Chapter 369 - Lo — Lover?!

Two days later...

"Nice." A satisfied smile formed on her lips, her eyes gleamed as the glint of her 'new car' reflected in them.

"Wow, Boss Zhou..." Melanie awed, eyes twinkling at the car delivered this morning to her boss. "You're living large now..." She mumbled, clasping her hands together excitedly before she frowned.

"But we're running out of ink..." Melanie mumbled, glancing at the indifferent Zoey and then to Ivan who was checking out the engine inside the car's hood.

Although Melanie was happy for Zoey's new things, however, part of her was worried. She was worried that Zoey would be in debt. It wasn't her business, but she cared. She just didn't want to sound so meddlesome because Zoey was still her boss.

"Thank you. Please tell Mr. Bai I appreciate him for keeping up his side of the deal." Zoey uttered, signing the documents after Ivan gave her a thumbs up — meaning, the car was in good condition.

"Yes, Miss Zhou." Upon accepting the form she had signed, the person who delivered the car to her took a step back. Without further ado, he bowed his head and walked away.

"So, it's all good?" Zoey watched the person walk away for a second before she trudged towards Ivan.

"Mhmm," He hummed a tune, not glancing at Zoey as his eyes roved around the engine. "I don't see anything bad but I think it's weird." He added, extending his arm inside to see further.

"Hmm... he customized it." Zoey commented, glancing at the engine once. She then leaned on her side, crossing her arms as she smiled.

Slowly, Ivan turned his head to her. "Customized it?" He asked, knitting his brows before returning his eyes back to the engine. "If he customized it, no wonder it looks weird..." Ivan nodded his head in understanding, feeling enlightened as the engine, although compatible with the car's body, was suited for racing.

"I had asked him but I didn't think he'd really do it." Zoey shrugged her shoulders, chuckling at how Kenneth took her words seriously.

Well, not that she was surprised. After all, Kenneth tended to pay attention to little details and words. He's observant and probably discerned that there was truth in her joke. Hence, he upgraded the engine for it to run faster than normal ones.

"Hah, whatever. At the very least, we can get away if anything goes wrong." Upon hearing her brief explanation, Ivan pushed himself away from the hood, facing Zoey with a blank face.

"Exactly." She winked, grinning from ear to ear. "Want to test it?" She proposed, blinking her eyes many times.

"Why don't you try it yourself?"

"You'll be my driver, duh?" In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey stated which caused Ivan's face to remove all lingering emotions on his face.

"Uhm, boss?" Melanie, who was left forgotten on the side, stepped forward.

"Oh, Mel! I thought you went inside!" Upon hearing the timid voice of Melanie, Zoey snapped and turned to face her.

"Your brother..." Melanie pursed her lips in a thin line, using her chin to point in the distance where a familiar car was approaching.

With that being said, Zoey and Ivan turned their head into the direction of the approaching car. Ivan, who had seen the same vehicle two nights ago, glanced at Zoey.

"Where's the key?" Cold and emotionlessly, Ivan spread his palms open.

Zoey looked at him for a second, sighed seeing that Ivan's aura instantly changed. "Ivan," She called him out calmly, but Ivan was unmoved.

"Sis, I'll do the test driving."

"Whatever." After a heavy sigh, Zoey tossed the keys to him which he caught mid air. "Take care." Zoey reminded him as Ivan jogged towards the driver's seat.

Without further ado, Ivan hitched inside the car. Meanwhile, Zoey stepped aside as the engine started and the car slowly drove away.

Zoey turned to look at Zion's car as it stopped not far away from her. It took a second before Zion exited the car.

'Brother...' Zoey smiled, her eyes softened upon laying her eyes on Zion's side profile. She then skipped her steps towards him, welcoming Zion with a smile.

As Zoey skipped her steps to him, Zion closed the door of the driving seat and then turned to her. Upon seeing that Zoey was smiling and emanated a welcoming air, his eyes softened lovingly and smiled.

"Z..." He called out softly, spreading his arms open as he welcomed the little bunny approaching him.

"Brother!" Zoey excitedly exclaimed, throwing herself into Zion Kwan's arms for a hug. "I missed you!" She muttered, the corner of her eyes welling up slightly.

"I'm sorry and I missed you too." Zion patted her back, smiling as he felt the warmth of his sister. Unbeknownst to him, Zoey already forgot what happened months ago and she missed him from her previous life time.

Minutes later, Zoey stepped back carrying a bright smile on her lips, revealing her even white teeth. "You look young, hehe." She commented, chuckling at how youthful Zion was looking that day unlike his appearance from eight years later.

Zoey didn't notice any changes in her previous life. But now, after seeing him again, Zoey could see the difference. Surely, Zion, although was still dashing eight years later, his charm was different now, much more vibrant than the slight gloom he would carry in the future.

"Haha." Zion laughed, shaking his head as he assumed that she was joking. "Is that your car?" He asked, changing the subject as he saw the car earlier before a familiar foreigner drove it away.

"Yes!" Proud, Zoey's lips grew wider. "That's mine, aren't you proud?" She perked up, seeking praise from him.

"I see... it's good, Z." Zion patted her head, nodding in understanding. "I'm proud of you." He expressed, offering a sincere smile.

"Hehe~"

"But, who is that man?" Still bearing his gentle smile, Zion inquired, causing Zoey to raise her brows in puzzlement. "I mean, the foreigner who drove your car away." He clarified.

"Ahh..." Upon that brief clarification, Zoey nodded her head. "That's Ivan, my assistant!" Still sounding proud, Zoey answered. Well, Ivan was her assistant now, so, giving that answer would reduce Zion's question.

"Oh... that's why he looks familiar." Zion nodded his head, glancing at the road where Ivan drove off.

"Familiar?" Zoey knitted her brows together. 'Did Ivan threaten him? Or did he spy on them out of boredom?' Zoey wondered, thinking of creepy action Ivan did before Zoey time traveled.

"Mhmm. He is Cora's lover. I encountered them two nights ago when he dropped Cora at her place." Zion explained, sounding naturally fine with a smile.

However, Zoey's reaction was aghast after processing this information.. "Lo — lover?!" Out of shock, Zoey gasped with her eyes widened in dismay as her jaw dropped open, absolutely gobsmacked.
