Chapter 171 - You Already Gave Me Hell

"Bitch. If only you are a bit more grateful, it will not turn out like this."

Julian started the engine with his eyes glinting menacingly. It was as though he didn't plan to get away... alive, at least.

"I will drag you all down to hell. I'm very sure that person will exercise his power..." he slowly cocked his head to the front passenger seat where Devon was at. "... because of you. Funny, heh."

When Julian peeled his eyes away from her, the wheels screeched as he sped away outside the establishment. It was all peaceful until he reached the entrance and exit of the parking space above ground. He had to stop, flashing lights at the barricade of cars and authorities to stop him.

"See, Kas? You don't also know Qin Lewis that much. Just look at this power he is showing! Not only did he employ his people, but also the authorities! That's why they say if you want to have a strong political ground, once should lick Qin Lewis's shoes." Julian chuckled while glancing at her, unfazed by this obstacle ahead. "I am the head of his legal team, so I've witnessed things you will not believe, my dear sister."

Instead, Julian had the luxury to lean closer to her and drape an arm over her seat. He moved her chin up, so the two of them could see what was ahead — even though she was unconscious.

"You don't have any idea that Devil is feeding you with nothing but lies. I'm really saving you from that kind of man, sister." He chuckled as he listened to the warnings spoke through the megaphone, resting his head against hers. "Don't worry, though. Even if they shoot, this car is bulletproof. Also, you're inside. They won't open fire knowing they might miss and kill you! Hahahaa!"

Julian idled as he laughed maniacally, not caring at the people aiming at their car. No one could intimidate him anymore. Even if they plan to shoot his tires, he would stop at nothing.

"He must be seething in anger... Derek wouldn't calm that sick man so easily. Heh." He chuckled while playing with the headlights, creating a soothing beat. "Ah, right..."

Before he could drive, Julian turned on the radio and even searched for music. He was confident that he had all the time in the world. Also, even if he was cornered, the longer Lewis wait for his beloved Devon to get rescued, the more the anxiety would kill him.

He changed the stations of the radio until he decided to play his playlist. After tapping several 'next', Julian finally nodded in satisfaction. He compassed his hand, closing his eyes while leaning back as he listened to the Merry-Go-Round of Life playing.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" he slowly opened his eyes, getting blinded by the lights flashing at them. The side of his lips curled up into a sinister smirk as he leaned forward. His hands caressed the steering wheel, tapping his fingers along with the music.

"Let's go."

Julian finally stepped on the pedal without a care in the world and crash against one of the cars. As soon as he did, the lights that were blinding him reduced. Some people within the vicinity of his ride had to jump away, but that didn't stop him.

He drove in reverse, only to speed forward and crash once again. He didn't even check the impact that was affecting her as he had buckled her safely. His action continued until he heard a shot from outside that came muffled to his ear.

The car slanted as someone fired on the tire, but his action continued. Reverse and crash, forcing his way through the cars in front of him. He could even see the damages on those two poor cars.

"Are they not thinking? If they stop me now, I will just shoot her," He grumbled and fished his phone out, speed-dialing Lewis. It was answered just before the first ring could end.

"Julian, stop this madness now."

"Oh, brother! If you plan to shoot all my tires, I'll shoot her head before your people can reach our car!" Julian complained indifferently, rolling his eyes as this was the stupidest thing Lewis would ever do. "If you want her so, so, so, bad... then, you just have to ask! Although... I can't assure you if I will give her back alive."

The corner of Julian's lips stretched broader as he gazed at Devon. He sprawled his arms towards her and brushed her hair.

"My poor sister... doesn't have any idea how she will die." He clicked his tongue in disappointment.

Surely, someone like him, who had nothing to lose anymore, was the most dreadful to deal with. Lewis felt helpless hearing Julian's warning, as he knew his brother would do it. Julian had reached this far and there was no stopping this.

If they shoot all the tires of his car, it would force Julian to blow her head off instead of watching them take her away from him. Just the thought of it rattled Lewis to the core.

"Julian," Lewis gripped his phone tightly, looking at the car from the side with a pistol in his hand. "I will drag you to the pits of hell if you get out of there alive."

"Pfft--!" Julian snickered as he retrieved his hand. For some reason, he narrowed his eyes and gazed at the window on his side. His smirk grew sinister seeing Lewis standing not far away with a pistol in his hand.

"You already gave me hell, Qin Lewis. Why I am like this... it's your fault, is it not?" he enjoyed the vacant expression that plastered on Lewis's countenance. "I will take your woman and make you, Qin Lewis, suffer all your life. I will give you hell... just like what you did to me."

Julian's smirk remained as he ended the line. He stared at Lewis' figure and indulged himself at the sight of him for a moment.

"This is a smart move, but you forgot I don't care if we live or die." He breathed out, driving in reversed as he waited for people to make way for him. "It's just that, I prefer keeping her alive for a long, long time so she... no, so you will suffer for a long, long, long time, Qin Lewis. And I get to keep my sister. That's hitting two birds with one stone."

Under Lewis' orders, some people had to move one car so as to give Julian a way for an exit. Seeing this pleased Julian as he gazed at Devon.

"See? It's so easy to deal with them, sister. I'll just have to scare them a little, and they will do everything I ask!" He chuckled while shaking his head. As if to spite them, Julian drove ever so slowly while taking the path they provided him. Despite the deflated tire, he just drove past the barricade with ease.

"Oh, goodness... this is so boring."

Julian cleared his throat as he continued to drive with ease. Although there were cars following him, he didn't care.

"Should I call him again and tell him to stop following us?" he wondered but shrugged nonchalantly. "Whatever. Having him watch us speed away and can't do anything about it is the best. Ah... I want to see his face."

He glanced at the rear mirror to see the deflated tire. He couldn't go at full speed with this, he thought. But he didn't think much about it, as he could just use Devon as a hostage. Lewis would do anything just so he wouldn't harm Devon.

"I'm jealous," he muttered at the thought of another man showering her with affection. While she only saw him as the villain.

"You should really appreciate my effort, Kas. I'm getting more and more annoyed being trapped with just my thoughts."

There was silence in the car with his constant comments every once in a while. Shortly, Devon let out a grunt as she weakly opened her eyes. She blinked and looked around, seeing some flashing lights. Her eyes instinctively moved to the driver's seat.

The sight of Julian's side profile frozen her in place as the memories before she was knocked unconscious surged in her head. Devon instantly remembered their situation, panicking as she gazed at the window.

"Sister, just tell me you honestly love me and I will end this." His dead voice sent an instant chill down her spine, making her gaze back at him with horror in her eyes. "I mean, surely, he isn't that important, right? Why would you choose another person when you have me? The person who treasures you the most?"

Julian gazed at her terrified and pale complexion. "Make sense, right?"

"Ken... where are you taking me?" she inquired, enduring the scratching pain in her throat from all the screaming earlier.

"Hmm... to my place, maybe? He shot the tire —— that lucky bastard. I need to change cars... it's so fucking boring to drive this way." Julian clicked his tongue in irritation. Driving so slowly when he wanted to drive at full speed was getting into him.

Devon held her breath and looked back, only to see the blinding headlights behind them.

"Right. That bastard is hot on our tail. Should I drive in reverse and crash into them?" Julian inquired and waited for her to look back at him. "It'll be fun. Don't you think?"

She didn't speak and just stared at him blankly. All she could see in his eyes was... emptiness, and that scared her more than death. This was the eyes of someone who wanted nothing but destruction. Someone who had lived to destroy others and bring misery.

"What's with that look again, sister?" he asked, but she didn't answer. "I'm asking you. Why are you looking at me like that again?"

Julian's brows furrowed in displeasure. Before he could even think, he had already raised his arm and slapped her with the back of his hand.

Her eyes slowly dilated as her pupils constricted, holding her cheek where he slapped her. She didn't know whether she was already used to him hitting her, that it didn't surprise her anymore. Instead, Devon's eyes dimmed as she looked back at him once again.

"Ungrateful --" Before Julian could finish his sentence, Devon lurched at the steering wheel while screaming mindlessly. "Hey! You!"

Julian yelled as their car went from each lane to lane. He tried to take control, but her screaming as if she had lost her mind grew louder.

"You little!" He ground his teeth and bit her shoulder without restraint.

"Let me go!! Aahhh!!!!" Devon screamed, but not from the pain, but from the nightmare, she was trapped in. She doesn't even know how dangerous it was, as her mind just went blank.

"I said --" Julian's eyes snapped when he looked ahead. All he had seen was the blinding light ahead and the loud honking of the truck.

CRASH!
