After Zoey shushed Ivan, he didn't make a single sound and even watched his breathing. The longer they drove, the more Ivan tightened his grip on the handle.
He had been in risky situations before, but with Zoey, it was different. It was not just risky, but also unpredictable. Still, he trusted her because they'd been friends for a long time. Zoey wouldn't do anything if she wasn't sure about something, especially in this kind of situation.
The race earlier wasn't counted because Zoey sometimes challenged herself to see if she could do a miracle of defeating Kenneth Bai.
Soon, they were tailing Kenneth Bai again. Fortunately, this road was closed off and not a single car aside from them was driving on the road. The reason Zoey wanted Kenneth Bai to pass the two trucks was because this was a safe road after they turned.
Slowly, Zoey switched lanes while keeping her momentum so they could drive beside Kenneth Bai. It didn't take long enough before they were driving beside the man who was in greater danger.
"Hey!" When Zoey rolled down the window, she shouted to get Kenneth Bai's attention. "Can you jump over here?!" She added, alternating her head from the road to the man driving to the side.
"What?!" His voice was muffled, but Zoey managed to hear his reply.
"Tsk! Dumb Kenneth." Zoey clicked her tongue as she moved closed to him. Alas, Kenneth Bai moved away as he nearly scraped the sports car with the tip of the handle grip.
"Stupid idiot!" Zoey growled, having the urge to smack Kenneth Bai in the head as he was too paranoid.
Zoey's initial plan was for Kenneth Bai to hold on to the sports car's door and let go of the motorcycle. He would inflict a few minor injuries with his gear protection, but nonetheless, he would be alive.
However, Kenneth Bai had already lost his wits. Hence, Zoey would have to use her second plan. "Van, you drive! Make sure we don't die!" Without facing Ivan, Zoey ordered as she unbuckled her seat.
"Ah? What?" Confused, Ivan's hands instinctively held on the steering wheel and watched Zoey unbuckle her seat. She forced the door open despite the strong wind that was blowing against their speed.
"Sis, don't tell me..." Ivan's voice trailed off when Zoey finally pushed the door open. Seeing Zoey cling onto the edge while her hand extended and tried to reach the speeding motorcycle, Ivan immediately unbuckled his seat.
He needed to drive closer to Kenneth Bai and the buckle seat was restraining him. Thus, Ivan had to take the risk to safeguard Zoey. After all, one wrong move and Zoey would fall on the ground.
"Bai Stupid Kenneth!" Zoey shouted, having the deadly intent to push him out of his vehicle instead. However, if she did that, Zoey's efforts were all for naught.
"Heey! Listen to me! Hop inside while I hold your stupid bike, okay?!" Zoey raised her voice louder than before so he could understand.
"What?! How?!" Kenneth Bai shouted back, seeing that Zoey was coming too close for reaching the handle grip.
"Do you trust me?!"
"No!" Without batting an eye, Kenneth Bai answered stubbornly. How could he ever trust anyone in this situation. What if it failed?
"You don't have a choice!" Zoey resisted to roll her eyes as she could not help but feel annoyed by this guy's stubbornness. Does he understand that whether or not this failed, the outcome if he didn't get off from this motorcycle was the same?
"Come!" Zoey added, finally holding the handle grip, her back against the open door as she tried to fight against the strong wind.
Meanwhile, Ivan completely took over the driver's seat as he could no longer maneuver the car with just holding the steering wheel. Zoey was just clinging onto the opened door and if they lagged behind, they would just start from scratch with a much bigger danger.
For a moment, Kenneth Bai hesitated as he faced Zoey despite their speed. He saw her nod her head, her eyes gleamed with pure determination to save him.
Kenneth Bai clenched his teeth as hard as he could as he nodded his head. He swallowed down, slightly letting go of the handle grip.
"It's fine, it's fine. You can do it!" Zoey cheered lowly, trying to get his full trust so he could calm down.
She repeated those words over and over again, while Kenneth Bai carefully lifted his other leg to the other side. Ivan, on the other hand drove even closer to them so Kenneth Bai only needed a bit of faith to hop inside.
Slowly but surely, Kenneth Bai gritted his teeth as he needed a little effort and he would be safe. However, during the last moments, the motorcycle Zoey was holding onto wobbled, causing a panic to set in Kenneth Bai and he jumped into Ivan's lap without a single thought.
"Oof!" Because of the sudden aggressiveness, Ivan's hand on the steering wheel turned to the side before he turned it back instinctively. However, the one who implicated that break of the flow was Zoey.
"Ah!" She winced, as she let go of the motorcycle. She wasn't hurt by the motorcycle, but by the door that was against her back. That sudden disturbance with their momentum caused the door to move forcefully which added heaviness on her back.
"Sis!" Upon hearing her faint squeal, Ivan's eyes widened as his heart suddenly pounded.
"It's okay! I'm fine!" Despite that her expression revealed that she was in pain, Zoey nodded her head and reassured him.
Ivan just nodded his head and slowly decelerated in speed. Fortunately, everything was in perfect timing because they were about to approach the city. If they didn't make it in time, Kenneth Bai would not just crash against a single truck, but many more because the city was more crowded.
Meanwhile, Zoey watched the faulty motorcycle crash behind as smoke released above. "Jeez...." Zoey murmured as she noticed how the tires almost blew up from all the reckless driving.
