Chapter 90 - The Real Problem

"… even if that was the devil himself," Dion murmured to himself as he watched Devon and Lewis from the corner table. "Does that mean she already knows Ge's feelings?"

Dion felt like he had reached a dead-end in this entire 'best wingman' ordeal. He had believed Devon was as innocent as a child because she couldn't pick up Lewis' flirting. However, after their brief talk today, he believed that wasn't the case.

Devon knew, and she wasn't that clueless as they thought she was. She merely tried not to make a huge deal out of Lewis' actions, as she had been clear that she didn't want to get tangled in a romantic relationship just yet. But she already considered the possibility that she MIGHT date Lewis romantically.

"I think… no, I'm sure..." Dion trailed off as he closed his eyes, sucking air through his gritted teeth as he finally figured out the problem. "… the problem is not my sister-in-law."

When Dion opened his eyes, his gaze immediately landed on Lewis. He smacked his lips as he had to scratch everything and start from the beginning.

"Everything is wrong from the start." Dion nodded, agreeing with his own claim. "It's not that Ge didn't appeal to sister-in-law, my sis is not the dense one!"

He suppressed his boiling emotion at this discovery. If Dion didn't actively probe about Devon's feelings and thoughts, he would blindly believe she friend-zoned Lewis just because she never noticed Lewis. It turned out Devon friend-zoned Lewis because she was not ready yet, and she didn't want to make him wait.

"Ughh..!" Dion groaned in frustration as he took his phone out. "This is a much bigger problem than I thought."

He angrily created a new chat group and added Kai and Rio as he typed:

Brothers! A problem arises! Come quick! ]

Dion let out a deep sigh when his brothers didn't reply immediately. Understandable since his brothers were busy during this time of the day.

"This is frustrating," He grumbled in distress. In his point of view, making Lewis appeal to Devon was easier than bringing Lewis out of his comfort zone.

"I already said he should be proactive. How can he seduce her and then shoo her away?" Dion clicked his tongue continuously, setting his eyes towards Devon and Lewis' table. "No wonder my sis kicked him. I don't think there is another living soul who can do that. Even Grandpa couldn't do that."

Dion sighed heavily and shook his head. Thinking about that only proved that Devon and Lewis MUST get married. That wedding must happen!

"If he kept circling around her as her friend, she will eventually get used to it, and taking him out of the role of being the 'friend', will be impossible," Dion mumbled as he crossed his arms, nodding as he studied the two lovey-dovey. "He even rent the entire restaurant just for a lunch. This is not a blind date, but I will win if we put a bet on this one."

The betting between the brothers would surely take an enormous turn. Instead of how fast the date would end, they would have to bet how long would it last.

While Dion was studying the two, Ghost Lin stared at him, who was sitting across from him, cupping her cheek.

"Damn… I hope he can see ghost so I can tell him what to do." Ghost Lin shook her head as she rooted for Devon and Lewis from the start. "For a bird to fly, it needs two wings. How can your brother fly with only one wing?"

She let out a sigh, as she had figured about this problem just after studying Devon. She was also puzzled at first but looking at it, Devon was only open to Lewis, but the latter was just too… frustrating.

"If this fourth Qin is smart, he will find out what I'm thinking," she mumbled and gazed at Dion with disappointment flickering across her eyes. "You need to force Timid Qin to go all out, you know? I already bought her a lot of costumes. Just don't fall for her yourself and dig your own grave."

Ghost Lin raised a brow as she glanced at her hand. She tapped her fingers against the table, clicking her tongue.

"I'm fading already?" she muttered, as she had been noticing it every day. "At the end of being a ghost, it's still useless."

She let out a sigh as tilted her head back, mulling over something. Ghost Lin had been lingering in the world of the living and hadn't done a thing but stick with Devon. If only she knew she would end up liking Devon, she would've prepared about everything, but that was impossible to know, right?

Ghost Lin took a deep breath as she pulled her head back. "Should I divert her attention from stubborn Qin first? Wait. Why am I thinking that she needs to help me with my last wish when I didn't plan about it initially?"

She clicked her tongue as Devon's words of wanting to help her registered in her mind. Now, Ghost Lin was subconsciously thinking of Devon's help but shook her head to shrug that thought off.

"Whatever." Ghost Lin shook her head and then floated towards Devon and Lewis.

"Are you alright, my friend?" Devon asked as Lewis' face was a little pinkish. "Do you have a fever?"

Devon raised her hand and extended it to feel his forehead. However, Lewis drew his head back, avoiding her touch.

"I am alright," Lewis reassured and cleared his throat. "You should eat more."

"But you're barely eating." Devon frowned as she noticed that Lewis still felt that he was distancing himself. Strange, she thought, because Lewis was alright earlier during the video call.

Devon then moved her gaze towards Ghost Lin and cocked her head to the side. Ghost Lin stood on the side of the table, darting her head from her to Lewis.

"I got to go somewhere. Enjoy Hip-hop Qin's company later and don't mind this guy. If you really want to make him feel better, just call him baby." Ghost Lin bluntly advised, as her eyes fell on Devon. The latter blinked her eyes, wondering if it was alright to speak with Ghost Lin in front of Lewis.

"Where are you looking at?" Lewis asked with furrowed brows.

"My ghost friend."

Ghost Lin and Lewis furrowed their brows even more, as the former didn't expect that. What surprised her, even more, was Lewis' accepting attitude about it.

"Tell her I say, hi," Lewis said and Devon nodded.

"She can hear you." Devon glanced up at Ghost Lin, who sported this disgusted expression. "But I don't think she is that happy."

"It's not that I'm not happy. This guy just seriously makes me speechless." Ghost Lin mumbled before adding, "anyway, I have to go. I will be back tomorrow."

Before Devon could respond, Ghost Lin looked up and jumped through the ceiling.
