"How was your day~? Did you miss me~?" As she skipped her way towards his majesty, Zoey's eyes sparkled matching with a sweet smile on her lips.
Matthew just stared at her, wondering where the lady she had portrayed moments ago had disappeared off to now. 'That's a quick transition…' He muttered internally, his eyelashes fluttering ever so slowly.
"Hmm? Hmm?" Her eyes blinked many times, staring at his unmoving countenance as he was only looking at her. "What? You want to take me out on a date?" Without further ado, Zoey took advantage of his silence as she beamed him a smile.
"Then, let's go?" She added. Her words resounded across the entire desolate warehouse, making it bright and light if one only listened to her. However, the people in her back and the situation showed otherwise.
"Why did you bring him here?" Instead of answering her sweet advances, Matthew raised his gaze to Angelo before returning his eyes back to Zoey.
"Shh! Let's talk later, oki? Let's talk about how we love each other for now!" Yet, Zoey just winked at him and clung her arm around his arm. Without a second delay, Zoey dragged him with her out of the establishment.
Fortunately, Matthew didn't resist and let her drag him out, leaving everyone inside the warehouse. As they left, everyone's eyes were on their retreating back. Ivan's eyes twitched seeing the transition of his sister as he couldn't believe how quickly she recovered from being enraged to a sweet smitten lady.
"I'm actually thinking she has a loose screw in the head… or good at acting like she did." He sighed, whispering his words as he shook his head sideways.
On the other hand, Matthew's men, especially the three squad captains Carter, Ryan, and Owen, were utterly speechless. They knew Zoey was more than what meets the eye. However, what she had displayed just now, it sent chills down their spine.
"No wonder, the young master took an interest in her." Owen chuckled, shaking his head sideways because at this point, he got nothing against Zoey.
Well, in his perspective, having a goddess, a beauty queen as a lady boss, was alright. But if she's already pretty and capable, then much better. There wouldn't be much ladies — or rather, no one in the upper echelon who could handle Matthew. Someone like Zoey was perfect, as they wouldn't have to worry because she could defend herself with no one's protection. Owen realized that now, after witnessing her handle the situation.
"Assistant Qian, who is she, really?" Ryan muttered, watching Zoey and Matthew's shadow vanish as they left the room.
Paul just shrugged as an answer. "Master's woman." He said, carrying mixed emotions at what Zoey displayed. He was worried more than he was in awe. After all, Zoey just suddenly barged in Matthew's life and no one really knew what her intentions were.
"Them, as well." Carter then glanced at Ivan and then to Angelo. "Why are they still here?" He asked, moving his eyes back to Paul as Zoey just left them with them.
"Who knows?" Angelo responded, shrugging his shoulders as he trudged towards the man slowly. "What we know are our orders." He added, glancing at the man whose hand was pierced by a dagger.
"Orders?" Ryan knitted his brows, recalling that Zoey and Matthew didn't give them any orders before leaving. Zoey's last remarks were vague, but it was obvious she was letting the person go.
Obviously, Zoey's order contradicted Matthew's. After all, if they let this person go, he could harm Matthew in the future. There was no telling because if he did it once, he would definitely do it -- with or without his own will.
"Can we have him?" Angelo ignored Ryan and turned to Paul. The latter remained silent as if they were going to ask him, he would definitely not let the man go.
However, before Paul could make a decision, he received a notification from Matthew saying: "Let them handle it." Thus, without further ado, Paul raised his head back to Angelo. "He's yours." He said, placing his phone back in his pocket suit.
"I have to warn you, though. If this person comes to harm my boss, you'd have to bear responsibility." Stern as always, Paul warned as his eyes unwavering while staring straight at Angelo's eyes.
"Don't worry, he wouldn't." Angelo reassured, turning his eyes on the man. "He would be a goner for real the moment he thinks about it." He added, his countenance sharp as he suddenly pulled out the dagger.
"Ahh!!" The man screamed, feeling every bit of pain in his flesh as blood flowed out from his wound. Little did he know, it was just the beginning because next second, two of his fingers got cut out.
"Ahhhh!!!" The pain of his flesh ripping apart traveled to his every nerves, causing him to tremble as his shouts grew louder.
"There there. You'll be fine." Unfazed by the piercingly loud screams, Angelo held on the man's wrist tightly as he reached for the handkerchief Zoey used earlier and put pressure on his severed hand.
"They will take you to the nearest hospital." Angelo said, turning to the man as the latter inhaled sharply through his gritted teeth. "Take your family as far as you can. From now on, you're dead." He added, staring firmly at him as he nodded his head.
The man stared back, gritting his teeth as he nodded in great difficulty. "Remember, if he ever comes and finds you, you know who are your real allies." He heard Angelo speak once again as he let his hand go while the man held onto his severed hand with the handkerchief around it.
"We'll take this with us." Just then, Ivan took out a black handkerchief and picked up the fingers on the table. "Business is done here." He announced, raising his gaze to Paul and the rest of the people in the room.

"Let them handle it." After Matthew sent the message, he turned to Zoey who was sitting beside him in the back passenger seat. "Why would you let him go?" He asked, studying her side profile before she turned her head back to him.
"Darling, you don't make everyone your enemy." Slowly, the side of her lips curled into a subtle smile. She leaned closer to him, her eyelashes fluttered coquettishly. "Gaining friends from the enemy's side is also a strategy, you know." The tip of her finger tranced his arm, her eyes fixated on his russet orbs.
"Are you sure you'll seduce me right now?" Seeing her action, Matthew raised his right eyebrow as he noticed the enormous change in her behaviour.
"Why not? Not that I have a reason not to." She humored, smirking as the situation changed and the last straw of her holding back was not needed anymore. "Say, you said you wanted to date for real… I wonder if you can handle it, Mr. Xi Matthew.." Zoey inched closer, whispering in his ears before drawing back to see his reaction.
