Chapter 378 - Meeting With Jimmy Feng

The next day…

Inside a fancy private Japanese diner room, Ivan and Zoey waited for Jimmy Feng to arrive. Unlike Zoey who was enjoying the view outside, Ivan seemed rather restless.

"Sis, are you sure he's coming?" Ivan asked, leaning towards Zoey as he sat behind her on the tatami mat.

"Relax," Zoey sipped her third tea calmly. "Why don't you have tea so you can enjoy the moment?" She proposed, glancing behind her shoulder.

"I am calm," He frowned, sighing as he shook his head. "But hell be late for almost an hour in the next 15 minutes. Do you think he found a way to counter your blackmail?" Ivan added, thinking logically of the possibility.

After all, the intruder three days ago must have run his mouth more than he should. Thus, Jimmy Feng could have mobilized his influence for such news coming to the public. Considering he has enough wealth and power, that wasn't impossible.

In other words, Zoey's blackmailing would be useless. If that was the case, Z Image Group would be doomed. She wouldn't be able to fund the debts she has right now because Zoey had signed a contract with her suppliers already. She couldn't breach the contract if she didn't want a lawsuit.

"I doubt that." Still calm and clear headed, Zoey sipped her tea again. "Ahhh…" She breathed softly, relishing the taste and aroma of the authentic Japanese tea. "It's been awhile since I drank something fancy… how nice." She mumbled, inhaling the aroma from her tea which soothed her mind and body.

"*Sigh*" As Ivan watched her, he helplessly shook his head. "There's no use worrying if the person who will be directly affected doesn't care." He muttered, picking up his own tea cup and drank it in one go.

"It's delicious, isn't it?" After Ivan chugged down his tea, Zoey's question reached his ear. "It is, don't ask me to pay for it if he ditched you." His tone was laced with sarcasm, not really a fan of tea as he's a coffee person.

"Hehe, of course, I won'. I still have a face to maintain in front of my assistant." She chuckled, slowly placing her tea on the table. "This Jimmy Feng will." Zoey smirked; Ivan might have failed to see the smirk on her lips but his radar could detect it.

"If he comes," He frowned, his remarks were once again full of negativity. There wasn't the slightest hope in his heart that someone like Jimmy Feng would suck up to a no name business woman.

He wouldn't send someone to threaten Zoey in the first place if he was terrified. After all, if there was the slightest possibility that scaring Zoey off would fail -- which already happened -- she might go straight to the media and release whatever she was holding against him.

Perhaps, Jimmy Feng already prepared himself for that? It had been three days since that incident happened. Thus, three days was enough for him to do precautionary methods if Zoey made a reckless move.

"He will." Zoey closed her eyes, enjoying the calm breeze from the garden. "He is just showing his superiority. That's all." She added, taking deep breaths as if she was meditating.

"I don't care. I hate waiting just to suck up to unimportant bastards." In a matter-of-fact tone, Ivan grumbled as he spread his legs that were earlier in a seiza style. He wasn't used to it, making his feet numb because all his weight was on it.

Ten minutes later, Ivan had the urge to lay flat on his back. "Damn…' Through his gritted teeth, Ivan cursed. Every second that passed felt like eternity to him. He couldn't use his phone or he had anything to do. In other words, waiting was always boring.

Out of curiosity, Ivan glanced at Zoey. She still looked calm, relaxing as she meditated in silence. 'I've had enough peace.' Ivan complained internally, not enjoying the same peace just like Zoey.

Just as Ivan was complaining and planned to lay flat on his back, a faint knock from outside stopped him from doing so. Without anyone announcing, the door opened and Ivan sat properly, knees on the floor, his buttocks on his heel with the top of his feet flat on the floor.

"Ahem,' Ivan cleared his throat, hoping to get Zoey's attention.

When the door opened, a female attendant gestured to the two middle-aged men to head inside. The man standing behind the person in the front bowed his head slightly towards the female attendant; the latter did the same.

Meanwhile, the person with a few of his gray hair brushed back to his black ones, thin rimmed glasses clung on his dorsal hump, his monolid eye searched the room. It soon landed on the lady inside, glinting upon seeing her calm demeanor.

Without a word, the man walked towards the table, and perched on the seat opposite the lady. On the other hand, his assistant who appeared to be the same age as him sat in the same manner behind the man.

'So this is the guy,' Ivan scrutinized Jimmy Feng's demeanor, not surprised that his personality was as wicked as his appearance. Not that he judged any book from the cover, but oh well, he's a judgemental person who based half of someone's impression by a person's looks before their personality.

"Ahem," Jimmy Feng broke the silence, seeing Zoey was unmoving with her eyes closed as if she was meditating. She didn't even bother to give him some respect when he arrived which was a basic knowledge to do for doing business. After all, he was way above her in all aspects.

Slowly, Zoey opened her eyes. The moment she did, their eyes met and then the side of her lips curled into a polite smile. "Good to see you, CEO Feng." She greeted calmly, causing Jimmy Feng to scoff in disdain.

"No wonder you have to use wicked means, you lack business ethics and don't know your place." Without a pause, Jimmy Feng immediately shot her an insult and didn't feel the need to hold back.

Despite his hot blooded insults, Zoey chuckled. "No wonder you're getting caught by a small yet ambitious fly, Master Feng." She humored, covering her lips by the back of her hand. "You don't know when to stop." She added, slowly putting down her hand and revealed her innocent smile. On the other hand, Jimmy Feng frowned as he didn't like her smart mouth.

"Hah! Such audacity…" Jimmy Feng sneered, his eyes glinted in malice. "I commend your courage, Miss Zhou." He complimented with a touch of mockery.

"You flatter me, Master Feng. I should be the one saying that." Zoey winked, implying a double meaning in her words as she tapped her nails on the surface of the table, producing a nice sound as she grinned. "After all, you still came after what happened last night." She added, causing Ivan's brows to knit in confusion.

'Last night?' Ivan wondered, his gaze on Jimmy Feng whose face instantly went dark upon Zoey's last remarks.

"I won't be terrified by a petty threat, Miss Zhou."

"Oh no, Master Feng. I don't call that threatening," She paused, smiling as she slowly leaned forward. "I call that 'reminder'.." She corrected him.
