Chapter 305 - Angelo

"But Zia..." Ivan paused, his brows creased and he unconsciously took a step back. "Iñigo is dead." He affirmed, staring right into her eyes.

"Me and Niko saw his body." Ivan clarified, reminding Zoey that the person everyone treated as a taboo was dead already.

Everyone in the Silva Family had mourned for him. Although Iñigo was almost the complete opposite of Nikolai Silvestri, they were still brothers.

"Did you take his pulse?" Unfazed by the facts thrown at her, Zoey arched her brow. "Did anyone touch his body and genuinely mourn for him? Ivan, he could've staged the entire funeral since the Silva Family had done it for formality." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly as she faced the water flowing while the glint of the moonlight shone on its surface.

"Keep this information classified and only inform Niko about it — no one else." Zoey slowly bent down, picking up a pebble and tossed it in the air then catching it; she repeated it multiple times while slowly facing the two standing behind her.

"If this information is leaked, I'll be coming after you." As Zoey dropped those words, she threw the small pebble directly at Angelo's eyes.

Fortunately, Angelo's reflexes were so fast that he was able to catch the pebble in time. Slowly, he put his fist down, staring back at Zoey with bafflement.

"Why me?" He asked.

Angelo didn't need to add anything in the sentence as it was obvious. There were two of them: Ivan and Angelo. Thus, there were two of them that could be suspicious, yet Zoey was only one threatening him.

"I have a strong nose, I smell lies." Zoey shrugged, adding playfulness to her words as she turned her head towards Ivan.

"Anyway, tell Niko to never call me — I'll contact him instead. He will know what to do with my information." Zoey nodded her head, as if encouraging Ivan to follow her instructions properly.

Ivan sighed heavily, but nodded his head in the end. "Alright. Anyway, I betted on your opponent. There's no way you're winning."

"Ah?" For a second, Zoey didn't seem to understand what Ivan said before her face began to distort. "Did you distract me on purpose?!" Zoey ground her teeth as she glared daggers at Ivan.

"No?" Ivan denied, "I just wanted to accompany sis." Unconsciously, Ivan addressed Zoey like how he addressed her in the past.

Probably because of how Zoey's behavior at the moment made him relax. This was the Zoey he had known from the start, and not the hardworking, love drunk, and pretentious Zoey.

The Zoey he knew was real, dangerous yet had a heart of gold, was smart and cool. The woman standing before him was that person; no holding back.

"Do you know your sis will become someone's slave now?" Zoey watched him murmur and look away, causing her to sigh helplessly.

She then trudged a few steps forward, raising her hand and tiptoed as she patted his head. "Let's play next time, okay?" Zoey said, giving Ivan a kind smile as if he was her little brother.

Unlike what others would expect from the respectable and often composed Ivan, Zoey's action made him timid. "Okay..." He nodded his head, his cheek glowed slightly pinkish while the side of his lips curled up into a meek smile.

"Pray that a miracle happens and that Kenneth Bai's bike stopped functioning before he could reach the finish line." Zoey humored while waving her hand. Obviously, she had accepted her loss.

Aside from feeling a little regretful because of the prize for tonight, Zoey was still glad that she met Ivan before she could fly back to Europe. Her heart felt content upon meeting Cora Ma, Matthew Xi, Enzo Li, and then now Ivan living peacefully in this lifetime.

Although Enzo Li's case was different, deep down, Zoey was overjoyed about this whole reset. They might not remember her and the memories they shared together that happened in the future; knowing they were alive was enough for her.

"See you around." Zoey cocked her head to the side before putting her helmet on and jumped on her motorcycle. Without further ado, she started the engine and slowly sped away.

Meanwhile, Ivan and Angelo watched her depart until the light of her motorcycle was out of their sight. "Sis..." Under his breath, Ivan murmured while his eyes softened.

The last time Zoey told him was not to show his face again to her. She told him to leave her alone because she wanted to turn into a new leaf. She wouldn't be able to do that if her past kept on popping in front of her.

But now, she just said 'see you around'. Does that mean she was looking for meeting him again? Like she wouldn't get mad and send him away like last time?

Having that thought in mind, Ivan's meek smile grew bigger as his big sister — not by blood — seemed to return. "Gelo, let's go." He said, walking back to his motorcycle and putting his helmet on.

Meanwhile, Angelo constantly glanced at Ivan, studying every change of his expression. Upon hearing Ivan's invitation, a glint flashed across his blue eyes before shifting his gaze down to the pebble in his hand.

"Ivan, I don't think your friend trusts me." When Ivan finally secured his helmet, he heard Angelo's voice from where he was standing.

"She didn't mean that."

"Really?" Without looking away at his hand, Angelo slightly tilted his hand that caused the pebble to move. The moment it moved, a slight scrape on his palm was seen.

One could tell that the impact of the pebble was strong. If he didn't catch it, Angelo's eyes would be bleeding now as her aim was precise.

This wasn't an act of joking; it was a warning. Unbeknownst to Ivan, the side of Angelo's lips curled up into an amused smirk as he glanced at the direction Zoey vanished to.

"Gelo," Once again, Ivan called out, snapping Angelo back from his deep thoughts.

"I'll follow you. We need to collect our winnings." The brief malicious intent that flashed across his blue eyes disappeared, returning to his usual demeanor and jogged back to his motorbike.

After a few minutes, the two began speeding away back to the starting point of the race.. Well, they betted on Kenneth Bai, so they needed to collect their money.
