Chapter 84 - Dainasty Entertainment : Mike Huang

To a place where many famous artists come and go, Dion and Devon's undeniable strong aura as they entered the premises of Dainasty Entertainment still caught a lot of attention. Dion's presence was one thing, but the unfamiliar female walking beside him was what piqued the interest of the many.

"Sis, aren't you uncomfortable?" Dion leaned to her side as he could feel everyone's gaze. Considering he was famous, he was already used to it, but this overwhelming attention should make her a little… self-conscious.

Devon arched a brow. "Why should I feel uncomfortable?"

Dion studied her for a moment and let out an awkward chuckle. Based on her tone and demeanor, he could tell this wouldn't faze her. He didn't know whether it was because of her ignorance, or she just didn't care entirely; it could also be because she was used to it, which he doubted.

"Nothing." He shook his head as he took the lead and explained, "I just thought you might feel overwhelmed by the attention."

"Attention…" Devon nodded ever so slowly but didn't respond.

If that was what he was worried about, there was no need. Devon was already used to receiving unwanted attention, so she already mastered the art of not paying attention to any of them.

They stopped and turned around when someone called Dion from behind. "Dion! Bro!"

"Oh, Mike! My man!" Dion raised his hand before swinging it to grab Mike's hand. "It's good to see you again, eh?!"

"Wah... Bro, are you making a comeback?" Mike's eyes brimmed with excitement as Dion was one of the artists he respected, despite debuting around the same year.

Dion let Mike's hand go and shrugged. "Not sure. I'm a bit busy."

"Busy? You've been on hiatus for what? Two years?" Mike furrowed his brows before catching the figure standing not far away from behind Dion. "Ohh… I see. You're busy."

"Aish!" Dion clicked his tongue in annoyance, figuring out that his colleague misunderstood something. "It's not what you think."

"Okay, I'm not thinking anything, anyway." Mike's reply came out of his nose, obviously not buying it.

"I'll introduce you." Dion cleared his throat as he turned his head back to Devon. The natural aura she exuded made her appear unapproachable, as if it was telling others that no one could or should touch her.

"Sis." Dion crooked a finger, and she took just two steps before cocking her head to the side. 'Damn… I just told her about today's concept and she's really in-character.'

Dion snapped out of his thoughts when Mike elbowed him, anticipating the introduction.

"Sis, this is Mike, my colleague." Dion introduced with his hand, moving it to Mike then it moved towards Devon. "Mike, this is my sister, Lin Devon."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Lin. My surname is Huang, Mike Huang." Mike bowed politely before raising his head.

"Just smile and bow slightly. You're a Queen, remember?" Ghost Lin whispered in Devon's ears, so the latter did as instructed.

"The honor is mine, Mister Huang."

"Woah…" Mike gazed at her, stunned at her regal demeanor and pristine voice. "I'll be happy if you just call me Mike, your highness."

Mike winced when Dion suddenly elbowed him. He glanced at Dion, holding his side, only to receive a warning.

"She's off-limits," Dion warned, being over-protective of Devon, as the Devil backing her would set the world on fire if he didn't.

'Wow… love over friendship. I never felt so betrayed!' Mike grumbled internally but didn't speak about it in front of Devon.

"So, where are you two heading?" asked Mike, diverting the subject before things could go awkward.

"Ahh… just going to have a quick talk with the boss about my contract," Dion answered in a nonchalant tone.

"Oh, right? Your contract is ending." Mike nodded in understanding and the three of them continued their talk while they walk.

Devon walked behind the two men as they conversed, looking around the luxurious interior of the building. When the two men stopped, Dion approached her.

"Sis, Mike will show you around, alright? I'll just talk to my boss real quick!"

"Mhmm. Take your time." She nodded, and Dion nodded before casting Mike a look.

"Watch where your hand touch," Dion warned, raising his two fingers up, pointing it at his eyes and then at Mike. "Or you're dead."

"En. I don't break the bro code." Mike clicked his tongue as he waved his hand.

Dion wanted to correct him, but he thought there was a lot of time to do that later. So, in the end, Dion entrusted Devon to his friend Mike, which he truly trusted.

Mike faced Devon and smiled brightly. "Miss Lin, shall I tour you around the building?"

"I heard the food in the cafeteria is superb!" Ghost Lin floated excitedly. "Let's try that!"

"Alright, I'll be in your care, then." Devon offered a meek smile and followed Mike, but kept a safe distance from him while Ghost Lin passed through from walls to walls, just like a real ghost.

Mike toured her around from studios to studios like a professional tour guide. Devon only peeked at the people inside who were practicing and barely talked. Fortunately, her short responses didn't faze Mike as he kept the atmosphere between them light.

"And this is the cafeteria," Mike said proudly as the two of them entered the cafeteria.

There were only a few staff and artists eating inside, so there were plenty of tables and space. Mike led her to a comfortable spot, but Devon stopped when she heard someone call her name.

"Devon?"

Devon raised a brow as she slowly turned to her side, facing a woman squarely. She cocked her head to the side, her eyes behind her cat-eye glasses scanned the area, only to see Ghost Lin not around.

"Oh, you!" Mike exclaimed and smiled with a slight bow, concealing the fact that he forgot her name.

"Hello, Senior Huang." The woman bowed much lower at Mike before setting her eyes back to Devon. "It's really you! It's so nice to…" she trailed off when Devon suddenly stepped back to avoid her hug.

"Dev, don't you remember me? It's me, Avah! We're classmates in middle school.." Avah raised her brows, smiling awkwardly to conceal the embarrassment and irritation in her eyes.
