Chapter 227 - Losing Control –1

Jake kept working for hours while Jade tired herself out with games and some graphic designing, till she fell asleep. Just like Jake who has been busy with work for the past two days, she had also been busy thinking about him, and that has deprived her of some sleep.

She had asked Jake to take a nap and step away from work even for a little bit, but the man had refused, claiming he was used to it and wouldn't break down if that was what she feared. And instead of coaxing him to sleep, Jake had coaxed her to sleep.

And that was how she had ended up in Jake's office lounge, sleeping.

Jake looked up from the document in front of him to the door when he heard a knock.

"Come in" He said, and soon his secretary walked in.

"Sir the documents you asked for" Patrick said as he approached his desk, handing the documents to him.

"Thank you"

"Sir is there anything else you need?" Patrick asked. It was quite late and this would be the second day in a row since he has been staying behind with his boss. Jake hasn't gone home in the last 48 hours, but he had always asked his Secretary to leave whenever it was late. That was one of the reasons why he liked his boss. The man was considerate. The only negative thing he had in his life was the fact that he was a womanizer, but even that has changed. He had been very surprised when he saw Jade and his boss at the ball, and also this morning she had come looking for him, and hasn't left till now. And he had earlier caught them kissing so intensely this afternoon. These were stuffs his boss wasn't used to. He had always kept his women business in the clubs and never was a girl seen in his car. But now he was acting differently, and from the way he looks and acts with Jade, he was sure his boss has fallen in love.

Jake looked at the time, and it was 7pm already, he sighed. He looked at Patrick and said, "You have done well, please go home now. I'll take care of the rest"

With a happy and gladdened heart Patrick said, "Okay. Thank you sir. Have a good night"

"You too" Jake replied as he watched him leave. He looked across his desk and he was satisfied with the amount of work he had done. He had been a hundred percent more effective since his baby girl arrived. Thinking about her, he stood up from his seat and walked towards the lounge where she was sleeping.

Jake stood at the door his hand buried in his pockets as he watched her while she slept. He felt a joyous swell in his heart knowing that this girl was his, and that she loved him. He couldn't describe how proud he felt today when he realized just how intelligent his woman was. He had always known she had a great IQ, but witnessing it was something else. He was amazed.

He was surprised to find himself already sitted by the side, his eyes longingly staring at her. She looked so beautiful even in her sleep and she looked like an angel who shouldn't be disturbed, but before he realized what he was doing he was already leaning towards her, and his lips were already hovering over hers.

He placed a feathery kiss on her lips, and that was enough to stir Jade awake. She slowly flickered her eyes open and as expected Jake's face was only a breath away.

"Hey" She greeted in a hoarse voice as she tried to stiffle a yawn.

"Slept well?" Jake asked, while Jade nodded.

"I did. Are you done with your work?" She asked him with concern.

"Almost, but I can do them at home. First I have to get you home. It's late" He told her in a really gentle voice.

"Really? It's late?" Jade asked in surprise as she turned towards the windows and it was indeed dark outside. "How long did I sleep for?" She inquired.

"Three hours, forty five minutes" He arched a brow.

"What? Three hours?" She asked in shock as she quickly sat up, every remnant of sleep completely disappearing. "Why didn't wake me?" She asked with incredulity.

"For what?" Jake was confused. Why would he want to wake her when she was enjoying her sleep, and he also wanted her to rest well.

Jade looked at him like he had said something silly, and he deserved to be smacked by it. "To keep you company of course" She replied in an annoyed tone.

"But that's what you did. You kept me company even while you slept. Having you here fueled me up" He sincerely told her. And that was the exact truth.

Jade was touched by his words, the frown slowly forming on her face disappeared just as it came. "But I wanted to stay with you a bit more and not sleep" She said with a sad pout.

Jake smiled when she behaved like that. Her cute sad pout looked lovely on her. He leaned in and kissed her cheek. "There's nothing wrong in having you sleep. I wanted you to rest, you looked stress"

"And so do you. Look at your face, you're not doing a good job at looking handsome for me. You need rest too" She grazed the side of his cheek and his chin with her hand.

"So you don't find me handsome anymore?" Jake cocked a brow at her, while Jade shrugged casually.

"I think I have seen better"

"What? Jade!" He snapped while she gave him an innocent look. He was only trying to tease her. So what was that? Who was better?

"Babe you better not be looking at other guys" He warned, with narrowed eyes.

"Then you should work hard on staying pretty. It's not easy to maintain my interest. New trends are flooding the market, you have to up your game" She said with a straight face, making Jake's jaw drop as he looked at her in stupefaction. She was joking right? She has got to be joking. His heart was already racing.

She couldn't help but laugh when she saw his reaction. His expression was cute, and it made her chuckle.

"You don't have to take me serious. I was just joking" She laughed when he looked like he was about to turn red with jealousy. Why was he taking it serious?

Her response even made more surprised, a quick frown forming on his face. "You call that a joke?" He asked, while Jade nodded.

"You like tormenting me don't you? You're always threatening with scary stuffs, don't you know you're not supposed to do that?" His angry face right now was super cute and Jade couldn't help but laugh more.

"Calm down Jake, I was just joking" She said as she knelt on the bed. "You know I have eyes just for you. And who else can I look at other than you? You're the only trend in Vogue" She said as she leaned closer to him, a smile etched on her face. "You're always handsome and you're the most handsome guy I know"

Jake looked at her with suspicious eyes, even though he was feeling a tad bit better after hearing her say such words.

"You mean that right? I know I'm always looking gorgeous, isn't that why you fell in love with me?" He paused and frowned again. "But you have to stop describing with some fashion words. I look better than all those things on trend" He proudly said, making Jade roll her eyes. Did she forget he was such a conceited man?

Hell NO, she did not.

"Yeah yeah, I know. You're the most handsome man that has ever walked this planet. All the ladies pray to ogle at your gorgeousness. How lucky of me to date the words most handsome man" She said sarcastically, her eyes surreptitiously glaring at him. If only she could hiss right now and scratch that pretty face of his.

"No I don't want the other ladies to ogle at me, I want only you" He said turning to face her before placing a peck on her lips.

"I want to stay handsome only for you, so every other guy can fade in the background. And between us I'm the lucky one. Luck came my way when I met you, and when it comes to beauty, you're my beauty" His voice reducing by every word he said as he leaned in and kissed her, and that made her blush helplessly.

"That's so corny" She said between his kisses, slightly smacking his arm. She hooked her hand around his neck, as she deepened the kiss.

Jake swiftly lifted her and placed across his legs, so she was sitting on him. He used his tongue to seek entrance into her mouth which she granted him. He slid his tongue into her hot mouth, their engaging in a tango earning moans from their lips.

Jade could feel her go blank as he kissed so intensely. The intensity at which he kissed her, and the way his hand were crawling over her body, Jade could barely keep up.

Just like Jade, Jake was slowly losing himself. He was slowly being overwhelmed by his emotions. Her soft and lupscious lips, her warm breath, her sweet smile, the way she was holding him tightly and having sit on his rising bulge, while they were sitting on a bed, Jake could barely hold back.

Heaven knows how much he wanted to take right now. For the first time he wanted to make love and not have sex, but he couldn't let himself to. Though they had done it before, the situation at that time was a complicated one. That was her first time which he had ruined, but he wasn't going to make the same mistake again. He'd respect her and things the right way..

That's only if he can truly hold on for that long.

With that thought in mind he slowly pulled away from the kiss, and said, "Baby let's get you home"
