"Ahh… I want to misunderstand." Lewis scratched his temple, raising his gaze to the very few people still inside who were coughing. They hastened their movements when they sensed Lewis'
"What's there to misunderstand?" she furrowed her brows and bats her eyes cluelessly. "I told you last night, I prefer your company than anyone."
Devon then cleared her throat as she added, "And the ghost too."
'She will be the death of me,' He whispered internally, letting out a shallow sigh.
"I will ditch my work if you keep saying that," Lewis expressed and clicked his tongue.
A playful smile resurfaced on her lips. "My orders online arrived today. Do you want to see them? I bought a lot of costumes."
"You…" His eyes narrowed as Devon was getting cheekier by the day.
Devon giggled, biting her lower lip as talking to him was always a fun time. It would also be nice if he just stayed beside her, but as he said, many people relied on him.
"I thought I will eventually get used to your absence, but I do not think that is possible," she mumbled, almost complaining. "However, I can't be selfish and ask you to sacrifice what you had built."
"I didn't build anything," Lewis replied, and Derek just came to hear Devon's last remarks and Lewis's immediate reply. Derek approached Lewis from the side, handing out the earpiece his boss' asked him for.
"You can't cancel your schedule today, sir." Derek reminded in a low tone, knowing that Lewis was about to tell him to cancel everything so he could rush to Devon.
Surely, Lewis had lost all his senses, and he had thrown his reasonings out of the window ever since Devon had amnesia. This worried Derek, obviously. Not just after the events that just transpired this morning, but once Devon retrieved her memories. What would Lewis do if she returned to being cold just like before?
"Don't say that," Devon murmured, unconsciously playing with her hair.
His response was urging her to ask him to just accompany her. They could just spend another day just watching dramas. She didn't mind. Lewis had the same thought and was content with it if that was the plan.
"Sir, why don't you ask Miss Lin to join you for lunch instead?" Derek chimed in, suggesting an idea since the two seemed they would die if they were separated for too long. Also, this would be a good idea to keep Lewis' mind focus.
As expected, Lewis' eyes brightened up, as if someone finally discovered the cure for all diseases in the world.
"Do you want to have lunch together?" he asked her almost immediately, and Devon excitedly nodded.
"Yes!"
Derek let out a shallow sigh, as these two were totally hopeless. How could this be called being friends?! Weren't the two of them just toeing the line?

Devon and Lewis conversed about just anything for the next fifteen minutes and a staring competition for another fifteen minutes. Lewis only reluctantly hanged up when it was really time to go and Dion was throwing a huge fit outside Devon's room.
"Sis, aren't you really my big brother's girlfriend?" Dion asked grumpily, glancing at the front passenger seat where Devon was sitting.
Devon faced him squarely. "I am his girl friend."
Confusion surged inside Dion's head as he furrowed his brows, darting his eyes from the road to her. He didn't know what kind of misunderstanding he was stepping into, as he was certain Lewis and Devon weren't in a romantic relationship.
"I do not understand why you seem confused." Devon arched a brow, studying his conflicted reaction. "Is the title 'girl friend' has unhappy connotations I do not know of?"
"Of course, not!" Dion shook his head aggressively as he set his eyes ahead. "You are my big brother's girlfriend! The special kind of girlfriend where you stay together forever!"
"Well, I do not mind staying with my friend for a long time."
Dion let out a sigh of relief. He didn't know whether it was a good idea to tell her what it meant or just let it be, so he better not touch that, since Lewis didn't seem to bother and was already aware of it.
"Sis." He cleared his throat, deciding to pry about Devon's feelings towards Lewis to get a better understanding of this complicated situation. "What will you feel if you see my big brother with another woman?"
Devon glanced at him before staring ahead. "Do I have to feel anything?"
"Of course!" Dion exclaimed in disbelief at her nonchalance.
"They were just together. It was not like I am the only woman in this world my friend can interact with."
"I mean, my brother being in a romantic relationship with another woman!"
"I'll be happy for him," she said, sneaking a glance at Dion's side profile before staring at the road. "If my friend found someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with, my feelings do not matter." Her eyes softened as she weakly smiled.
Devon had thought about it the night Lewis asked her about being lucky. Deep down, there was this bitterness that pricked her heart at the thought of Lewis marrying someone else. But that didn't mean she wanted to be that person. It was a strange feeling she had felt that time and also right now.
"What? Are you a martyr?" Dion's nose scrunched up.
"Martyr?" Devon raised a brow as their ride entered a building, and Dion slowed down. "I am not. I merely want your big brother's happiness."
Dion turned his head back, driving slowly until he parked the car. He then faced her squarely.
"How about your own happiness?" he asked, curious about what was going on inside her mind. It was rare for him to meet people who could give way to others.
Devon pursed her lips as she leaned back comfortably. "If my happiness will only hurt him, I'd rather be in pain alone."
"Wow…" Dion awed, staring at her side profile with eyes brimming with respect. "Sis! I think I just had an inspiration for my next song!" the corner of his lips stretched from ear to ear.
Devon pressed her lips in a thin line as she faced him, seeing the strange, determined expression on his face. When Dion bat his eyes, he snapped a finger as he fumbled his hands around, searching for something.
"Here!" Dion took out a pair of sunglasses and shoved them at her. Although confused, Devon accepted the black cat-eye sunglasses.
"Wear it!"
"Huh?"
Dion took out his retro glasses with red lenses and grinned. "Today's concept is baddies." He showed her how to wear it, which she did.
"These aviators are strange," she commented, adjusting the glasses.
"Sis, tie your hair up!" Dion requested, pointing at the hairband around her wrist.
"What are these sudden requests?" Devon asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously while removing the hairband out of her wrist.
Dion sported a smug grin. "I told you, today's concept is being baddies. Your outfit is already good. Just tie your hair like that messy one then that sunglasses."
Devon glanced at the back seat. Ghost Lin was giving her two thumbs up. So, she followed Dion's instructions and soon finished what he asked her to do.
"Great!" Dion clapped, gazing at her over the glasses. "Let's go!" he exclaimed before hitching outside, jogging around the car to open the door for her highness.
When Devon hitched outside, she cast him a look. Dion chuckled, as he could not help but be proud of himself for having good eyes for potential stars.
"Sis, you're a natural, do you know that?" Gazing at her from head to toe, feeling that dominant, alpha-female aura she exuded.
Devon frowned, as she didn't have an idea of what he was talking about.. They didn't stay long as the two of them walked inside the building as if the two of them were in a runway fashion show.
