Chapter 80 - Stop Sabotaging Yourself!

Devon clicked her tongue as she trudged towards the couch and sat her butt down beside Dion.

"You're over-reacting," she commented as Dion was such a drama king. Although Devon was embarrassed to wear a maid costume at first, it instantly faded away, with Ghost Lin being happy. Also, it was not like it was truly that bad.

Dion was still covering his eyes and yelled, "Sis, you don't know the 'over-reacting' you're talking about!"

"Why?" she asked, staring at his shuddering back. "I don't think your brother will really kill you."

"Sis, really…" Dion sighed helplessly. Of course, Lewis wouldn't literally kill him, but it was not like life was the only thing that Lewis could kill; he could kill Dion's spirit!

Devon stared at him momentarily, pursing her lips as she pondered.

"Is your big brother a bad person? You look terrified," she said, as this type of reaction was not normal for her. Devon didn't have any fear of Lewis, so she was wondering how different Lewis was to other people.

Dion snapped with her question as he abruptly turned his head back saying, "Who wouldn't get scared if —" but his tongue suddenly rolled back as he covered his mouth.

Devon arched a brow. "What? Did I see your brother in a wrong light?" she asked, as Dion nearly had a slip of the tongue.

"Sis." Dion raised his hand to shield his eyes.

Devon frowned. "You're making me feel unpleasant."

'Is big bro an M? Sister-in-law is a bit bossy. I wonder how big bro fell with a bang.' Dion thought internally.

Dion gnashed his teeth as he reluctantly faced her. "Sis, you look really cute."

"But your face says otherwise." Devon tilted her head, scaring Dion as she unknowingly sported an adorable, clueless expression.

"It's because you're really cute I can't believe such a beautiful existence exists!"

"Wow… he's an expert in bootlicking." Ghost Lin slowly clapped as Dion was smart. From the very beginning, Dion already sided with Devon as if he immediately knew his chances of survival were higher if he remained on Devon's side.

"Ah!" Dion clapped his hands, gradually recovering the more he looked at Devon in a maid costume. "I think I know what to do," he said, picking up his phone while Devon watched him.

"Do, what?" she asked, cocking her head to the side when Dion raised his phone up.

"Sis!" Dion grinned, wiggling his brows. "Smile for me." He requested, tossing her into a pool of confusion.

"Smile? For you?" Devon arched her brows higher. "Why would I smile for you for no reason?"

"Ey…" Dion sighed helplessly. "I will send it to my big brother so he feels better!"

That's right! Dion could have a lesser sentence for seeing Devon in this attire first before Lewis did if he sent it to him. Maybe, he could add some mushy message as well.

"Come on. Just do a pose." Dion urged, but Devon only pouted and looked down. He blinked and clicked capture, as that looked way better than an intentional pose.

"Alright," Devon agreed with a nod, smiling awkwardly.

Dion's under-eye twitched. 'Good thing I clicked before this,' he thought internally but kept his thoughts internally.

"Hehe. It's alright now, sis." He chuckled awkwardly before shifting his attention to his phone.

Out of curiosity, Devon moved closer to him and took a peek at herself.

"Was that me?" she asked as the photo turn out… cute.

"Yes!" Dion exclaimed, and turned to her. Devon recoiled at his enthusiasm.

"Sis, don't you want to become a model?" he asked, gazing at Devon from head to toe. "Honestly, now that I look at you, you can become an internet star!"

"Of course, I can be popular with my looks!" Ghost Lin rolled her eyes, overly confident with her physical appearance. "I'd be popular if I wanted to, duh?"

"What is… internet star?" Devon squinted his eyes as her brows knitted together.

"Like an internet celebrity!" Dion explained, but her expression didn't change. "Errr. Become popular?"

"I don't need fame." Devon frowned.

Dion pouted as he somewhat expected that response. Considering the entertainment industry, they would surely notice Devon's popularity if she became an internet star, and would surely corrupt her innocence.

"Well, that's right. I might as well ask the world to collapse," He murmured, as Lewis would destroy many people's careers if worse comes to worst.

"Anyway, are we heading out?" Devon inquired as she remembered Dion asking her to go out. "I do not mind going on an adventure."

Dion stopped typing on his phone and gazed up. "I had to drop by to the studio first. Do you want to come?"

"Studio?"

"My workplace," Dion answered. "It'll be quick."

"Hmmm." Devon pondered for a moment and unconsciously glanced at Ghost Lin. The latter shrugged, giving all the decisions to her.

"Alright." Devon nodded as she didn't mind accompanying Dion since he had been babysitting her. "I'll go get changed."

"Alright." Dion raised a thumbs up and watched Devon stand up and went back to her room.

"It won't be a bad idea, right?" Dion murmured to himself, thinking that taking Devon with him would be helpful for her to meet more people.

He nodded when he successfully convinced himself that nothing bad would happen. Little did he know, this plan of his would bring good and bad things for the two of them.

"Hehe…" Dion chuckled as he shifted his attention to his phone. He pondered on what message he should give Lewis.

"He'll probably see it later, so it's fine, right?" Dion muttered, and his thumb tapped continuously on the screen.

[To : Big Brother Lu

Big bro! What did you do to my sister-in-law? I came early, and she's very sad! I thought you two made up? How come I came and see her looking like this? >.< Please stop sabotaging yourself and your future! I will take her out and we'll drop by in the studio to cheer her up, oki?

PS. She won't come with me in this costume. ]

Dion grinned as he pressed send. To his surprise, the message immediately tagged as read, making his eyes dilated in shock.

"Isn't he in a meeting right now?!" Dion gasped in disbelief.
