Chapter 648 - They Took Two Of Your Toes, So What?

"Cecil?!"

Zoey was in disbelief. But when Cecil heard her and moved his gaze towards her, he was in a much greater shock.

His eyes went wide, slacked-jaw at the sight of this despicable woman. The woman who put him in this situation where everyone was hunting him down. Now, even his boss, Matthew, had summoned him!

Who knows? Matthew might also deliver him to hell because he screwed things over! No, that wasn't right. Zoey screwed his life!

"You!" Cecil yelled, grinding his teeth as his eyes glinted with killing intent.

"Don't worry about it, Jack." After a faint sigh, Matthew looked at Zoey.

"Do you remember him? Come and take a seat. You too Cecil. Stop humiliating yourself more."

Matthew commanded flatly. With that being said, Matthew sat on the cast iron chair. Cecil ground his teeth while glaring at Zoey before he assisted himself up to sit.

Meanwhile, Zoey walked cautiously. She dragged the chair near Matthew because Cecil seemed like he had already lost it.

The last time Zoey saw this person, he carried himself with elegance and was proud of himself. Even when he was acting as a mere assistant, he still stood out. But now, Cecil had fallen this low.

When the three settled on their seats, Matthew darted his eyes from Cecil to Zoey; he didn't speak a word, studying Cecil glare at Zoey while Zoey looked at him in disbelief.

"Man… you've fallen this low." Zoey muttered under her breath, as if inciting more anger from Cecil.

"Who did you think put me in this place, huh?! That damn container you stole and brought to my pier…!" In disbelief at Zoey's shameless remarks, Cecil ground his teeth as he yelled. If not for Matthew, Cecil would have already taken Zoey to her grave.

"Uh…" Raising her brows, Zoey cleared her throat and cast Matthew a look.

Matthew let out another faint sigh as he leaned back. After resting his leg over the other, he set his eyes on Cecil.

"That's why I called you here today." After his brief silence, Matthew broke the silence, catching Cecil's attention.

"The mafia who originally owned the container is here. It was initially stolen by their rival, and then, Zoey stole it from them." Matthew explained. However, before he could enlighten everything, Cecil ground his teeth.

"Then, why did she bring it to my place? Now, those damn mafioso and even the government... they all think I'm the one who terrorized their business and the government is investigating the pier! It's only a matter of time before they uncover my connections with it!

Out of overflowing emotion, Cecil spat in dismay. He had been in the business for almost his entire life. That's why he knew the rules.

Cecil had been very discreet. He didn't want to offend those lads because if he did, they would mess with him as well. Cecil didn't want that. He just wanted to do his business in peace -- at least, a bit of peace without a problem with those big bosses.

"Damn those mafioso… they -- they took two of my toes and would torture me if I don't return the container to them!"

Cecil added, in great distress as he clasped his hair with both his hands. Images of those menacing hazel eyes, glinting with nothing but pure evil as he watched him cut his toes flashed across Cecil's head.

That man… Cecil never felt such fear in the past. Only that man whom he met at Professor Meng's birthday celebration and ambushed him brought this kind of fear within him.

"They're the Silva Famiglia. A powerful mafia organization who indulged in violence. Don't let them get into your head." Matthew spoke, seeing how they traumatized this strong-willed demon named Cecil.

Matthew wouldn't need to be this thorough if it was eight years later. However, during this time, even though he already knew the people involved in his death, he couldn't take action without much thought.

After all, during this time, the Silva Family still stood at the top. Not to mention, Inigo's forces were still developing in numbers and didn't have many connections just yet.

In other words, fighting Nikolai in this lifetime was thrice as hard. Nikolai had mastered the ins and outs of this business, and fighting him fair and square was just courting death.

That's why… Matthew's eyes glinted as he smirked at Cecil.

"They're in my territory, Cecil. The Silva Family still has a problem with the triads -- you know your fellow businessmen."

Slowly, Cecil raised his head. His expression blank, processing Matthew's words.

"I've known about the container. I was the one who leaked the information to them. That's why they're here." Matthew continued.

"What…"

"Now, they can't leave the country even if they want to." Matthew uttered, casting Cecil a knowing look.

"They took two of your toes? Why would you break down on just losing a few toes? Jack… I've granted protection to your business because you're a man of character."

"Master…" Under his breath, Cecil blinked his eyes at Matthew. "What are you… why did you…"

"If they want to give you hell, drag them with you. That's the type of Cecil I've known. Or, do I have to find a new Jack?" Matthew tilted his head, nonchalant whether he would lose Cecil.

"But --"

"I'll offer you help, Jack." Matthew offered as he leaned forward, his elbows on his knees while his fingers resting against each other.

"Get your revenge and keep them at bay for me." Without breaking his gaze away from Cecil, Matthew tempted.

When Cecil processed Matthew's words, life slowly resurfaced in his eyes. The corner of his lips slowly stretched into a wicked grin.

A help from the King? Well, what's there to be afraid about? If Matthew was able to block their enemy's exits, there's nothing to be afraid of.

"Haha!" Cecil laughed under his breath. "Hahaha!" And it continued to grow as he clapped his hands.

Meanwhile, Zoey furrowed her brows as she studied Matthew's side profile. 'Darling, why does it seem like you've been planning to take down Niko instead of Inigo?'
