"Young master, are you alright?" Derek asked, turning his head back at the back seat.

Lewis only glanced at him and smiled. "I guess."

"Did something good happen between you and Miss Lin?"

"Uh-huh," Lewis nodded before shifting his attention to the window, resting his jaw on his knuckles.

Derek studied Lewis' aura and that smile on his boss' face as if it had been there ever since. He could only think of one or two things that could've happened between the two of them. After all, Devon's nagging sounded like the two had gone closer, unlike the past days.

"Young master, don't forget that Miss Lin's condition…"

"Shut up, Erik." Lewis cut him off, glancing at him with his eyes glinting menacingly. "I know you're worried that Devon will change once she retrieves her memories, but you don't have to."

"I'm just saying, her words right now might not matter to her in the future," Derek argued politely, almost apologetically. "You know what she is like more than I do, so forgive me if I'm overstepping my bounds."

Lewis remained silent and just stare at Derek for a moment. "Even so, I would like to take a leap of faith."

Derek nearly cringed at Lewis' last remarks. However, the sincerity in his voice was very distinct, it rendered Derek speechless.

"If you're worried that I will get hurt in the end, I don't mind. I live in the present, after all." Lewis shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly, already had those thoughts in the past and even now.

Until now, Lewis had his fears that were only growing stronger day by day. However, he wanted to trust her and the trust and love they were still building.

"Although it's too early to make assumptions, if all fails and she changed to how she is used to be, I'll just make her like me again," Lewis reassured as the corner of his lips curled into a faint smile. "I just want to be happy for now, Derek. Let's worry about that matter once it happens."

Derek stared at Lewis before letting out a sigh. "Yes, young master."

How could Derek argue with him anymore? He was certain that Lewis had made his decision, knowing all the risks. So, as long as his boss was aware, Derek could only watch on the sideline for now.

After their brief conversation, Lewis recalled something important. He cleared his throat and took his phone out to send a message to someone.

[ To : Insignificant One

Send Derek the information about the car you want, he'll get it for you. ]

A smile appeared on Lewis' lips as he sent the message. Although Dion didn't do much, Lewis still felt the need to thank his brother's effort for accompanying Devon. Moreover, there's also the possibility that Dion helped in their situation unconsciously.

"Derek, if Dion requests something, approve it. I told him I will gift him a car." Lewis informed Derek, which the latter answered with a nod.

"Sis!!" Dion's voice bounced across the entire apartment, startling Devon, who was having breakfast in the dining hall.

Devon turned her head at the entrance of the dining hall, hearing the loud footsteps until Dion came to sight.

"You're so lou… d." She trailed off, seeing that Dion seemed he just came out of the bed and rushed in here. "Did something happen?"

"Sis!" Dion rushed to the chair right beside her, making her jolt back with his aggressiveness. "What the fuck happened?"

His question made her furrow her brows as she tilted her head to the side. Why was he the one asking her when he was the one who rushed into her place?

"My brother!" Dion gasped while Devon's eyes suddenly went wide, with her heart thumping loudly.

"Did something happen to Lu?" Devon asked in a panic, grabbing his shoulder as she rocked him. "Tell me! What happened to your brother?!"

"Ah! Wait, sis!" he raised his hand, feeling a bit dizzy from all the intense moving since he woke up. Devon snapped, realizing her actions, and withdrew her hands from him.

"Did something happen to Lu, so you're here?" she asked worriedly, clenching her hand into a fist while her heart kept pounding loudly against her chest. "Please, tell me it's nothing serious."

"Ah sis, it's not that…" Dion awkwardly chuckled as he didn't expect her to react as if Lewis just died. Well, no one could blame her, as his pale complexion and panic-stricken expression all pointed to that conclusion.

"Then, what made you rush in here as if you just came out of the bed?"

Dion scratched the back of his head as he leaned his back against the chair. "My brother just sent me a text that he will gift me any car I want!"

There was a moment of silence between them as Devon processed his words. She already knew what a car was, but why did Dion have to rush in here to tell her about that? Also, wasn't that good news?

"I sent Assistant Wang which model I want just to check if my brother really means it, and Assistant Wang just said okay!" he exclaimed loudly as if that was truly shocking. "I came here to know what made my brother give me such a one-time wish! Am I going to die?"

"Pardon?"

Dion covered his lips with his palm as he believed there were just one or two reasons Lewis would do such a thing. First, it was a reward which Dion doubted, as he hadn't done anything yet. The second was, it was his last wish before Lewis would guide him to the guillotine!

"You rushed in here just so you can cry?" Devon let out a heavy sigh, shaking her head as she faced her food. "You gave me a scare. Please don't do that again."

"Sis… I might really die if you keep letting my brother act that way," Dion murmured dejectedly, setting his eyes to her.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is, we should make him open up his heart! If you let him keep his distance from you, he might just shut himself off from the world!"

Devon furrowed her brows, as she couldn't understand what nonsense he was saying. "Why don't you join me for breakfast?"

"Sis…"

"Don't worry about your brother," Devon reassured with a smile. "His girlfriend will keep him grounded."

"Heh," Dion let out another helpless sigh, as he wasn't aware that Devon knew what that term meant already. "Sis, do you really want to know what girlfriend means?"

"Lover."

"Yes, so, you know —" He abruptly stopped, wide-eyed. "What did you just…"

"Lu and I are… dating now." Devon broke the news in a monotonous voice.. "We're lovers."
