Chapter 527 - My Future Bride’s Name Is Zhou Zoey, Mother.

The emotions glinting across his eyes were unwavering and his words were adamant. Matthew's words always bore weight on them, but he never talked about marriage or any other thing of the sort.

In retrospect, Vivian could only remember her son saying he didn't plan on marrying anyone. And then, Matthew would ignore anything regarding the topic; although he attended a few blind dates just for the heck of it.

"You mean her?" Vivian arched her right brow as she picked up a photo of Zoey. She then held it up and showed it to Matthew.

Matthew stared at Zoey's photo taken when she went in this building for the first time in this lifetime.

"Yes," He nodded languidly. "No one else."

Matthew uttered in utter seriousness despite his indifferent demeanor. He didn't avert his eyes away from his mother as he spoke his mind and heart.

Zoey would be his wife. Be it in the previous lifetime or the current one, Matthew didn't plan to change that fact. Not that he could change his heart's desire.

Zoey went through such pain after his death because of his recklessness. Still, she didn't run away from him and wanted to protect him at the cost of her life. Matthew wouldn't let that happen.

"Hah!" Vivian scoffed in disbelief as she couldn't believe her ears. "You want this lady to be my daughter-in-law? This Miss Ling?!"

Vivian added as her voice thundered. It was apparent that she was not satisfied despite hearing Matthew's determination. It only made her more upset because they didn't know Zoey that well. She just couldn't trust someone as shady as her!

Matthew remained silent for a while as he studied Vivian's displeased front. After seconds of contemplation, he finally spoke. "Zoey, Zhou Zoey is her name."

"She's not Miss Ling," Matthew uttered. "My future bride's name is Zhou Zoey, Mother."

He added in a tone full of resolve. Upon those words, slipping past his lips, the entire office fell into a stifling silence.

The people inside who could feel the thick air between the mother and son's aura could not help but swallow their own saliva. Butler Yi glanced at Matthew for a while before the side of his lips curled up a little.

In his eyes, Matthew seemed determined and somewhat handling it in a more mature way. He could only remember Matthew bickering with his mother about marriage but now he wanted to marry someone.

'He is like you, don't you see Madam Xi?' Butler Yi whispered internally as his mind wandered to the past. The time when Matthew wasn't born yet and Vivian's resolve to marry Matthew's father who was far from her status.

"Hmp!" Vivian let out a sharp exhale as she assisted herself up. "I don't like her and I know I wouldn't like her, ever! Just see what I'll do if you marry her without my blessing!"

Vivian threatened as she trudged out of the office. Matthew chuckled as his gaze followed his mother's figure who was stomping her way out of the office.

"Don't harass me to marry her." Matthew humored which hastened Vivian's pace.

"Never!" She shouted before leaving the office with Butler Yi and her bodyguards following behind her.

When everyone left, Matthew chuckled at his mother's last remarks. "Never?"

Matthew whispered as the side of his lips tilted into a smile. In his mind, Vivian would surely swallow her words when she met Zoey. After all, Zoey's personality was very much like Vivian's.

The reason they both hit it off in an instant. He could remember Vivian's support and how she rooted Zoey as her daughter-in-law. Both Zoey and Vivian's relationship often made Matthew wonder if he was the son of Vivian or was she Zoey's mother as his mother was biased towards Zoey.

"She will surely cry once she meets you." Matthew rested his jaw on the back of his jaw as he thought of Zoey.

Since Zoey had a tough childhood, she hadn't experienced any form of parental love from either of her parents. Only Vivian truly showed that to her. They filled each other's hole; Vivian having a daughter whom she would love dearly while Zoey having a mother who would show her that the world is not all black and white.

"Butler Yi, dig all the information about Zhou Zoey! I want everything as soon as possible!" Vivian ordered as she walked away from the office.

Zoey's name etched in her mind. The woman who bewitched her son! Vivian would surely teach her a lesson for Zoey to stay far away from her son.

"But Madam, the young master had surely closed all information about Miss Zhou if he told her name." Butler Yi answered politely as he knew Matthew and how he did things.

After all, he wouldn't let anyone dig information on someone if he didn't want to. Butler Yi was only being rational and not frustrate the Madam future.

"I don't care! Find anything about her and set an appointment with her." Vivian ground her teeth as she already knew that. Matthew was her son and he was very cunning. He wouldn't just give out her name so easily knowing Vivian's personality.

"I want to see this Zhou Zoey personally." Vivian added and Butler Yi could only abide by the Queen's order.

"Yes," Butler Yi answered and followed her tracks.

"Achoo!" Zoey rubbed her nose that was a little itchy.

"Are you okay?" Angelo asked as he placed the documents on her desk. He then turned his eyes towards the open window. "Why do you always leave the window open? Not that the view outside is something to behold."

Angelo walked towards the window and closed it. He then turned towards Zoey and shook his head lightly.

"No, I just feel a bad omen." Zoey muttered as she rubbed her shoulders.

"Bad omen? How bad?" Angelo inquired as he arched his right brow. "Do you think Inigo will make his move?"

"No, not that kind of omen." Zoey shook her head sideways as she pursed her lips in a thin line. "My palms are itching, meaning there's incoming money. Still, it makes me feel restless."

Zoey sighed heavily.. Little did she know, the omen that was coming in her way is something she didn't want to face currently.
