"Do you want me to prove that?"
Lewis's mind instantly short-circuited and went into a blank state. Devon furrowed her brows as she slowly drew her head back.
"My friend?" she called, tapping his shoulder lightly, but he didn't answer. "Lewis?"
Her light tapping gradually became stronger until she shook him back to his trance. Only after shaking him violently, Lewis' eyes snapped.
His eyes searched for her shaking eyes. "Did you…"
Lewis trailed off as he tried to recall what just happened. In his fresh memory, Devon kissed him, but he couldn't feel the warmth of her lips on his as he had numbed instantly.
"Are you alright?" Devon asked worriedly, as she didn't know this would be the effect on him!
He nodded his head slightly. "I was spacing out, I'm sorry."
"You worry me." A heavy sigh slipped past her lips.
"So, what are we talking about again?"
Devon frowned as she slapped his shoulders. "I was asking if I should prove to you what kissing means."
"Ahh, right, so you — " Lewis trailed off as his eyes dilated. His lower lip trembled as he attempted to speak, but words clogged in his throat.
"Did you just…" He cleared his throat as he forced himself talk. "… kiss me?"
She nodded her head innocently. Lewis stared at her for a moment, trying to rationalize everything.
"Our position doesn't fluster you, but a kiss can make you act silly." Devon commented as she was still sitting on his lap, and his arms were literally wrapped around her waist!
His reaction to their kiss just contradicted his action. Aside from the fact that Devon didn't plan to stand up, she knew she wouldn't anyway, as he was stilling her.
"Wait." Lewis narrowed his eyes while she raised both her brows. "Let's do it again."
Devon tilted her head to the side, staring at him. Not that she mind as she could still feel the softness of his lips lingering on her and they felt nice. However, what if he actually loses his mind after?
"I mean," He paused, averting his eyes while his face, ear, nape burned in red. "I was just so shock I felt numb."
"You're worrying me, Lu," Devon murmured with a concerned look plastered across her face.
Lewis let out a frustrated sigh. Just what the hell happened to him? He didn't know whether it was because of the wine that he felt numb, or it was because of the shock. Either way, he wanted to do it again!
"Can I?" he asked after taking a deep breath and set his eyes straight in the eye. "I mean, can I really kiss you?"
'He is so awkward.' Devon bit her tongue as she looked at him, who was like a lost puppy. If he wanted to kiss her, he could just do it since she already initiated it.
Lewis' heart sank when Devon clicked her tongue in annoyance. But what happened next made his breath hitched.
"You don't have to ask me next time," she grumbled, leaning in with her head tilted until her lips rested on his lips.
His eyes grew wide, as there's no doubt that the soft texture on his lips was hers. Lewis' eyes gradually softened as he closed them.
As soon as he shut his eyes, the sound of chains breaking lingered in his ears. He didn't lack in giving her warnings, but she didn't listen. So, it wouldn't be his fault if he just acted a little more shameless and indulge in his own desires, right?
Devon was about to draw her head away when Lewis ran his fingers through her hair. His hand then rested on the back of her head, stilling her as his lips parted.
The movement of his lips made her freeze, gripping his shoulder tightly. However, the gentleness, as if he was still asking for her permission to go on, caused her to relax.
Instead of clutching his shoulder, Devon slid her hand and rested her arms over his shoulder. His other hand around her waist crawled up, tracing her spine with their lips slowly moving in synced.
"My frie — ah!" Devon winced at the slight pain as Lewis suddenly bit her lower lip.
Lewis slowly opened his eyes as he tilted his head back. "I don't think you can still call me your friend, my lady."
She pouted, feeling her lip grow swollen a little. "But, why did you bite my lip? Look. It's swollen."
His eyes fell on her lips, raising his hand as his thumb caressed it gently. He only nibbled her, and he didn't think it was that bad.
"It is bound to get swollen, anyway." Lewis shrugged as he inched closer for a light peck. "But, okay."
Again, Lewis kissed her lightly and briefly until his light pecks deepened. His continuous kisses caused her to shut her eyes, as he wasn't even asking anymore and just did what he wanted — not that she disliked it.
As his kiss deepened, Devon flinched when his tongue suddenly licked her lips. She instinctively slapped his shoulder and her eyes snapped open.
"Hmm?" Lewis raised a brow and let her lips go, cocking his head to the side. "I want to continue, so why?"
His complete change of attitude momentarily stunned her, but she recovered quickly.
"Did you…" Devon pursed her lips, licking her lower lips, and tasted the strange tang of wine he left. Her face instantly flushed in red as she hung her head low.
"Don't you like it?" he asked, staring at her, gazing down. She didn't say no or yes, so Lewis didn't have a choice but to lift her chin up and still her to face him.
To his surprised, Devon's entire face was colored in red as she averted her eyes away.
"I will ask you again. Should I stop?" Lewis asked in a gentle tone, waiting for her to look at him in the eye. "If you don't give me an answer, I'll just go on until you tell me to stop."
Devon pursed her lips into a thin line, couldn't bring herself to answer.. And so, Lewis had taken it as her silent permission as he smashed his lips against her once again.
