"What do you mean?" Amy didn't understand him. Could there really be a side to him that wasn't likeable? She really doubted that. To her, he was more than perfect. He was like a piece of art divinely created onto perfection with a big halo hovering over his head.
He looked at her and he could see that she was indeed curious to know something he didn't want to talk about.
He signed exasperatedly before saying, "Let's just say, there was a time when programming was like life to me. It was all I knew and needed" He paused and scoffed. He continued....
"I mean you brother, Lair hyped me all over school back in the day. The hacks and stuffs got to me and I did something I shouldn't have done. And I've never typed a code since then" He said in a low and dejected tone, the smile which was currently on his face was fake and sad, and Amy could see it.
She has never seen him seen with such a look, and seeing him looking so regretful made her feel a pang in her heart. She didn't think it was wise to relieve such a moment. From his countenance it was as clear as day that he was still very much affected by whatever that was.
"I'm sorry for making you relieve a terrible memory. I shouldn't have asked" She sincerely apologized. Her eyes not living him for a moment.
"It's okay. It's past...I think" His voice lowered when he said those last words, as he tried to force a more sincere smile.
"So do you think you can do something about this?" Amy couldn't help but ask. Knowing that Blake had such godly skills she just had to ask.
Blake looked back at the systems, and sighed. "I want to help but I don't think I can. It's been years since I ever coded anything. And whoever this malware creator is, he/she is really good. The others hasn't been able to of anything about it and definitely not brother" Blake hissed dejectedly.
"You're kidding right?" Amy asked in disbelief, making Blake snap his neck to look at her, with a questioning gaze in his eyes. What was he kidding about?
Seeing the confused look in his eyes, Amy sighed.
"I just saw you do what experts do in five hours in minutes. I'm sure your brother isn't that great." She paused and closer before adding, "Don't tell him I said that. I still love my job" She lowered her voice. Her words brought an amused smile to Blake's lips, which definitely had an effect on her.
"I promise I won't" He said chuckling.
"I don't really know what happened in the past, but with what I've seen you do I'm completely sold out that you're the most talented programmer I've seen. And who ever that malware creator he/she can't hold water against you. I believe you can do this. The mind doesn't forget what to code, even if the mind does, the hands won't. The 1 and 0 is always in there. You just have to let yourself do it" Amy said to him. Blake locked gaze with her as he listened to her every word.
"I believe you can do this"
"But there isn't much I can do" He confessed.
"But have you tried?" She asked him, her gaze on was intense as she observed his every reaction.
Blake bit his lips and shook his head. "No I haven't"
"Do you think you want to try, because the others don't know what they are doing, me included if I'm to be honest. And I'm sure your brother must be having a hard time too" She told him.
Blake lolled back on the chair and looked up.
"Amy to be honest, I don't know if I can try. The fact that I successfully carried out the propagation doesn't mean I can still do-"
"You don't know until you try and I'm sure this will lessen your brother's issues" She looked at Blake who still has his gaze locked on the ceiling.
"And I can work along with you. After all my boss kicked me out of the office to go lesser work in the server room. So I'm practically useless"
Blake lowered his head to look at her, "Hey you're not useless, you're here and we're talking and to me that's enough work" He told.
His response made Amy roll her eyes at him, "Yeah it's work to you, because you hate working. It's no news" She said in a jocular order, while Blake chuckled.
"Well being lazy is the new busy. You can't dispute that" He replied pertly.
"Yeah right" Amy rolled her eyes again.
"Have I told you you look beautiful when you do that" Blake suddenly asked, surprising Amy.
"Are trying to flirt me with me again?" Amy asked him. Blake stared at her for some seconds before casually shrugging his shoulders.
"I wasn't flirting with you. That's called compliment, and you should say thank you" Blake told her, making Amy look at him suspiciously.
"Who compliments someone about rolling their eyes. That's weird"
"Well weird is beautiful. And beautiful is your eyes when you roll them" He said. Despite the fact that Amy found his weird, they still sounded weirdly beautiful.
Wait, why does it seem like she was trying to sound like him.
She tried not to be blush and looked at him "Then I guess I'll say thank you"
"You're welcome" Blake replied.
"So does this mean you're going to try Working on virus?" Amy returned his attention back to the issue at hand, while Blake hissed.
"It's not going to be easy. It can be next to impossible. But I guess it's worth a try, but only if –" His trailed off as he locked eyes with Amy once again.
"Only if you promise to work with me. I can do with the company" Blake told her, while Amy bobbed her head happily. She really needed to bury her mind with do much work.
"Of course.. Let's work together" She chipped.
