"I'm sorry, I made you wait." Sounding sorry, Vivian Xi sighed as she placed her hand on her chest as soon as she trudged inside the luxury mall.
"It's fine, Madam Xi. I also had some things to do so I arrived just minutes ago." Offering an understanding smile, Olivia Tang lied.
In reality, Olivia Tang arrived minutes before their agreed meeting time. In her mind, she couldn't make Vivian Xi wait. In other words, Olivia Tang had waited for a total of two hours.
Still, she had to put up an understanding smile as she was several levels below Vivian Xi in the social hierarchy. Olivia Tang was well-aware of that. Thus, no matter how displeased she was, what's important was Vivian Xi arrived.
"That's good to hear. My son and future daughter-in-law took most of my time — what an adorable couple." Shaking her head, Vivian Xi chuckled with a sense of pride in her.
Finally! Vivian Xi could brag about having a daughter-in-law, and soon a grandchild! After all, although everyone around her compliments Matthew Xi, it won't still compare when her friends discuss their children's life.
Not to mention, their grandchildren! Hence, whenever Vivian Xi was around, they usually avoided that subject. But now, Vivian Xi finally could relate!
"Ahh..." Olivia Tang chuckled along with her. "I'm sure Young Master's fiancee is beautiful!" She added, intrigued by what kind of woman had caught Matthew Xi's interest.
Although Olivia Tang 'hadn't' met Matthew Xi, she had heard a thing or two about the man. The rumors about Matthew Xi were never a secret — most people in the business field and even the entertainment industry knew about it.
Hence, it was intriguing to know that he really wasn't gay. Just who was the lucky woman who would be the next matriarch of the Xi Family?
"Of course! Not just beautiful, but very interesting. I'm sure you'll get along with her once you meet her." Vivian Xi's lips stretched from ear to ear, elated as she recalled Zoey's face. Although Zoey was clad in a casual shirt, jeans, and sneakers, her beauty was apparent.
"Alas, it will take me awhile to bring her along with me." From her elated mood, it instantly plummeted down as she was reminded of the dilemma. "My son needs to work extra hard to make her fall for him." With a heavy sigh, Vivian Xi added, disheartened at her statement.
Upon hearing Vivian Xi's last remarks, Olivia Tang furrowed her brows. "Madam Xi, what do you mean Young Master needs to work hard? Does that mean...?"
"The literal meaning. My future daughter-in-law seems even less interested than my son. It's frustrating, but more than that, it's amusing!" Without a pause, Vivian Xi spouted as she shook her head sideways.
From her perspective, while she watched Matthew Xi and Zoey earlier, Vivian Xi noticed the difference in the eyes of Zoey and Matthew Xi. Obviously, Vivian Xi knew her son well.
Therefore, there was no doubt that her son was a lost cause. As a mother, she knew that Matthew Xi might not admit it but he wasn't just interested with Zoey: He sought for mutual feelings from her.
On the other hand, although Zoey seemed liked the person who was initiating everything, Vivian Xi's sharp instincts told her that Zoey's feelings towards Matthew weren't as deep as her son.
It was disappointing in a way. Alas, Vivian Xi thought it was the best.
"Ahh..." Olivia Tang sucked her teeth as she forced a smile. 'What a weird way of thinking!' She thought inwardly.
In Olivia Tang's eyes, if she was in Vivian Xi's shoes, she would perceive it as an insult. The Xi Family possessed almost everything. Why would she allow her son to pursue a woman? Shouldn't it be the other way round?
"Anyway, enough talking for now. Let's go shopping! I plan to change my entire closet to ordinary ones — I need a full makeover!" Elated at her plan, Vivian Xi clasped her hands together in excitement.
With that said note, Vivian Xi dragged Olivia Tang around and the latter even carried a few of Olivia Tang's paper bags. Fortunately, they were Vivian Xi's purchase.
Alas, the problem was Vivian Xi didn't shop in any luxury boutique. She shopped inside the department store and bought plain-looking cheap clothes, which appalled Olivia Tang.

Meanwhile...
"Be honest: you haven't gone on a date?" Raising her head as she set her eyes across her, Zoey inquired.
They were still at the fast-food restaurant as both had no idea where to go. Matthew Xi had offered to drive her home and call it a day.
However, Zoey wouldn't waste this day — never in her life would she waste something so precious! Therefore, the two had been stuck in their seats for as long as they could remember.
"..." Obviously, Matthew Xi replied with only his poker face. Still, despite the lack of emotions in his visage, Zoey clearly got the answer from the look in his eyes.
"Gosh... how can you not date before? No wonder you don't have any suggestions for places." Sighing, Zoey murmured as she continued to search through her phone's browser.
'I do have suggestions...' Inside his mind, he replied. However, despite having ideas, he couldn't speak about them aloud since that would literally give her the biggest clue.
After all, the places Matthew Xi knew of and frequently visited had a tight security. Only those who had memberships could enter the premises — and memberships were harder to obtain for those without enough wealth.
They were the hangout places of elites among elites. Zoey would surely question him as he couldn't use the XI Corporation's privilege as an excuse.
"Ahh!" Suddenly, Zoey slammed the table which startled a few people eating near their table. Yet, Zoey couldn't care less as she showed her phone's screen with a grin.
"Let's date like a real couple! Look! I found a romantic place for a date!" Zoey exclaimed excitedly. "Let's do skydiving!" She added, causing his under eye to twitch.
'This... isn't romantic.' He muttered internally, watching her decide on her own as her eyes twinkled.
