When Zoey and Enzo reached the VVIP section, she gasped in disbelief. The second Enzo opened the door, her eyes widened upon seeing the huge spacious room brimming with equally sleek modern women and men.
The loud bass of the music nearly deafened Zoey's ears along with the chattering's of the people. Unlike their private lounge, this was indeed a party.
"Kenneth Bai…" Through Zoey's gritted teeth, Zoey held back on beating Kenneth until he was unrecognizable.
After traveling her eyes around, Zoey's under eye twitched. Kenneth and her dearest brother were dancing along the crowd; both were highly intoxicated and Zoey couldn't recognize which damn soul had manifested in her brother's body that night for him to act this way.
"If I were you, I would have let them have fun and escape myself. You might not understand since you seem you know everything, but I do." While Zoey had her eyes full of disbelief cast onto her brother, Enzo commented from her side.
Slowly, Zoey retracted her eyes from Zion to Enzo's side profile. He only gave Zoey a side eye and said nothing further before he entered the VVIP lounge.
Zoey pursed her lips as she set her eyes on Zion's figure again. After a beat, she let out a heavy sigh.
"Of course, I understand him, fool." Zoey muttered and shook her head sideways. With that in mind, Zoey trudged inside and found herself a seat where she could see Zion.
Zion never truly enjoyed his youth. He had buried himself with work to satisfy his parents. Therefore, Zoey thought Kenneth's presence could at least make Zion forget the pain in his heart temporarily.
As Zoey was watching her brother, she heard Katherine's voice from somewhere. There, Katherine was already partying with everyone while drinking her wine.
"Damn… did she chug an entire bottle of wine before coming here? She was not this intoxicated earlier." Zoey mumbled, shaking her head as Katherine was truly something else.
At first, Zoey felt bored as she was the only one who seemed to not enjoy and share the same energy as everyone else. But eventually she got used to it and tried to enjoy her own company.
"Big sis!" Just as Zoey got used to enjoying herself in silence, Katherine approached.
Katherine swayed her way towards Zoey. With her high stilettos, it was commendable that she managed to reach Zoey's table without stumbling down.
Without further ado, Katherine plopped down beside Zoey. Zoey adjusted a little so there was more room for them.
"Big sis!" Trying to get a hold of herself, Katherine shook her head.
"If you're drunk, go home or book a room from the nearest hotel for yourself." Zoey advised indifferently.
Since Zoey was technically a thirty-year-old mature woman, she doesn't enjoy this as much as she enjoyed it in her previous life. A lot had happened and Zoey had more important problems to worry about.
"Big Sis!" Ignoring Zoey's advice, Katherine pounded her palm against her chest. "I nearly got abducted!"
'Ahh… gosh. She's too drunk.' Zoey sighed internally, feeling her head throb as people just won't leave her alone.
"I almost got abducted, big sis!" Still pounding her chest, Katherine repeated.
"En." Zoey nodded. "But, you're here, right?"
"Big Sis!" Katherine sniffed before she started sobbing. Her tears suddenly resurfaced from the corner of her eyes in a blink of an eye and she sobbed on Zoey's shoulder.
"Waah! I'm so scared!"
In between Katherine's sobs, she repeated how scared she was over and over again. Zoey exhaled helplessly, rolling her eyes as she patted Katherine's back.
"Huhuhu! I'm so scared! If not for Big Sis, I would have died! I never felt important because my family wouldn't even help me even if they know I'm stepping into my grave! My big sis is the only person who cares!"
Katherine expressed in between her sobs. She sounded as if the only person who didn't want to harm her was Zoey. Yet, Zoey only did it because she had conscience intact as a human.
"Don't make it sound like it's not a normal thing to do." Zoey helplessly muttered, shaking her head as she patted the crying Katherine on her shoulder.
Zoey didn't mind getting her blouse soaked with tears and all. All she wanted was for Katherine to stop crying and speaking too loud right in front of Zoey's ear. Zoey could hear her clearly even without her needing to yell!
"Big sis! Huhuhu!"
"Zoey!" As if life was not enough playing tricks on Zoey, she heard Kenneth call out to her.
Followed by Zion's voice, "My baby sister!"
"Lord, help me not to burn this place down right now." Under her breath, Zoey murmured as she watched the drunk Kenneth and Zion stumble on their way to her table.
"Zoey! You're a lucky lady to have such an amazing brother!" As soon as Kenneth reached the table, he exclaimed.
"Haha! No, my baby sister is lucky to have a friend like you!" Zion argued and they both laughed loudly.
Seeing them, Zoey was rendered speechless. Zoey knew she had committed mortal sins, but this punishment was too cruel!
"You two seem like you're having fun, huh?" Zoey said, shaking her head as the two settled around the table. It was a surprise that they haven't noticed, or rather, don't care about her at all.
Just when Zoey thought nothing could make things worse for her situation, she thought wrong. Thirty minutes after the two men joined the table, the three of them were crying!
"Why are you two crying? Did someone also want to kidnap you?" With her shaking voice, Katherine inquired.
Katherine was wiping her tears, her makeup smudged across her face and her mascara had messed her under eye with its black ink.
"You, crazy K, do you know how tough it is to be alone? With no one to love or anyone to make you feel loved? I've thrown this party to fill the void in my heart, but I am sad!" Kenneth stressed his last sentence, pounding his palm against his chest.
"That's why I'm crying! I feel so lonely and my crush wouldn't even look at me!"
Kenneth added before he chugged his drink. After drinking, he slammed his glass down and shook his head.
"I also want to fill a void in my heart…" Zion commented as he smiled bitterly.
When he raised his gaze, the three looked at each other and made a toast. Zoey shook her head as she could not help but think this party had way too quickly escalated to group counseling.
"How about you, big sis? What void do you want to fill?" After the three chugged down their drinks, they looked at her and Katherine asked.
"I hope you two had plans on how to get home tonight.." Exasperated, Zoey snatched the bottle of wine and gulped a mouthful of wine to ease her stress.
