Chapter 265 - Regal Party VIII

"So — son?" Holding on her cheek that received the sweet slap from Vivian Xi, Olivia Tang paled as her eyes shook.

Scanning the people around, Olivia Tang realized that she had misunderstood their lack of reaction. They were not surprised at Matthew Xi's lack of etiquette, but they couldn't react because it was Matthew Xi that came.

So... this man... this man she offended over and over again was the real Matthew Xi? But, Zoey said... right, she must have purposely deceived them just for this day.

With that thought in mind, Olivia Tang shifted her threatening gaze to Zoey standing not far away from behind Vivian Xi. "Ma — madam, I think we're having a misunderstanding! I — I didn't mean to hu — hurt young master Xi!" Realizing how grave her situation was, Olivia Tang swallowed all pride she had as she immediately crashed onto the tiled floor while looking up at the unmoved Vivian Xi.

How could Olivia Tang go overboard this time? Deep down, she knew this was an impossible feat to fix. She already assaulted Matthew Xi and Vivian Xi was an overprotective mother like her.

If Olivia Tang's outburst was because she witnessed how Matthew Xi hurt her son, she couldn't expect that Vivian Xi would remain calm.

Meanwhile, when Ezekiel Tang heard Vivian Xi call Matthew Xi her son, he felt that someone splashed him a bucket of cold water. His disbelief gaze darted from Vivian Xi's unappeased front to Matthew Xi whose cheek turned red.

He felt sober despite all the wine he had consumed earlier. Yet, his mind could not help but think what was going on. He unconsciously glanced at Richard Sun, and saw the latter give him an indifferent gaze as he shrugged his shoulders, as if telling him 'I warned you before, didn't I?'.

'That guy...!' Yet, despite his shock, Ezekiel Tang could not help but feel the mockery in Richard Sun's eyes. He obviously let Ezekiel Tang do what he wanted despite knowing Matthew Xi's real identity.

Richard Sun knew all along. From the time Matthew Xi and Zoey attended his engagement night, Richard Sun knew the truth all along. Yet, he didn't directly tell him and let them offend the man over and over again. This realization just heightened Ezekiel Tang's rage that was about to explode at any moment.

"Misunderstanding?" Vivian Xi scoffed; she couldn't believe that until now, Olivia Tang was denying her actions. "Did anyone misunderstand the situation?" Moving her gaze, Vivian Xi directed her question to the guests nearby.

"I didn't misunderstand, Auntie." On the stage, Alice who should be the center of attention coldly spoke over the microphone.

Her excitement for this day was replaced by coldness due to these pair of unwelcome guests. Moreover, none of the Xi cousins were amused by the slap Matthew Xi was inflicted upon.

To them, Matthew Xi was the symbol of the Xi Family's prestige. Hence, disrespecting him, what more was hurting him before everyone which wouldn't receive any good remarks.

If anyone could just disrespect Matthew Xi, then no one would respect them either. That's how every Xi family's mentality has been. It wasn't spoken verbally, that's the silent understanding they had.

"Madam Tang, I think you and your son are the one who have a misconception about your standing." There was no trace of emotion in Vivian Xi's voice as she looked down on Olivia Tang who was on her knees.

"Who do you think you are to stir trouble and hurt someone else's son? I've invited you here to give you a chance to apologize to my son for calling him a nobody but..." Vivian Xi's aura grew colder with each passing second as she restrained herself from clawing Olivia Tang's face.

"Oh god... how foolish those people are! They didn't just slap Mr. Xi but they seemed they had offended him over and over again."

"I knew those people were troublesome. Good thing I distanced myself earlier."

"*sigh* it's over for them. I should call my father and warn him not to do business with the Tangs."

"A nobody, huh? This is the reason I don't associate with middle class families. They think too highly of themselves that often clouds their judgment." Meanwhile, murmurs from the crowd also began to grow louder as they scoffed their disdain towards the pair of Tang mother and son.

As they do so, Clara Wei who just managed to get along with a few elite women could not help but purse her lips into a thin line. At this moment, she wanted to dig a hole and hide from embarrassment.

Still, deep down, she was glad Ezekiel Tang left him alone. Or else, she would also be the center of this drama.

Clara Wei then glanced at Zoey who was now standing to Matthew Xi while checking his cheek. She could not help but ball her hand into a fist that was trembling.

'I hate her. This is all that woman's fault!' Clara Wei scorned internally. Yet, deep down, it was her utter jealousy that Zoey seduced the most yearned bachelor in the country: Matthew Xi.

After Zoey chased her fiance, how was she able to come back with a better man? Why does a woman like Zoey who was nothing from the start have a better man than her?

Right now, Clara Wei who initially thought Ezekiel Tang was the best, appeared as a small time businessman. Ezekiel Tang was initially a gentle noble, but in her eyes right now, Clara Wei realized how pathetic he was compared to Matthew Xi.

"Madam, please, let me explain. I didn't mean—"

"If anyone here starts a business with the Tangs, I assure each of you that the Xi will cut ties with you — no exception." Even before Vivian Xi could hear more crap from Olivia Tang, her voice bounced across the entire hall as she gave her warning.

However, even though Vivian Xi said those words, it was unnecessary. Why? Because most of the guests who represented their respective families had already informed their family back home about blacklisting the Tang Family.

On the other hand, guests who were already the head of their family and businesses already had that thought in mind. The Tang had already been cancelled from the time Ezekiel Tang opened his mouth and talked down to Matthew Xi.

"Madam, please don't do this to me. I know we're wrong but my son only did it because Miss Xi Ruby asked to escort Miss Zhou out!" Desperate, Olivia Tang dragged Ruby Xi who already knew what she had done wrong back in the subject.

Upon hearing this, Ruby Xi glared at Olivia Tang. "Yes! It was Miss Xi who wanted to give the order!" Backing his mother's solution, Ezekiel Tang exclaimed which made the air grow more suffocating.

"Ruru..." After a long silence, Matthew Xi finally spoke but his gaze didn't leave Olivia Tang's figure.

When Ruby Xi heard her cousin, her shoulder stiffened as she shuddered in fear. She knew she did wrong and she made a clouded judgement for treating Zoey like that. Still, Ruby Xi was uncertain what would happen to her tonight.

Will she get disowned? Would Matthew Xi pressure RB Entertainment again? What would it be this time? Whatever it was, Ruby Xi was certain her fate wouldn't be better than this mother and son duo. That's why her hate towards them grew stronger.

"Matthew..." Just then, Zoey slipped her fingers into Matthew Xi's large hand as she whispered his name.

The way she called obviously startled Matthew Xi as she rarely called him by first name. Turning to face her, he saw her gently smile as if telling him to calm down and make a fair judgement.

"Escort Mr. and Madam Tang out." Seeing Zoey's expression, Matthew Xi dropped the current situation as he ordered.

However, Ezekiel Tang who had already embraced his fate ground her teeth. "Mr. Xi, do you think she's with you because of love?" He scoffed. If he was going down, Ezekiel Tang wouldn't just go down easily.

Sure, he was already defeated but, he wanted to plant this seed of doubt in Matthew Xi. After all, Zoey's track record wasn't clean and Matthew Xi, who had trust issues would surely engrave this warning in mind deep down.

Upon hearing the struggling yet horrible remarks from Ezekiel Tang, everyone gasped in disbelief as he was truly courting death! They were too mortified at the level of stupidity this man has!

"Oh god....!" Everyone unconsciously had the same thought as Ezekiel Tang had already received mercy, yet he didn't want it!
