"That's enough" Jade scolded Amy as she snatched the glass from Amy's hand when she approached the table. Poor girl was drowning herself with alcohol.
Amy tried reaching for the glass but Jade stretched her hand out of Amy's reach. She picked up the bootle that was almost empty and looked at the alcoholic content of the wine. She heaved a sign of relief when she saw that it was merely 5% alcoholic. From the amount Amy had taken, she knew that was enough to make her tipsy. Amy was a light drinker after all.
"Jade give me that. You came late you know" Amy said sluggishly. Jade ignored her, gave her good look before pulling the seat close to Amy and sat right next to her.
Jade looked intently at Amy's face and she could see all the pain and hurt in Amy's eyes which she was trying so hard to hide. Jade signed as she wrapped her hands around Amy.
She didn't need a soothsayer to tell her why Amy had called her over and why she was looking so broken.
Jade rubbed her hand on Amy's back as she hugged her.
"I'm not going to cry" Amy said with a small voice.
"I know" Jade replied.
"I mean it, I'm not going to cry"
"I know you won't. I just want to hug you" Jade replied again.
"Then hug me tightly" Amy said as she hugged Jade back. They hugged each other quietly for a long time.
"Do you want me to cuss him? I assure you i can do that" Jade said softly still hugging Amy. That was what Amy had asked her to do when she broke up with her ex. They had spent hours cussing Amy's ex with all their might, and funny enough that had livened up Amy's mood.
"No let's not do that" Amy shook her head as she broke the hug. She couldn't do that. It wasn't Blake's fault that he didn't like her the way she liked him. That was life.
"I have a better idea" Amy said with a mischievious smile. Jade narrowed her eyes suspiciously when she noticed that smile on Amy's face. Whatever she had in mind definitely wouldn't be good.
"What is that?" Jade asked. She knew Amy was heartbroken and knowing the kind of person Amy was, she wouldn't show it. She'll do crazy things just to keep whatever she was feeling to herself.
"You can't reject me too okay" The word 'reject' brought a bitter smile to her face.
"Let's hear it" Jade said wearily.
"Let's go to the club" Amy said smiling at Jade making her eyes widen in surprise.
"Club?" Jade was shocked.
"Yes, you can't turn me down, you know that." Amy said with a serious face.
"But if you want to forget about... What I'm trying to say is that the club is not a good idea. Let's go to the karaoke instead. Remember you said music is therapeutic right?" Jade reasoned.
"But...I want more booze Jade. Indulge me just for today. I really need it" Amy said softly. Jade stared at her, her mind was beginning to waver. Amy always does crazy things like this. What to do?
"But I'm not properly dressed for that. I could only wear this when you called" Jade said looking at the blue faded jean and big tee she had on. Amy looked at Jade from head to toe and smiled. "That won't be a problem" She said as she pulled Jade by her hand and led her out of the restaurant. They hurried to the car and as soon as they got in Amy turned on the ignition.
"Amy I don't think is safe for you to drive. Let's take a cab" Jade said. Amy had consumed a reasonable amount of alcohol.
"Belive me I can pilot a plane right now. It's safe, I'll get us there in one piece" Amy declared as she strapped in her seat belt and Jade did same. Her life was now in Amy's hands.
"So where exactly are we going?" Jade asked.
"I got an invite for the opening a rich heir's club tonight. That means there will be free drinks and chops. How about we go there huh? Nothing tastes better than free food and drinks" Amy said with a cheeky smile.
Jade paid attention to Amy's every expression. Whatever she did, be it a smile, or a grin, Jade could see they were not real. Amy was putting up an act of handling things well and it pained her her friend was like this. It would be better if she cried her heart out but this was worse. She couldn't even begin to imagine how terrible Amy was feeling on the inside. She had liked Blake for long, made preparations and had confessed her feelings to him, but she was rejected.
Jade could see that Amy more than liked that Blake guy. It was just a pity Amy's heart chose someone who didn't like her back.
Jade decided to accompany Amy in whatever madness would make her feel better.
When they arrived where was supposed to be their destination, Amy ordered Jade to go to the back seat.
"Why?" Jade asked in confusion.
"Just be obedient for once Peterson" Amy told her authoritatively, making Jade do exactly as she was told.
"Take off your trousers" Amy ordered as she rummaged through the pigeon hole for a paper clip and scissors.
"What? Are you okay?" Jade asked staring at Amy in confusion. She was supposed to take off her trousers here? Amy isn't going to make her go to the club without her pants right?
"Do it now" Amy said sternly as she continued searching for her tools. "Yes, found it" She said to herself when she found the scissors and paper clip. A frown spread across her face when she saw Jade still in her trousers.
"What do you want to do?" Jade asked staring at the scissors in her hand.
"Take it off and give it to me Jade" Amy ordered. Jade blinked a few times, she looked out the windows to check if anyone was in sight. She slowly unzipped her trousers and slipped it down.
"Here" Jade stretched the trousers to Amy who took it and soon started cutting a big square on the upper part of the trouser, the side which would be on Jade's thigh. She did same thing on the other leg but only that the square was smaller and a little bit below her left knee. Amy began to roughen the cut edges with the paper clip.
Jade stared at her once complete trousers which was now at the mercy of Amy's hands. she couldn't believe her jean was now completely ripped.
"Here" Amy passed back the trousers to Jade. Jade took it and closely examined it.
"Come on put it on" Amy urged her. After Jade had put her trousers back on, Amy joined her in the back seat. She tied Jade's shirt to the side, making it look like a tank top, revealing some part of her stomach. She let her hair lose and let it flowed freely to her shoulders and she applied some lip balm on Jade's lips.
"Now you look ready" Amy said with a smile.
" Amy don't you think I'm showing too much skin?" Jade wasn't comfortable with the fact that her belly was exposed.
"You're showing just the right amount. Now let's go" Amy grabbed her purse, opened the door and pulled Jade out of the car.
"Amy are you sure I look good?" Jade asked doubtfully. She wasn't a fan of clubs. As a matter of fact the only time she had been here was the night she had met Jake.
"You look perfect. This flat belly of yours, please show it to the world" Amy said before forcefully dragging Jade along.
Amy led Jade into the club which was full with people. One look at them and Jade could tell that they were not her regular type of people. Amy had gotten an invite due to her family influence.
They both walked into the club and Amy could feel eyes gawping at them. Only if Blake could look at her like this only for one minute.
They made their way to the bar and Amy ordered shots for them.
"Cheers to me being rejected" Amy clicked glasses with Jade. She gulped hers down and exhaled when she felt the alcohol hit her stomach. She waited for Jade who was awkwardly staring at hers.
"Drink up" She urged Jade. Jade closed her eyes and gulped down the glass. She frowned her face as she gulped down hers. But Amy passed her another.
"Hers to me completely forgetting about mini Beau" Amy raised another glass to her lips and gobbled it down and Jade followed suit.
They continued a few rounds with Amy raising a glass to reasons why she would forget about Blake.
"That's enough" Jade stopped Amy from taking another shot. She turned to one of the barista, "Please can you serve us one of those drinks with minimum alcohol" She said with a smile.
"No I need a dirty martini. Or something stronger that would probably wipe away the memories of my last 6 hours and also knock me out. Yes that's what I need" The bartender was confused on whose orders to take. Jade was about to protest but Amy glared at her. Jade sighed in resignation, she couldn't help but give in to Amy's request.
"Please do as she says" Jade told the bartender who simply nodded at them.
"Truth be told Jade, the last few hours of my life has been the most embarrassing and most hurtful ones. So cheers to that" She emptied her glass again.
She turned to the bar tender across the counter "Please don't let my glass run dry. I heard drinks will be free so keep it coming. I have a broken heart so please be generous" The barista's lip curved into a smile as he poured her another.
She turned back to Jade and continued. "Jade I have decided to give up on love and also to give up on him. He wants to be my friend but I want to be more than that. I want to be his woman and nothing else. It was so stupid of me to have such dreams that he'll somehow like me. Who was I kidding? I guess love isn't for me"
"Amy don't say that" Jade said softly.
"It's the truth. Micheal left me for someone else and now I got rejected, what else should I believe. Love isn't written in my destiny. Maybe I should become a nun and get married to Jesus because right now, I really hate myself for believing too much that I can belong to someone" She gulped down her drink again. Jade waited for her to continue but Amy just kept refilling her glass and said nothing.
"Let's dance" Amy said hitting the glass on the counter. Jade didn't even get to protest when Amy dragged her to the dance floor. Jade had no choice but to join Amy, who was going all wild even as she staggered. She was completely drunk but she kept going. Jade frowned when she saw a tear roll down Amy's eyes but she snatched a drink from a strangers hand and muttered "sorry" .
"Thats it Amy we're going home." Jade declared firmly.
"But..."
"I said let's go" She held Amy by the shoulders. She couldn't even work straight anymore. Just as Jade nearly tripped because of Amy's weight on her, a hand suddenly held them steady.
She raised her head up and she was surprised to see who their saviour was.
"Boss?" Amy called out sluggishly.
