face.

"I want your number miss Jade" He said as he took a step closer to her making Jade take a step back. She jolted back to reality as quickly looked around the hallway to see if there was anyone around.

Alot has been happening on this hallway lately.

"Wh..hy do you want my number?" Jade asked.

"To call all ambulance" Jade's eyes widened more at his reply, while Jake chuckled.

"To call you silly. How can we communicate by weekend?" He asked tilting his head towards her.

Oh! That was true. There was no way for them to communicate come weekend. So was this why he had come here?

"So that's your reason for being here?" Jade asked just to be sure.

"No" Jake replied. Jade's brow shot up. If that wasn't his only reason then what else.

"I also wanted to take a look..." He paused as his eyes gazed at her intently for some seconds, "around" but what he really wanted to say was "you". He knew such words would only scare her.

Sincerely he also didn't know why he was here. He had had a hard time getting her out of his mind as her scents kept lingering in his brain. When he had sat close to her yesterday, her scent had some how registered itself to its brain.

Thoughts about having her teach him to play a game kept boggling his mind.

This girl keeps bugging his mind, unsettling things inside of him like a stone thrown inside a still lake causing tripples.

Jade sighed as she stretched out her palm to him, "give me your phone"

Jake looked at her open palm, before bringing out his phone and placing it in her hand.

Jade quickly keyed her number and passed it back to him.

Jake looked at her number before dialing it. He looked at her like he was expecting her to pick his call.

"Where's your phone?" He asked raising a brow at her.

"On my desk" Jade replied.

"Okay" He said putting his phone back in his pocket.

"So I'll be seeing this weekend right?"

"Are you that eager to see me again?" Jake asked with a wicked smirk on his face. Jade eyes blinked involuntarily, she opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. Jake chuckled when he saw her looking like she had committed a murder.

"Yes I'll see you next week"

Jade rolled her eyes imwardly at him. Now she was certain she would have a hard a time dealing with this man.

"Now that you have the number, where would you like to see?" Jade asked again.

"My car"

"Your car?"

"Yes miss Peterson, I think I have seen enough for the day" Jade looked at him in disbelief. When did he see anything?

"But we haven't.."

"I know you'd love to show me around, but I have a meeting to attend. Why don't you save your energy for Saturday"

Jade was utterly speechless. She'd 'love' to show him around? She doesn't even want to be within a 100 mile radius close to this guy, and the heaven could bear her witness to that. So what was he saying?

"See you around miss Jade" Jake said with a boyish smile before turning around to leave.

Jade watched his retreating figure and she cussed herself in a her heart for making such a big mistake that brought this guy into her life.

What kind of punishment was this?
