Chapter 576 - Vivian The Drama Queen II

"Madam? Madam?!" As soon as Vivian came out of the private hospital room, Butler Yi called out before hastily following the distressed Madam Xi.

"Madam? What happened? Are you alright?" When Vivian reached the end of the corridor, she held onto the hand railing of the stairs going down.

So dramatically, Vivian covered her lips by her hand as she wept without tears flowing from her eyes. Butler Yi tilted his head a little to the side, checking if Vivian finally snapped so they could avoid her going insane.

"Did something happen to Miss Zhou? Did she scold you?" Butler Yi asked, knowing that Vivian was actually a softie who would cry being scolded.

Thus, Vivian put up this strong front that no one would mess with her. Only Matthew knew how her mother was cowardly when she was being scolded. People wouldn't even believe their eyes if they witnessed how she sulked just by being scolded.

"Butler Yi, I'm a bad person." Slowly, Vivian dramatically turned to Butler Yi as the tears tempting to roll down on her cheek formed on the side of the corner of her eyes.

"Huh?"

"That girl… how can I not see her pure intentions? I'm blind and caused her harm." Through her gritted teeth, Vivian confided with Butler Yi and admitted that she wronged Zoey.

Vivian had been surrounded with deceitful people. Hence, she didn't want her son to get deceived in the name of love. She didn't want her son to experience the same thing as she did in the past.

Her fear of her son being in that situation blinded her. She didn't see that Zoey and Matthew were bound by love and nothing else. But now, Vivian finally saw the light in this relationship.

Zoey was a kind girl. Although Vivian sensed that a heavy burden was on Zoey's back, that didn't hinder her from being who she was right now. The reason Vivian felt utterly guilty for Zoey in spite of her son's warning.

Butler Yi sighed in frustration as he lowered his shoulders. "Madam, you only did what a mother would do to protect her child. I'm certain Miss Zhou understands that and doesn't hold a grudge against you."

Butler Yi comforted her with a subtle smile. It has been a while since he saw Vivian being this emotional little girl like she used to be. Vivian had been cold and intimidating for a long time.

Surely, she probably grew fond of Zoey. After all, it was not easy to get on Vivian's good grace if one hit her weakest and softest spot.

This only means Zoey was truly an awesome person. To tug Vivian's softest spot only meant Zoey was something else.

"But…"

"Madam, I know you feel responsible for Miss Zhou's wound. Don't you think it's only proper to apologize? It's the sincerest form of apology and if Miss Zhou is someone you think she is, she would accept it regardless." With the same gentle smile on his face, Butler Yi suggested knowingly.

Vivian bit her lower lip, glancing at the way back to the room reluctantly. "If sorry was ever enough, what's the use of the police?"

"Then, Madam can sue herself." Butler Yi humored as he shrugged his shoulders.

"I see…" Vivian nodded in understanding. "Contact our lawyers and prepare to press charges."

To Butler Yi's dismay, his joke was taken seriously. He nearly choked upon hearing the ridiculous orders he didn't expect hearing in his life servicing Vivian.

"Madam, I was just…"

"Madam Xi? Butler Yi?" Just before Butler Yi could finish his sentence, they heard Zoey's voice echoing from the corridor they came from.

"Oh!" Vivian snapped, wiping the nonexistent tears that didn't stain her cheek.

She cleared her throat, standing straight as she walked back gracefully.

"Yes?"

Vivian replied, walking towards Zoey before looking back and widened her eyes at Butler Yi's figure.

'My orders!'

Butler Yi read Vivian's lips which caused his under eye to twitch. Vivian then continued to approach Zoey and heard her utter words.

"Madam, can you even sue yourself?" Butler Yi muttered in disbelief, conflicted if he should do what he was told or just pretend he didn't hear Vivian ordering such a ridiculous command.

"Shouldn't you be resting, Miss Zhou?" When Vivian reached Zoey, she asked.

"Uh, but it's just a small wound. I don't think it's enough reason for me to stay admitted in the hospital." Zoey replied, sneaking a glance at Vivian's figure from head to toe.

Zoey raised her brows, blinking her eyes as it seemed Vivian's demeanor had changed a little. She couldn't feel the hostility from Vivian and Zoey was still baffled at Vivian's last remarks before she stormed away.

"Right…" Vivian nodded in understanding and then cleared her throat. "You can just stay in my humble place and recover there."

Vivian suggested without having second thoughts. Meanwhile, Zoey narrowed her brows and tilted her head to the side.

'Did I hear her right?' Zoey wondered internally.

"Yes, you heard me right. Your ears are not deceiving you." To Zoey's surprise, Vivian answered despite not saying her thoughts aloud.

"I can read your thoughts through your expression." Vivian explained seeing Zoey gasped and widened her eyes.

Zoey blinked her eyes many times, dumbfounded at how sharp Vivian was. No one could really underestimate Vivian's instincts and bearing ill-intention toward her and her son would be foiled immediately.

"Let's go. I will arrange a room for you and…"

"Um, I'm sorry, but I can't." Suddenly, Zoey spoke and politely shook her head.

"Huh?" Vivian arched her right brow. "Are you holding a grudge against me? I know what I've done is childish and immature. That's why I want to show my sincerity by taking care of you, Miss Zhou."

Vivian explained sternly, keeping her strong front that told Zoey she seems insincere. If Zoey didn't know Vivian, she would think Vivian's intention was something else.

"Zoey, Madam Xi. You can always call me by my first name once you're comfortable." Zoey corrected politely, the side of her lips curling into a gentle smile.

"I would never hold a grudge against Madam Xi. But, I need to come back home -- to my foster parent's house.." Zoey explained as it was time for her to handle this problem with Zachery herself to lessen the additional burden she bestowed on Matthew's shoulder.
